The album might say Frank DiMino, but old fans who actually recognize that name would be surprised, since the voice sounds almost nothing like the pipes from his Angel days of yore. The big vibrato is still there, but otherwise the ravages of time have taken their toll. And after watching YouTube clips of today's Frank treading water in the Old Rocker club circuit, perhaps a better name for this release might be "The Magic of the Studio," because that's how I conclude they got Frank's withering vocals to actually sound cohesive and in tune. (And I say that as a big fan of Frank's work with Angel, which was bold, compelling and unique.) The new material itself (played by a cast of thousands, including the long-awaited Frank/Punky reunion) isn't bad and rocks pretty good at times, so younger listeners might not give Shit One about my complaint. But if you're an oldster who's kept a nostalgic vigilance for a resurrection of the voice of Angel you'll probably feel a bit ripped-off. 70/100 |

i ve never heard the music of angel.i only know this band by his name.i had reading there is a very long time in frenches reviews that angel plays a solid pomp rock with lot of keyboards.not exactly my cup of tea.i ve seen the video of "rockin in the city" and i was very impressed.so i decide to order this record at cd japan.receive it today, and finally it s a deception.even if frank dimino have a superb voice, even if the sound is perfect, the production excellent.even if track 2 and 4.are two atomic bombs of hard rock ,even if many tracks are great this cd don t hooked me totally.two fillers tracks 3 and 11.the rest ? for fans of deep purple.i m sure that they will be pleased by this realise.not me.the japan bonus track is a beautiful acoustic version of track 5 "even know". |

I've found this album quite a solid one with great Hard Rocking songs which remind me of some Rainbow and Deep Purple kinda thing...my faves are tracks 5(solid mid tempo),7(excellent up rocking one),8,9,10 & 11(nice)...87/100 |
