It sounds like this band from down under has been hermetically sealed in a vault for 25 years and the headbangers ball gods have been summoned or at least put on notice. For the opening track think of a poor man's 'Wildside -Under the Influence' as the vox/style reminds me of that band with 'Street Level'. 'Legions of Love' has a Def Lep vibe, as do some of the other tracks. The problem with the release IMO is that there's too many tracks with lyrics/choruses that are overly repetitious and need some attention to detail. The band has some promise so keep your fingers crossed for a more mature sophomore release. De La Cruz released a EP (2011)that is rawer but more consistent in the sleaze genre. None of the EP tracks made it on 'Street Level' but it's worth a spin. It's FREE on the band's website.. http://www.delacruzofficial.com/ |

Excelente debut, hard rock con mucho de def leppard sobre todo en las voces y se acentua mas al trascurrir los temas, tan solo denle una escucha al tema "Dreaming". |

this record is not recommanded to people who have some headache.the singer howl like a hyena in the desert above all on the verses.when he don t scream he sing to low.he is very limited and the lone song where is voice is decent it s on the last track ,the ballad shine.for make short he ruins the cd.it s very regretable cause the songs are great with catchy choruses.the backing vocals are good and superior to this poor singer.the production is really excellent, powerfull and clear.this album is absoluty not in the usual style of frontiers records (very melodic and polished a o r).here whe have a straight and mighty hard u s in the style of ratt or wildside.of course these two bands are far far better than de la cruz.it s imcomprehensible that nobody at frontiers haven t see that there is a very big problem with the singer. |

Bought this one with high expectations due to all the hype on the forum for this sight, but for some reason I cant see/hear what they do. Yeah musically its great, and while I dont love them, I dont have a massive issue with the repetitive choruses that just sing the same line over and over again. My problem is the songs just did not have the massive hooks I was expecting, and after playing the albums several times, I still could not tell you a single song thats on it. All these guys need is a much tighter piece of song writing, and they will be great. Until then this album will be one of those albums I want to really like, but will only ever be in the "its ok" pile. |

The song "Street Level" is a great mid-tempo 80s-sytled rock song. The rest of the songs are fine too, and out of all the new hair bands out there, De La Cruz are one of the few with a real 80s vibe. |
