From: purrfect-kat Date: September 24, 2002 at 13:57
This band is no powerhouse but they do play nice classy Hard Rock. . . This one sells for $25 to $30 and is worth the money.

From: Roger Date: November 3, 2002 at 15:33

From: Teo_3 Date: December 17, 2002 at 21:24
If you like TREAT, EVENNRUDE, SWEDISH EROTICA, DA VINCI then this is a MUST in your collection.Truly great!!

From: freddy de keyze Date: January 3, 2003 at 19:26
H guys, don't overreact. This is not bad, but can't compete with real class AOR la Foreigner, Drive She Said, Boulevard, Signal, I-Ten, Bad English etc. etc. The americans and canadians are the best in this genre and they will always be. Listen also to Mecca, Streets, Fortune, Preview and you will notice the difference in class !

From: MALLORCAS ROCK Date: January 22, 2003 at 10:20

From: Rycheage Date: February 7, 2004 at 19:40
There are some wonderful hummable tracks on this one. The choruses are so memorable. Who can forget the ramble of 'Love Injection', the big chants happening on 'Like An Angel', or the booming anthemic approach of 'Love Hurts'. The pulsing bass lines of 'Dressed To Kill' moves this track very much into the heart of Treat territory.

From: Dreamhunter Date: February 16, 2004 at 19:22
Is this record better than the first one ??? which I liked but - although very similar in stile - isn't as good as Treat ..

Scandinavia, thanks for the tip as well. Rockhead, have you recieved the CDs? Are they OK no bootlegs or burned Cds? I'm gonna buy them but I'm afraid of the price because www.schmankerl-records.de sells them about 100 Eur each.

I've wrote an e-mail to them, and got the answer that they can't ship to my country. I'm living in Serbia & Montenegro (the former Yugoslavia). Anyone can help me? I can send the money to you via Western Union Money Transfer. Please!

From: Mirek Date: May 19, 2004 at 15:53
I'm from the Czech Republic and they don' ship here as well so try Susan Kleen - popimport@telia.com. I ordered both Dalton's Cds from her. It's a bit more expensive 11Eur for 1cd including shipping but the cd is worth it. My e-mail is kip@volny.cz if there would be any problem.

Can someone help me with this? Am seeing some copies of these 2 CDs about for 35/50 or so and want to know if either are worth it? Someone above mentioned a Deep Purple comparison, which worried me considerably! Am an AOR fan and love lots of keys in my music, if this is anything like Treat's 'DreamHunter' or Skagarack's 'Hungry For A Game' or 'A Slice of Heaven' then I must have it... Thanks!

From: Rockhead Date: May 25, 2004 at 4:59
Hi Tim both Dalton albums are excellent melodic rock albums. I have picked up some spare copies and will sell sell for 35.00 if interested

That's roughly US$55. Given that those 2 CDs will be available as of June 7 at musicbuymail.com (see front page of melodicrock.com), I would hold off rather than paying inflated prices now...

To add to what Dan's said, due to the big influx of the 2 Dalton discs on eBay right now, thanks to www.cdon.com, if you're patient, you can snag these babies for less than $20 now. I won Injection for $14 recently.

hi tim! dont worry about the deep purple comparisons there's no such thing in here.this guys are more like a mixture of treat(dreamhunter era) & da vinci, pretty good stuff if you ask me! both albums are worth having.good luck on your search!!.

Hi ! Here you can buy both DALTON-albums legally for a very good price (around 10-13 Euro): musicbuymail.com ! My favourite album is INJECTION and I just love the tracks: LOVE INJECTION - LOVE HURTS - DRESSED TO KILL. The sound and song structures remind me of FATE very much.

From: TIM (2) Date: June 1, 2004 at 6:18
Thanks for all your comments above, managed to get both CDs at very good prices. 'Injection' is the better CD for me, and 'Lonely' and 'Comin' On Strong' are as good as most tracks from 'Dreamhunter'. The production is a little thin, and the drums sound a bit naff, but agree they sound very much like Fate. Excellent stuff.

From: Da Vinci Date: June 5, 2004 at 20:59
Hey !! Does anybody know if both Dalton CDs were reprinted/re-issued recently ? A few months ago they were one of the rarest items around then suddenly they're everywhere (ebay, aorheaven, musicbuymail, cdon) .. and the price went from US$ 100 to US$ 9 !!!..thank you

According to a good friend of mine who stays on top of this kind of stuff, the CDs that are popping up everywhere are re-issues by EMI Sweden...the company that originally released them. Guess they saw the opportunity to make some good money AND please a lot of music lovers.

From: Scandinavia Date: June 6, 2004 at 5:54
But rather old re-issues...From around 1994 it says...

From: Nanteau Date: June 19, 2004 at 15:42
THE RACE IS ON is the '94 reissue but INJECTION is the original one I guess. The intro of 'Lonely' is such stupid and ordinaire it makes it the weakest track, the rest may be very good if you're in melo-rock. But I guess I'm no more... 'cos I don't like it as much as you do. NEVERTHELESS: 7,9/10

From: rocky Date: July 6, 2004 at 8:59
to all scandinavians, this cd is possible to get at cdon.com at the very good price of 79.-nkr.....and it is absolutely worth it. i wonder why they haven`t been more successful than they are, because this is better than Europe....get it!!!!!

From: Theo GR Date: July 7, 2004 at 10:03
I bought this CD for 20$ and i feel extremely happy about it!!It's true that these two Dalton albums were re-issued three months ago(1000 copies) and that's why they have such a good price!!It's a hard rock masterpiece with great musicians..This album is similar to the first disc of John Norum(Total Control)!Very good production, perfect melodies and here comes an outstanding disc..so go for it!!!! Wow, about 1700 pages of comments and 1 or 2 on the actual songs at hand here! For me, this disc blew my mind when I first heard it and still does today. A truly perfect example of Scandi melodic hard rock. Like the last disc, 'Go For It!' is a big hard rocking opener, 'Love Injection' and 'Love lie' are examples of killer melodic hard rock, 'Lonely' is a nice ballad, 'Love Hurts' and 'Why don't you love me' are huge melodic rockers, 'Dressed to Kill' is my fave, and an outstanding melodic hard

From: Geoff Date: March 2, 2005 at 5:55
rock gem, 'Comin' on Strong' is my second favourite track and again is perfect melodic rock, and the closer 'Wake you up' is amusing and another killer melodic hard rocker. This album rarely falters and has countless gems. Essential to any melodic rock fan.

From: StarCity Rocker Date: March 9, 2005 at 9:06
Very good album, great keyboards, and good vocals. Most previous reviewers have nailed this band. Fans of Fate, Treat, and Europe will most certainly approve. My highlights were "Love Injection," "Like An Angel," "Dressed To Kill," and "Love Lie." The only song I had problems with was "Heartbroken." The keyboard intro was the best part of the track, with the song becoming too slow and too sappy (even for a ballad.) But that one song is certainly tolerable in the context of the album itself.

From: lalorock Date: June 13, 2006 at 15:28

Fans of big, polished, hooky melodic HR will love this the way 30 year-old virgins love their life-size love-doll replicas of Jenna Jamison. Some have said the production is subpar, but it sounds like what you'd expect from a hard rock band in 1989. With songs this catchy, vocals this big (reminscent of early Treat), you'd have to be nuts not to grab this one. It just really is one of those essential, not-to-be-missed CDs. Pick this one up and inject some listening pleasure into your stereo.

From: Pudelrockarn Date: March 4, 2007 at 10:32
I agree with Magnus, this is the masterpiece! 10 out of 10. Buy it if you can!

From: Dreamaholic Date: May 1, 2007 at 6:42
Some fillers here, but there are also some outstanding tracks. Love Injection and Why Don't You Love Me had me learning them fast and singing them for days, fantastic anthem rockers with big backing vocals. But the real treat for me here is Like An Angel - one of my favorite songs ever. With three songs in my top 750 mp3 playlist, I give this CD high marks!

From: erik Date: May 4, 2007 at 8:13
Flawless album. Scandi melodic rock heaven. Essential IMO. Doesnot get much better then this. Not a filler on board. 9,8/10

Where is AOR Freaky? This guy is full of complex ism! He claims that he is an AOR freak and because of his empathy to Scandinavian bands, he is not even commenting in this huge AOR monument...Some people are just idiots! Maybe we '' ll finf him criticize and being a graphic redneck sending 10 or 15 posts in other albums, arguing or trying to convince about his expertize...Bless you. Concerning the album...92/100! Get out and buy it!

Amazing album!! Lonely is up there with Best of Me (Treat), Never Find Another You (Bad Habit), Stay (Sha-Boom), Carrie (Europe) and Love is All You Need (220 Volt). Excellent Scandi AOR! 9/10

From: metalhead4life Date: June 11, 2009 at 10:13
This 2nd effort is a little more bigger sounding than their first - also just a tad heavier but again just very slightly; maybe it has just a little more drive and energy than the first would be a better way to put it. They matured and put out another good album. Tracks 4-6 standout for me the most but this is filled with good, catchy songs with big sound and choruses. Not sure which album of theirs I like better but I'll give this one just a slightly higher rating 85/100 since it has more songs and a more full, bigger sound.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 22, 2010 at 16:00
More edgy than their debut and of course packed with good songs.."Love Injection"is just phenomenal...a very round album perhaps a little bit more complete than The Race Is On..in general lines get both albums and find out by yourself how great this band was at that stage..the 80's of course!.89/100

From: happy2849 Date: November 2, 2010 at 17:52
Listening to this one right now. After a few tracks I remember why I kept it. Top-notch rock/AOR the way its is supposed to be played. You can't go wrong here.

fantastic release by DALTON back in 89 and this one is a classic swedish hard rock release!great keys, big choruses, fine songs and the music is flawless!"love injection","lonely","dressed to kill" and "why dont you love me" are fantastic songs indeed and DALTON shoulda make it big with this gem!

Absolute class act like Treat, Alien, Roulette. Plenty of keys and standouts "Love Injection", "Lonely", "Comin' on Strong" deserve to be up there with the best of Swedish AOR. Received "The Best of Dalton - 25th Anniversary 1987 - 2012" the other day with 3 unreleased tracks which could easily fit on this album - another must have.
