Happy that it's a great sounding cd, but knowing that john sykes was the original member here, the music would probably been very different. Now, it's more like another richie kotzen project (or Mr.Big). I'm a litte done with his voice and guitarplaying to be honest. 7,5/10 |

I agree with zld, would've loved to hear what would've been conjured up with the John Sykes incarnation of this band... That being said this is a very valid entity that deserves to exist. Whilst not being a classic as i believe "The Sykes" version would be, this is still great. A blues tinged solid powerhouse trio featuring the chops of Sheehan, Portnoy & Kotzen, where the playing carries or compensates for any songwriting shortcomings. You'd have to like Kotzen's gear to be able to fully embrace this. I have only just forgiven him for his slights against Poison. All hail Billy Sheehan! |

It's always good to have a straight forward rock album come out these days. This has "Mr. Big" influences written all over it. Sheehan's runs are a plenty. Kotzen is a serviceable singer but he will never be at the level of let's say, Eric Martin. This is a good listen, and should make HH's best of 2013 (somewhere on it) list. |

excellent debut for THE WINERY DOGS with a monsterous sound and of course sensational musicianship!those guys are fantastic musicians and the result is impressive indeed!on the other hand i agree that the songs arent something blowminding and that the Kotzen influence is excessive...great rock album all the way for me and now i m gonna buy their 2nd one as well |
