Where do i start here? Ok i'll come straight to the point, this is NOT very good. This band released a monsterous and truly magnificent AOR debut back in the day but this pales in comparison. Too many whoahs and more whoahs going on for a start off. Opening song Touch is quite obviously attempting to be Don't you know what love is part 2 right down to the opening riff. It FAILS. The Title song is ok, i recall hearing this many times on the tours in the UK back in the day, think of the song Drivin Wheel and it's along those lines. The album actually does contain one DSS Classic in the song In R Blood. Driving keys are the order of the day here and this could easily slip in alongside either of the first 2 DSS releases, it's rather good. The album from then on plods along and doesn't really go anywhere. What they were thinking by the inclusion of I'm The Nyte and Lost In You is anyone's guess as they are pretty much dance tunes. Love will win in the end and Rain of fire try hard but |

fail to reach the heights of In R Blood and anything from the first couple of albums. The production isn't very good and doesn't flow from one song to the next. Fritsh's vocals are very strained also as they have been for a while now. Drive She Said were pretty awesome on their first couple of albums, the third album hinted at things to come and the follow on releases have unfortunately gone downhill. Don't know what else to say really apart from i am left really disappointed by Pedal To The Metal. I hoped it would be a return to greatness for this once awesome band but apart from the aforementioned In R Blood this is (and i don't like saying this) really not very good. |

thanks to frontiers records for this superb come back.i don t understand the very low rates and the bad comments about this marvellous album on this site and on melodic rock.this is their best record so far more brilliant and consistant than their others cd s.this realise is a top class a o r affair ,with all the traditional trademarks of drive she said.but not only cause this gem is very rich and varied.track 5 have a subtil touch of rainbow, track 7 have a beautiful touch of red dawn, track 9 is a superb ballad ,a duet with fiona flanagan!!!and the ice on the cake track 10 and 11 have an irresistible dance music touch.these two songs are some real hits ,wich deserve to be playing in all the night clubs of this planet.only one filler ,track 12 a very average acoustic ballad.track 13 the japan bonus track is a new version of "in your arms" wich have no interest.nevertheless i recommand this exceptional record.all fans of a o r on this earth will love it at the first spin.buy buy buy!!!!! |

to be very complete i can add that the production and the vocals are perfect. ps:no problem for me with the "whoahs"and "oh oh " they sound delicious at my ears. |

The 'production' sounds like a bunch of demos thrown together on a lot of the songs. It's horrendous and has no flow whatsoever. As for the irresistable dance songs, sorry but i do NOT want dance songs on a Drive She Said release thanks. Last time i looked DSS were a ROCK band and that is what i expect when i hear a release by the band, ROCK. To each their own of course and if this flows your boat then that's cool of course. It just doesn't do anything for me. |

Probably this is not the best AOR album of the year but having these guys back is simply awesome...obviously there are some songs that don't fit on this Record such as "I'm The Nyte"(horrible filler that sounds like taken out of any Rammstein album)but on the other side we have pleasant AOR cuts in the shape of tracks 2,3,4(nice),5,7,9(nice mid tempo)& 12(nice acoustic one)...86/100 |
