very basic produced album. 70`s sound. the song "you`re my home" is written by angel schleifer,jörg deisinger and michael bormann and from the "charade"-album. released only in japan in 1998.best song on this album beside "august nights". |

Not great I am afraid. Well below average and not at all what the general fan base would be expecting as far as style. A distinct lack of hooks, melodic harmonies and even those that appreciate the modern sound might feel the songs aren't as strong as they could have been. It's all just a little out of place. |

News from MelodicRock.com: After 5 studio albums and 8 active years in the music business, with Demon Drive have called it a day. While producer Michael Voss is currently concentrating on producing his bands Silver and Biss, Jochen Mayer (bass), Frank Kraus (drums) and Thorsten Koehne (guitars) are looking for new bands to join. |

There are still the melodies and punchy choruses that fans have become accustomed to from Michael and Demon Drive, and 'Rock and Roll Star' is an enjoyable and creative album which deserves to be given a fair hearing. The boys also dabble in a couple of cover versions. The Kiss classic 'Sure Know Something' (Jochen on vocals), and a duet between Michael and Lee Aaron on Suzi Quatro's 'She's In Love With You'. Both are fine renditions. |

Just the most ordinary album you will ever hear from Voss... to put it simply. This is in no way bad, but just ordinary and just sort of happens without any impact. I like it, but very un-Voss-like. 'You're my home' and 'August nights' are highlights, but we know Voss can do better. |
