This is an excellent album in a modern style even by first listening. IMO one of the best releases of the year 9/10. |
From: SCANDI | Date: November 29, 2005 at 13:53 |
Oh no.. I hope this is not really "modern style" as all the other great bands of the 80s who turn to make a mess nowadays with comeback albums. I think about getting this 'cos I liked the first afforts of BAD HABIT very much. But now I think twice.. Maybe "Adult Orientation" (I either don't own) is the better one for me.. |

This is about as modern as a bow and arrow. Now that that's sorted, it's a killer release. I'd call it a mix between 'Revolution' and 'Adult orientation' with a few Arena Sweden "beats" thrown in. A crisp sound, some killer melodic rockers and sheer beauty on display. 'To love you', 'I'll be the one' and 'The air that I breathe' are some of my faves, there are about 3 fillers, but mostly the songs are brilliant slabs of melodic rock. Killer addition to the Bad Habit catalogue. |

Have liked all the Bad Habit releases so far, so was expecting a bit of a nose dive after a 7 year wait - but Oh No. The first thing that you really notice is the toughened up Guitar sound, especially on the excellent opener 'To Love You', 'Reason', 'Alive', 'Tell Me Why' & the superb 'I Can't Help Myself'. The typical BH sound is also there aswell on 'I Want To Know', 'I'll Be There' & the poppier 'Tell Me Why' which does sound like something from the Arena album. |

Standouts (and there are many) the aforementioned 'To Love You','I Can't Help Myself, 'Walk Of Life' with it's hooky eastern sounding keyboards (I was humming this song all night) but top prize award goes to 'The Air That I Breathe' which is a fine fine AOR track to finish off the album. There are a couple of fillers on board, but with the rest of the material this strong I can forgive 'em that. Definately one of the best 'Comeback' albums thus far. Great stuff. |

Unfortunately I'm not as excited as the guys above about this. I totally disagree with Geoff (sorry mate), as the modern production effects are all over this album. For me, this is a radical departure from albums past, it's much heavier & the whole 'programmed' feel does little for me. It does 'sound' awesome though, & I love the guitar sound particularly. If this were anyone but Bad Habit I'd probably like it, but they set the bar so high with past releases that this can't compete IMO. |

Having said all that, there are 4 tunes that all old fans will love. Tracks: 3,7,10 & 12 (plus 13 if you get the JAP version) are all sheer Scandi pure AOR heaven & make this worth buying all on their own. "The Air That I Breathe" is particularly awesome. These tunes could easily fit the first 3 Bad Habit discs, and as such are well out of place on here. Buy this album & love it for those 4 tunes, but IMO this could (& should) have been a whole lot better. 7/10. |
From: SCANDI | Date: December 21, 2005 at 11:45 |
Now I got finally this one. --And so it's heavier, it's OK. To verify what I mean & how it is I just have to quote some words of BAD HABIT to this album: "all songs should have heavy guitars" (but as well) "should have a recurring melodic part". What nerves me a lot are the modern elements (from computer as TIM (2) stated). Especially the otherwise excellent first song suffers a lot from this part of shit. For me every song except maybe 5 & 6 has something. |
From: SCANDI | Date: December 21, 2005 at 11:51 |
However, the best thing to this album is that Fehling's voice is still the same high pitched one which makes the BAD HABIT sound. Yeah, as stated above the typically BAD HABIT sound is still shining in every song. My favourite song's here are "To love you", "All that I want", "I want to know" & "The air that I breathe". Surely a good album from these days 8/10 --even more interesting than "Revolution" IMO |

El sonido de la batería y los efectos (suenan a pop/moderno) que han realizado los chicos de Bad Habit en este album no me convencen. La misma fórmula hizo Hal Marabel en su grupo Arena y no me gustó del todo. Si esto no te molesta pues este disco es para todo fan del melodic rock. mis favoritas son "all that i want" "i want to know" "i´ll be the one" "the air that i breathe", "to love you" tambien esta ok. 7.3/10. |

Esperaba algo mejor. |

buen album de los Bad habit con canciones a medio camino entre un aor clasico y un sonido actual, me recurda al Adrenalize de Def Leppard, canciones buenas caso de all that i want, i want to know, i´ll be the one, buenas canciones, pero hay otras que bajan un poco el puntaje. en general un album aceptable. |

Their capacity to made great albums every time in a different and great way is finished.I think this cd is average, generic, with some good song and nothing more.Horrible the choice of this futuristic drum sounding, not a single original guitar work and weak and forgettable melodies that aren t in the DNA of this band who I consider one of the greatest of all times in this genre.6/10. |

All that i Want, I want to Know, I'll be the One and The air that i Breath are fantastic gems. Worth the addition of the cd only. Scandi melodic rock perfection. The rest of the songs ? Well Tim is the one who is spot on here. Modern effects and and vibe all over them. Strange some people dont hear that. Anyways this could have been an alltime great album if continued in the songs as mentioned earlier. At least IMO |

good release by bad habit in the same melodic way like their previous releases.the vocals are as strong as they were but the guitars are a little bit heavier and we have some drum programming here.the result is ok but not in the same level of the past releases.i must say though that they are very talented in those mid tempo melodic tunes like "all that i want", "i want to know" and "the air that i breathe".i will always like bad habit |

Decent album and still giving us enjoyable songs IMO...maybe it should have sounded less "modern" at times but nothing to really worry about because is very appealing anyway..."Walk Of Life" for me the best cut in it then another goodies are "To Love You","All That I Want"(nice AOR),"Alive","I Want To Know"(nice),"I'll Be The One"(catchy) & "The Air That I Breathe"(nice AOR)...87/100 |
