well if you read all the people involved in this album you'll get an idea of how it sounds. Great hard aor album with rockers and ballads, Hide Your Heart is a cover of a Kiss songs, the same that appears in Hot in the Shade. First Time was a song used in a Coke TV commercial, remember?.

From: ROBBYV. Date: February 23, 2002 at 13:51

From: robert Date: October 28, 2002 at 9:09

From: MALLORCA´S ROCK Date: November 25, 2002 at 3:53

From: Greg Hall Date: February 19, 2003 at 1:44
This album is the one thing that helped me through some very rough times....awesome sounds, great lyrics...

From: Date: July 23, 2003 at 11:49
Los temas me los he bajado del Kazaa y me quedan por encontrar tres: Don't lose any sleep, Sleeping with the enemy y A heart for you.

From: Lynn Date: July 26, 2003 at 5:26
There aren't many female artists that are worth listening to, but this one definitely is. The whole album is great!

From: koogles Date: September 19, 2003 at 11:54
Solid bundle of AOR tracks, some of which other artists have done (Kiss, Cher, Starship etc.) but handled well by the enticing Beck. I would rate this right up there with Romeo's Daughter, Chrissy Steele, Cher's "Heart of Stone" and other AOR highlights from the day. Any collection of female-led AOR needs this one before it's complete.

Its the best cd I've heard in a long time. I listen to it every day. Her vocals are so powerful. She has the range of Mariah or Celine Dion, and has this amazing rock edge that really makes her stand out. Best songs are ''Hold back the night'', ''Hide your heart'',''First Time'' which I love and was No 1 in the UK for 3 weeks back in 1988. I am deffinately a Robin beck fan after listening to this CD

From: keepthefaith Date: March 16, 2004 at 14:26

From: Craig Chapman Date: March 30, 2004 at 6:44
I liked the Coke song but doubted they'd be much to back it up. How wrong I was. Sorry, but the ladeez don't normally produce great AOR, often comes across a little cheesy, but Robin sounds fantastic. Some strong songs do help, best set I've heard since Cherie & Marie Currie joined up with most of Toto. Thak God it's on CD too, I only had the tape to start with

Have just managed to get this on CD as my tape had worn thread-bare. Great stuff, and according to her hubby James Christian, her new stuff is as good as this. We'll see, but this and 'Human Instinct' are essential AOR releases. THE best female singer in the business...

From: TIM (2) Date: June 28, 2004 at 7:39
P.s. Just to add, her new stuff is certainly not as good as this! Have heard some snippets from "Wonderland" and it sounds like soul music. Apparantly Christian had quite a big involvement in it, which makes it even more surprising that it sounds so bad. A definite try before you buy...

Now this is a lady who knows how to use her voice for the power of good! This CD is a long-time fave of mine, with killer tracks like 'Don't lose any sleep' and 'Save up all your tears' being two of my faves'. Elsewhere, the tracks she had a hand in writing, 'Heart for you' and 'Sleeping with the enemy' are just f*cking outstanding. The rest are good Desmond Child-style tracks and overall a great album. I love it!

Wow!!! for me The Best album made for a Woman, QUE PUEDO DECIR!!! para mi tambien es el mejor album hecho por una mujer dentro del AOR y de Todo el Rock, Una SUPERJOYA, ademas encuentro 2 mis temas favoritos de AOR de todos los tiempos por una femina hablo de las Descomunales A Heart For You Mi numero 1 de todas la que lidera mi TOP y If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man) otro tema Demoledor sin duda los 2 mejores cortes, despues tenemos Grandes cortes como:

Sleeping With the Enemy, First Time, Don't Lose Any Sleep, Hold Back the Night, Save Up All Your Tears...

If you were a woman, In a crazy world like this.. que temazos.

From: biurri Date: September 13, 2005 at 8:52

From: AUGUSTO Date: November 15, 2005 at 12:17
IMPRESIONANTE!!!!!DISCO PERFECTO, NI UN TEMA DE RELLENO, TODOS GANCHEROS, LOS TEMAS QUE TE DAN GANAS DE AMAR Y ESCUCHAR A TODO VOLUMEN, SI SOS FAN DEL AOR, IMPRECINDIBLE EN TU COLECCION

From: victordeaor Date: March 15, 2006 at 13:18
Imprescindible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!10/10

From: Carlos A. Date: March 30, 2006 at 13:34

From: kipvanpearcy Date: April 7, 2006 at 14:28
A classic ... "Hold back the night" is my favourite song on this CD. The rest is excellent too, full of hits. In the vein of Fiona Flanagan and belinda Carlisle, only more powerful.

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 11:38
First Class Album ! 9/10

From: lalorock Date: September 8, 2006 at 15:50
Excelente album de aor cantado por una mujer,Robin Beck en este album demostró dominio vocal, feeling para imprimir en cada canción asi tenemos canciones de gran nivel como ese comienzo Hide your heart, don´t lose any sleep temazos donde impera el buen gusto y melodía,if you were... con unos coros tremendos, hold back the night (mi favorita)que canción!!,save up all your tears teclados bien puestos y envolventes, in a crazy world.. temazo, baladas tears in the rain, first time de primer nivel, discazo

From: juan carlos Date: May 8, 2007 at 16:48

Saludos.

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: October 7, 2007 at 14:03

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: October 7, 2007 at 14:09
Destacan tambien "Save Up All Your Tears" y "Hold Back The Night".

From: Maxi Date: February 21, 2008 at 7:39

I don't have too many melodic rock/AOR cd's with females taking the lead. This is one that stands out. The right ballance between songs that should have something for everyone!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 3, 2011 at 11:43
Brilliant release and far the best in her career...centuries ago while living in England (80's) got myself this one on tape!!!(tapes are out of fashion nowadays ) and well now it's time for me to write a comment and say that basically this is a must have!!!...solid songs with plenty of "hits"...the great opening "Hide Your Heart" originally by Desmond Child(like some others on this record) and covered by the likes of Kiss & Bonnie Tyler to mention some,"Don't Loose Any Sleep","Save Up All Your Tears","In A Crazy World Like This","A Heart For You" & "First Time" are songs that will put a in your face but sincerely the whole album is top notch and well worth to have...98/100

One of the few cd's that really are truly perfect.

From: hair metal again Date: March 4, 2014 at 1:09
ROBIN BECK s debut is a masterpiece of its kind and it reaches perfection!all the songs could rule the charts and i believe that the strong point was the use of more guitars than the usual of such releases!the only problem of those releases is that they werent part of a scene!overall a classic!
