Actually one their weakest, and slightly heavier than the previous releases. Buy the following "No Doubt" album instead.

I know I'm a broken record, but I can't actually believe these guys. I was listening to all my Petra CDs last night to decide whether to keep them or not - it was a pretty negative overall result. Songs like 'Strong Convictions' and 'Believer in Deed' really need to be heard to be believed. I can't believe a man could actually write this stuff. And probably the worst offender is 'Praying Man'. which sadly has the album's best chorus/hook... but it is so terrible lyrically I can't really enjoy it. The point is, regardless of how annoying and in-your-face their message and lyrics are, the songs honestly just aren't good, imo.

Sometimes I stand in front of my collection, close my eyes, choose a cd to prove if I can realize what´s spinning in my player. And yes, tonight it was this Petra release. Took me 10 seconds to realize it´s a christian band (because of the lyrics) and after 2 minutes I knew that I was listening to Petra. Geoffs post nailed it. Musically very average, lyrics I can hardly listen to. They did some good ones but this for sure is a weak release.

Some folks argue this was the beginning of Petra's decline and while I do not fully subscribe to this position, neither will I condemn it, because this album definitely pales in comparison to the previous 3 or 4 releases. Still, it's a solid effort from Petra, with some good rockers ("Underneath the Blood" is a heavy monster of an anthem) sprinkled amidst the more somnabulent songs. This is also the album on which the band gave up working with John & Dino Elefante and selected a new producer instead and it shows...and not necessarily for the better. Bottom line, when you're listening to the bona fide rock songs on this release, you'll be thinking, "Oh yeah, that's the Petra I know and love," but when the dull, plodding tracks are playing, you'll be wishing someone had given the band their own wake up call...
