The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Great melodic rock! Refreshing to see that this genre still has a few bands keeping it alive. Sounds like it came right out of the late 80s. Mason's vocals are great.

Great class rock cd,in the style of early Bon jovi and Lynch mob, together with "Thrills"(their second cd 1998)one of my all time favorites, hope to hear something new from them soon. A perfect ten.

Does anyone know what happened to Robert Mason after this cd because his voice rocks big time!

From: Federico Date: April 6, 2002 at 4:18
He was the singer for Ratt for a little while, before Jizzy Pearl(bad choice). I heard he had a project called "Shoulder of giant". Does anybody know something about the new Silent Witness cd? "Thrill"(1998) and this self titled are two master piece, I impatiently wait for the new one.

What's the singer like on Thrills?

From: Federico Date: July 31, 2002 at 12:23
I can describe him as a cross between Bon Jovi and Oni Logan. He is great. He was called to replace Jani Lane in Warrant, than J.L. decided to remain with Warrant. He was a very good substitue for Rob Mason(great).

From: robert Date: January 27, 2003 at 21:39
empiezan con un tema fortisimo, y claro, despues a mi entender, no pueden ya mantener el nivel. a años luz d FIREHOUSE aunque lo intentan.. a lo mejor 10 años antes...

The style is good no doubt. I am glad there is still music like this being made. However, I guess I was looking for something even more similar to Lynch Mob. Something tougher and with more of an angry edge. Mason's vocals are not as "tough" here. This has just a bit more of a party feel to it overall. I like the first 5-6 songs but after that the production seems to slip just a bit and the songs seem more like filler. But I own much worse and I won't be getting rid of this.

From: wadelink Date: February 18, 2004 at 17:49
if you can find this grab it former lynch mob on vox

Here comes that word again, but I will call this 'polite' melodic rock. In this case, though, it is not all bad. I actually really like this CD. Partly because I absolutely love Robert Mason's vocals, but also because there are some great melodic rock songs here. 'Tell me' is a great heartfelt sentimental tune, but elsewhere most the songs are actually pretty damn good. Very good CD, IMO.

I agree with Geoff regarding that brilliant ballad tell me.This is one cd you must add to your collection. The songs are as catchy as jam would attract wasps in a jar.ROBERT MASON from LYNCH MOB sings on this cd and I have to say he is one of the finest vocalists in the world of rock.Make this night last forever is another good ballad. The songs on the first part of the cd really rock out.Don't let a good thing slip away is another good song and is my message to all who read this review.Get it!

Intresting cd, the first 6 tracks are awesome, but song 6 sounds a lot like dance the night away from VAN HALEN, production is a bit lame towards the end of the cd. But Robert Mason is the key here, what a singer!!!!

Excellent effort. Played this one again today. What a voice and some awesome cathy songs. Two great ballads as well. What more can you want. Yep really like it. DONT LET THIS GOOD THING SLIP AWAY 8,4/10

From: 20gunsalute Date: December 2, 2009 at 22:22
If you want to hear Mason listen to Big Cock! Kick ass sleaze rock with sexually retarded lyrics. Great stuff. All 3 of the Big Cock albums are highly recommended, they won't disappoint if you want to rock. Mason is back and more ballsy than ever

From: 123charpenay Date: June 3, 2015 at 13:53
very very great melodic rock.not the cd of the century but excellent.well produced, varied, catchy songs, great musicians and great singer.very consistant realise with no fillers.unfortunately no bonus tracks on the japan import.track 7 and 9 are some brilliant covers from the top class adrian dodz record (reissue with three bonus tracks on schmankerl records).

From: hair metal again Date: January 22, 2021 at 6:44
excellent hard rock debut for SILENT WITNESS a band that evolved from the ADRIAN DODZ ashes with a fine guitar driven commercial hard rock sound ,crystal clear production and those unique Robert s vocals !"living in a lie","i ll wait","tell me" and "dont let a good thing slip away" are great songs indeed !highly recommended
