Temporary Message Board Closure
The company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that
would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling
to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different
platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content
(posts, user profiles, etc.).
However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere
from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated.
While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some
long-term savings.
The current message board will be closed down at some point this
Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are
reading this), will NOT be affected.

CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from Petra are also welcome to be added, as
long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

| Rock-worship albums are hard to do well, but Petra pulled it off during the peak of their popularity with the first "Petra Praise" CD, which, if I recall correctly, still stands as their best seller. Well, the band whose name means "rock" thought they would try to capture lightning in a bottle twice, but the results are pretty dismal. A bunch of contemporary praise & worship songs are given a Petra makeover, but only 2 or 3 songs actually have a rock edge, with the rest remaining safely in church-friendly territory. Listen, the 2nd time was most certainly not the charm and while I'm not opposed to the band going it a 3rd go-round, here's hoping that if they do, they remember they're a rock band, not a local church worship group.
