A remarkable piece of work from the Ex Styx man, both in terms of the artistic content and it's RE-SALE value.

When this CD is good, it's REALLY good, but when it's bad, it's REALLY BAD! "Desert Moon" and "Don't Wait For Heroes" see Dennis writing and singing at Stygian levels. But a throwaway track is always around the corner, and, over the course of a stingy 8 tracks, we get a useless cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Fire" plus a ridiculous number called "Boys Will Be Boys". Problem is: this is Dennis' best solo album. It only got worse from here...

I have heard the DeYoung solo albums and they are very bland. Without Tommy Shaw around to put a fire under Dennis and right some Rock tunes the songe are very forgetable. Koogles it right on target here.

I think the best album tracks are the three soft tracks at the end. The earlier tracks are good too, but the album just rises up at the end with a sweetness and melody which is unusual to find. Rating 9/10

In my opinion ( sorry koogles) i think the album is pretty good. I really like the song Boys will be boys. I still think Boomchild is his best though. To me the albums kept getting stronger.

Esto es un disco de Styx 100%,los mismos esquemas y paranoias en algunos estribillos.Posiblemente sea mas llevadero pues esta mas entrado en los 80(si eres fan de esta década),a mi es que Styx al ser una banda setentera nunca me han ido demasiado.Hombre no esta mal el disco,para seguidores del AOR de los primeros 80,algunos temas marchosillos pero muy light.NO ESTA MAL.

Bad, Bad and Bad. This Cd is a shit in comparison with his incredible second effort "Back To The World". It only has got 2 songs that touch my interest. Very, Very poor debut, i can´t velieve the differences between this one and "Back to the World". 3/10. Contact:westofsunset@hotmail.com

I just saw the video for 'Desert Moon' on VH1-classics and I almost puked! I guess it's not all DeYoung's fault, because back in 1984 all video's were shit. I also understand why the other members of Styx don't want him back in the band. Loser!....

What a terrible album. "Desert Moon" is a good opener, but it goes all down hill after that. His cover of Hendrix's "Fire" might rival Winger's "Purple Haze" as worst Hendrix cover ever. 2/10

Decent album, la verdad Dennis nunca me a convencido del todo en sus albums auque en cada uno de ellos tiene buenos cortes pero no a hecho un disco redondo nunca, aca Don't Wait For Heroes y Desert Moon son las ganadoras de lejos con un AOR muy limpio cosa que no debio cambiar el el resto de cortes, resto anda en rumbos que no me agradan.

I almost always find myself agreeing with Koogles, and have to here again. Has some great moments such as Desert Moon, Suspicious and Dont Wait for Heroes, but there is always a let down around every corner...and I gotta say that the track Boys Will Be Boys is the WORST song I have heard in a long time. Would have suited the quality of material on Kilroy Was Here, which was surely Styx's worst album. A man with Dennis's quality should surely have delivered better.

Very enjoyable first solo album of the great Dennis DeYoung(former Styx member)...AOR with some touches of Westcoast/Lite here and there...best tracks off the album must be "Don't Wait For Heroes","Please","Fire"(this ones a good rocking song),"Desert Moon"(lovely song with a very nice video),"Suspicious" & "Dear Darlin'(I'll Be There)"...a nice choice to pick 4 sure....90/100
