Awesome sequal to the self titled debut. Did you know that there is an album before the self titled debut? It's on Tropical Records. Try to fond that one...(I have it, he he he)

From: Date: July 21, 2001 at 0:29
yes the debut was great..love "Spider"..i actually liked "Street Ready" over the debut and the self titled...."Hideaway and Thunder"

From: cristian Date: August 4, 2001 at 1:59
i've heard only 3 songs with these guys and i was amazed. Can someone help me buy both albums ?Contact me cristi30ro@yahoo.com

From: leighton Date: August 20, 2001 at 17:48
I found this little gem at a 2nd hand shop and loved it from the first listen. Strong vocals and fantastic guitar work especially on the catchy "thunder". Very consistent and I would recommend it to anyone who is into melodic/power metal.

From: macstorm Date: December 3, 2001 at 22:38
i have STREET READY and their self-titled album. i'm not sure if that is their debut album but street ready was the first that i heard and man they R-O-C-K!

Good band sadly missed and this album was one of the most talked about albums of that year, check it out. I have some killer pics of the band from WOA for sale. get in touch: friday13th@robhalford.com

this is the DIAMOND of hard rock.An amazing album.HEAR THIS AND YOU WILL FORGET A LOT OF star-bands......FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!

From: METAL 4 EVER Date: September 8, 2002 at 21:23
This is one of the greatest albums of all time. The songs Street Ready & Thunder are the two of the greatest anthems of all time. I have all four of there cds, and Street Ready is there best followed by the s/t ('87). Then the s/t ('84, also known as Endangered Species) was pretty good, it's a little more on the thrash side. There latest album is Wide Open (Live Album), not bad but the backing vocals were a little weak. Leatherwolf Rules!!!! Metal 4 Life

Good band. Excellent musicians, quite competent on their respective instruments. Great song arrangements, better than most metal acts, but their still no RUSH, METALLICA or CRIMSON GLORY!! I really enjoy this album, definately their best, catchy tunes and hard hitting at times!!

From: Jayglam@hotmail Date: May 5, 2003 at 5:25
Metal masterpiece, triple axe attack is incredible, the guitar solos on this smoke three awesome guitarists trying to outdo each other. Great song structures as well a definate must have if you are into guitar playing. The other 2 Leatherwolf CDs are worth getting as well, they have been rereleased so they are affordable. Jay from Australia.

From: ALEJANDRO Date: June 5, 2003 at 15:16

From: Scandinavia Date: June 7, 2003 at 11:00
Very, very good album...A nice blend of Thrash and commercial heavy rock...The melodies are really unique for an american band. I tend to hear both Helstar and Helloween influences in their sound but then again I guess Leatherwolf was on the scene before the bands I just mentioned...The track "Thunder" is an absolute classic! What a masterpiece. The guitars are perfect too...Just a damn perfect album. I'll never grow tired of this band although I'm normally into softer stuff.

From: Rocker 76 Date: June 26, 2003 at 11:47
Leatherwolf rocks! This album is killer from beginning to end - "The Way I Feel" sums up the 80s for me. Great kickin' power ballad...Definitely recommended for anyone who likes 80s hard rock. Leatherwolf is definitely one of the underrated bands of that time.

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 26, 2003 at 11:53
These guys rock indeed, and in the good sense of the word. Good band that had not enough changes to make it big. Heavy, but good, classy stuff !

From: razor2467 Date: July 12, 2003 at 22:07
Great powerful melodic metal from the late 1980's!! One of the better bands from that time period!! Definitely recommended!!

From: vandervelde Date: September 26, 2003 at 18:11
This is what i call melodic metal. Too heavy for some people but for me definately not!!. Great songs with outstanding melodies. Check out Thunder, Hideaway or Wicked Ways....Street ready is also great song...guitars here are just PERFECT

From: Rene Date: September 26, 2003 at 18:34
If this album is to heavy for some people, then something is wrong with them. This is just a cool U.S MELODIC METAL album that i love. Anyway, i love everything between AOR and BLACK, THRASH, BLACK METAL but always from the 80s or with a 80s sound and attitude. HAIL TO 80S METALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

From: robert Date: September 26, 2003 at 20:05
Q buena banda, q buen Heavy hacian!! recomendado para los q gusten d sonidos potentes.

From: Edwin Date: January 16, 2004 at 21:31
A must! Even better than the self titled second CD. This is more metal, but don't let that scare you ! They are soooooooo melodic. Heaven for metal heads that love Journey!

From: kskkerim Date: January 20, 2004 at 8:32
this is a perfect shot,8th wonder of the world

From: Big Mike Date: April 7, 2004 at 16:49
Hideaway/The way I feel......classics. leatherwolf's best album.

From: BRM Date: May 22, 2004 at 11:22
Good CD, I'm wondering if anybody remembers, knows or has any info of a band called LAMONT who appears on the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD pt.II soundtrack along with these guys, they sang FLESH TO FLESH. They seemed to be in the same league as these.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 27, 2004 at 20:01
I prefer this one over the more popular 1987 release. They do a nice mix of hair metal and more heavier euro-sounding metal. Tracks like "Street Ready" and "Thunder" are good examples of the sound. 8/10

From: Rick Thunder Date: July 16, 2004 at 5:48
LEATHERWOLF IS A BAND WITH TOO MUCH PERSONALITY. THEY'RE STRONG LIKE THE STEEL, THEY HIT YOUR HEAD AND SHUT UP YOUR MOUTH WITH THEIR MUSIC, ALL THIS ALBUM IS GREAT, BUT PAY ATTENTION TO THE " THUNDER " SONG, ONE OF MY FAVE SONGS, IT'S GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS TOO HARD

From: Date: September 23, 2004 at 16:13
hideaway a killer song, very good album, buy it, you need it

From: Geoff Date: September 23, 2004 at 18:23
Brillaint is a pretty accurate way to describe this disc. Possibly the biggest backing vocals ever recorded, along with awesome killer hard rock riffs and songs. 'Street Ready' is an awesome hard rocker, 'Hideaway' is a stunning, beautiful hard hitting song and my fave, 'Thunder' is a hard rocking gem, 'The Way I Feel' is a nother highlight, 'Lonely Road' is one of my faves, with awesome layers of vocals - killer song.Spirits In The Wind' is a great closer too. Awesome album!!!

From: Kip Date: September 28, 2004 at 3:53
Leatherwolf shed their unique heavy AOR sound from their last CD for a more commericial melodic 80's metal approach, and they succeed with flying colors. Thunder is one of the finest melodic metal tracks you will find anywhere. The guitar melodies, hooks, and solos are outstanding in it, as is the high energy vocals which are done so perfectly, when he sings "I am the Thunder that starts the rain!" You will acutally believe him. But every song here is a standout. Highly recommended! 9.8/10

From: Rycheage Date: September 28, 2004 at 18:44
As good as the debut was, this seems more mature and polished. "Street Ready", "Wicked Ways", "Hideaway" and "Spirits In The Wind" are impeccable hard rock songs. The structures are strong and cohesive. The musicianship is extraordinary. There is not a bad song or a song I would regularly skip over. Excellent hair metal as it was meant to be played.

From: Kryiis Karl Date: November 4, 2004 at 14:14
Yes, this is a pure great Heavy US release. Making such a good album and not encountering success often leads to band explosion... The only thing that would need to be updated is the sound. With modern production, no problem, this release would kick many today's asses.

From: Metalhead66 Date: November 11, 2004 at 17:11
This is they're best!!Man these guys can shred. This was a group that was so good that no one even complained about all the solos...Very guitar heavy, but not over doing it. The Songs came first! Great production,Great rhythm section...9/10!!

From: Rich Date: January 30, 2005 at 16:13
This is easily one of the BEST bands, and best albums of the genre!! Melodic vocals, KILLER guitar, and just all around kick ass! It's a shame that these guys are not more widely recognized and appreciated for their own unique brand of metal.

From: Lennie Date: March 18, 2005 at 11:27
I was just reading the top 25 rated albums and saw there is a Leatherwolf album featured which reminded me of this gem which I hadnt played in years! Thunder is indeed a top track with a great guitar solo ending. The title track is also a blast. A great example of melodic metal!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 7, 2006 at 17:46

From: Figge Date: October 15, 2006 at 18:45
One of my all time favourite hard rock/metal acts. This album is a real gem and I played it to death when it was released. The same titled 1987 release is also excellent. Michael Olivieri is a supervocalist!

From: Mustaine_TW Date: November 10, 2006 at 8:32
The best Leatherwolf release.

From: metalhead4life Date: December 13, 2006 at 14:14
Killer triple guitar action; cool/good vocals; powerful drums and bass; this is their best album in my opinion; top notch hard rock/metal that will not leave you disappointed. Smokin!

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: January 12, 2007 at 19:51
Nice album, the twin-guitar work is great, but i dont consider it to be a classic. 8/10

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: January 12, 2007 at 19:53
oops! not "twin-guitar work", actually there are 3 guitars! I found that fact a little stupid, theres no need to use 3 guitars!

From: headbanger4life Date: February 2, 2007 at 3:56
Damn, I love this one. It's hard. It's melodic. The vocalist can hit those high notes perfectly. It's got great backing vocals. It just F'n kicks a$$. Stand out tracks for me would have to be 'Wicked Ways', 'Street Ready, 'Spirits In The Wind' but 'Hideaway' takes the cake as being my favorite. I've heard comments that these guys were over-hyped and there were other bands just as good. That may be so, but these guys left a lasting impression on me.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: November 5, 2007 at 12:41
huge CD 97/100 another CLASSIC album by a very underated BAND GREAT SONGS('wicked ways''too much') and very good musical performances triple axe attack('black knight')AMAZING GANG BACKING VOCALS('thunder''street ready''take a chance')HEAVY but with a strong focus on melodies TECHNICAL but with a strong focus on headbandging MELODIC but not cheesy MICHAEL OLIVERI is a very unique singer with high pitch but a lot of balls !glad he was back now ! U can find easily the remaster edition

From: themartin Date: December 6, 2007 at 14:25
Awesome!!!!. A very underrated band, This should have been HUGE! best tracks: "Street ready", "Thunder", "Hideaway", "Lonely Road", "Wicked Ways" uff almost the entire album!!!!

From: lalorock Date: December 6, 2007 at 23:24

From: rockhardrock Date: March 25, 2009 at 9:43
superb melodic heavy metal album! too bad they didn't become more popular. standout tracks: Wicked Ways, Street Ready, Hideaway, Black Knight, Lonely Road.

From: Metal T Date: September 1, 2009 at 23:18
As mentioned above, was an absolute hard rock/metal gem...top notch guitars/musicianship and some "prime grade A" vox from Micheal Olivieri.Band always played like they weren't freakin' kidding. These guys just plain kicked the living crap out of most of their peers period.Probably like the third disc i ever bought.Great band & album!

From: metalhead4life Date: September 2, 2009 at 11:17
I'll second what Metal T said. There's really not a bad song on here. Ballsy-kick ass hard rock on the verge of metal in spots with top notch musicianship and production. Tasty guitar licks you'll love. Lots of energy and hooks; put this one on and let it play all the way through. Melodic hard rock gem. 93/100

From: JamesEagle Date: October 22, 2009 at 9:26
Even better than the 1987 self-titled album, which was also very good. A number of good tracks, but 'Hideaway' and 'Lonely Road' are outstanding, just perfect heavy rock songs. Sadly seems quite hard to get hold of, but a great album.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 16, 2011 at 8:17
From the big-hair-and-baddass-leather school of late 80s commercial hard rock comes this band's sophomore outing, and if you love beefy guitar riffs, anthemic choruses, and gigantic backing vocals, you'll eat this up like a starving wolf chowing down on a wounded lamb. Three or four tracks have to be slotted into the filler category, making this less than a classic, but the remaining songs perfectly encapsulate everything that was wonderful about the 80s metal scene. If you're ready to rock, then grab this album and go for it.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 24, 2011 at 21:21
According to some experts this is their best work...in my case and IMHO i think that Leatherwolf's sound is best described in their previews ones and this...this release is like the end of the trilogy of the band, the essential to have at least, after that, another sound and more or less good albums but without the punch of the past..."Lonely Road" is my fave..."Street Ready","Hideaway","Black Knight"(rocking instrumental),"Thunder","Too Much" & the bonus drum solo instrumental track "Black Jack" are really worthy tracks too...get it!.89/100

From: petermexico13 Date: January 26, 2018 at 17:10
For Me their best álbum, Leatherwolf is killer! Great solos,Carey Howe and Geoff Gayer are a fantastic duo! Produced by Kevin Beamish.

From: edwithmj Date: February 6, 2018 at 8:31
This is quickly turning into one of my favourite albums ever. I consider this album to be a slightly heavier, darker companion to Fifth Angel's equally excellent Time Will Tell album. The vocals are haunting, the lyrics dark and forboding and the guitars and melodies are some of the best I've ever heard. It's hard to pick a favourite but Hideaway Take a Chance and The Way I Feel certainly get more play than the others but really, I often listen to this from start to finish without getting the slightest bit bored.
