One of the better Petra albums. This Means War is a great song.

Great album. They sound very diferent then on the early PETRA records of the 70s. Its more a mix between WHITECROSS, DEF LEPPARD and other great 80s hard rock bands. Not with many 70s influences and i think thats great. Dont get me wrong because i also love their first albums, but this one is perfect for 1987.

By 1987 John Schlitt had left behind his party days with his former band Head East and was trading lyrics such as "Woman with the sweet lovin' better than a white line" for "Come and see the things the Lord can do." Wise choice! This Petra album is paricularly good and fit in perfectly with the Christian Rock movement of the mid 1980's. Save for the heavily influenced Christian theme, what you have here is a straight ahead stadium rocker with lots of whammy bar and keyboards! Great stuff.

Regular. El sonido mola, pero las canciones no enganchan como las de On fire!

These are the true greatest MASTERS in melodick rock, anyone can reach Petra who I consider the greatest band from Usa in melodick rock.John Schlitt is one of the finest voice in the world, every song contains 2/3 different tune, each of them killer.I think the discs from”Beat the system”to”No doubt”are the best things ever heard.4 comments on this cd,SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is one Petra fan in the world who dismissed Steel Panther because of "their bad lyrics" I want to slap them. lol. Seriously, of all the bands I have ever heard in my life I just don't think anyone comes as close to writing lyrics and absolutely terrible as Petra. For example, 'Get on Your Knees and Fight Like a Man'. Are they actually serious with this garbage? Absolutely appalling. Anyway, I kind of don't mind the music at times though it's as heavy as a feather. But the songs just aren't that good, imo. Gave it a couple of spins, but I will sell/trade this.

For all the great Petra songs, and there are many, All the Kings Horses is my all time favorite from Petra.

Backed by the full-bodied power of John & Dino Elefante's impeccable production, Petra go marching like a band of guitar-slinging warriors into melodic arena-rock territory and proceed to conquer that style with authority. This was the beginning of the most successful phase of the band's career, with album sales skyrocketing as Petra became the biggest C-rock band in the world. The songs pack some mean hooks and the choruses soar with anthemic qualities and lots of backing vocals. "This means war!" is what any Christian rock fan should say to someone who tries to take this album away from them.
