John's name has always been associated with quality music from his days in the excellent New England, so to finally have some new music bearing his name is fantastic news all round. Quality songwriting is the name of the game here, with 11 excellent songs featured. Those expecting the full on Pomp bombast of New England should maybe approach with caution, as this has a more intimate, stripped back sound, although the Beatles influence in the NE sound is still there and the excellent single 'Just Run' featuring Jimmy Waldo's Mellotron, which could quite easily have been a contender for a NE track back in the day. The albums real strong points though are the ballads, especially the superb 'So Tied Uo In You' which is my personal favourite, 'Hearts Are Breaking' and 'Saved All The Pieces', beautiful one and all. It's a real treat having John back on the music scene and with material this good, hopefully it won't be the last solo album he releases.

This is great - not much to add to Jez's (is 's correct?) comments - this really is an excellent CD.
