Awesome sequal to the self titled debut. Did you know that there is an album before the self titled debut? It's on Tropical Records. Try to fond that one...(I have it, he he he)

I found this little gem at a 2nd hand shop and loved it from the first listen. Strong vocals and fantastic guitar work especially on the catchy "thunder". Very consistent and I would recommend it to anyone who is into melodic/power metal.

This is one of the greatest albums of all time. The songs Street Ready & Thunder are the two of the greatest anthems of all time. I have all four of there cds, and Street Ready is there best followed by the s/t ('87). Then the s/t ('84, also known as Endangered Species) was pretty good, it's a little more on the thrash side. There latest album is Wide Open (Live Album), not bad but the backing vocals were a little weak. Leatherwolf Rules!!!! Metal 4 Life

Good band. Excellent musicians, quite competent on their respective instruments. Great song arrangements, better than most metal acts, but their still no RUSH, METALLICA or CRIMSON GLORY!! I really enjoy this album, definately their best, catchy tunes and hard hitting at times!!

Metal masterpiece, triple axe attack is incredible, the guitar solos on this smoke three awesome guitarists trying to outdo each other. Great song structures as well a definate must have if you are into guitar playing. The other 2 Leatherwolf CDs are worth getting as well, they have been rereleased so they are affordable. 7/10

Very, very good album...A nice blend of Thrash and commercial heavy rock...The melodies are really unique for an american band. I tend to hear both Helstar and Helloween influences in their sound but then again I guess Leatherwolf was on the scene before the bands I just mentioned...The track "Thunder" is an absolute classic! What a masterpiece. The guitars are perfect too...Just a damn perfect album. I'll never grow tired of this band although I'm normally into softer stuff.

Leatherwolf rocks! This album is killer from beginning to end - "The Way I Feel" sums up the 80s for me. Great kickin' power ballad...Definitely recommended for anyone who likes 80s hard rock. Leatherwolf is definitely one of the underrated bands of that time.

This is what i call melodic metal. Too heavy for some people but for me definately not!!. Great songs with outstanding melodies. Check out Thunder, Hideaway or Wicked Ways....Street ready is also great song...guitars here are just PERFECT

If this album is to heavy for some people, then something is wrong with them. This is just a cool U.S MELODIC METAL album that i love. Anyway, i love everything between AOR and BLACK, THRASH, BLACK METAL but always from the 80s or with a 80s sound and attitude. HAIL TO 80S METALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

Good CD, I'm wondering if anybody remembers, knows or has any info of a band called LAMONT who appears on the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD pt.II soundtrack along with these guys, they sang FLESH TO FLESH. They seemed to be in the same league as these.

I prefer this one over the more popular 1987 release. They do a nice mix of hair metal and more heavier euro-sounding metal. Tracks like "Street Ready" and "Thunder" are good examples of the sound. 8/10

LEATHERWOLF IS A BAND WITH TOO MUCH PERSONALITY. THEY'RE STRONG LIKE THE STEEL, THEY HIT YOUR HEAD AND SHUT UP YOUR MOUTH WITH THEIR MUSIC, ALL THIS ALBUM IS GREAT, BUT PAY ATTENTION TO THE " THUNDER " SONG, ONE OF MY FAVE SONGS, IT'S GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS TOO HARD

Brillaint is a pretty accurate way to describe this disc. Possibly the biggest backing vocals ever recorded, along with awesome killer hard rock riffs and songs. 'Street Ready' is an awesome hard rocker, 'Hideaway' is a stunning, beautiful hard hitting song and my fave, 'Thunder' is a hard rocking gem, 'The Way I Feel' is a nother highlight, 'Lonely Road' is one of my faves, with awesome layers of vocals - killer song.Spirits In The Wind' is a great closer too. Awesome album!!!

Leatherwolf shed their unique heavy AOR sound from their last CD for a more commericial melodic 80's metal approach, and they succeed with flying colors. Thunder is one of the finest melodic metal tracks you will find anywhere. The guitar melodies, hooks, and solos are outstanding in it, as is the high energy vocals which are done so perfectly, when he sings "I am the Thunder that starts the rain!" You will acutally believe him. But every song here is a standout. Highly recommended! 9.8/10

As good as the debut was, this seems more mature and polished. "Street Ready", "Wicked Ways", "Hideaway" and "Spirits In The Wind" are impeccable hard rock songs. The structures are strong and cohesive. The musicianship is extraordinary. There is not a bad song or a song I would regularly skip over. Excellent hair metal as it was meant to be played.

Yes, this is a pure great Heavy US release. Making such a good album and not encountering success often leads to band explosion... The only thing that would need to be updated is the sound. With modern production, no problem, this release would kick many today's asses.

This is easily one of the BEST bands, and best albums of the genre!! Melodic vocals, KILLER guitar, and just all around kick ass! It's a shame that these guys are not more widely recognized and appreciated for their own unique brand of metal.

I was just reading the top 25 rated albums and saw there is a Leatherwolf album featured which reminded me of this gem which I hadnt played in years! Thunder is indeed a top track with a great guitar solo ending. The title track is also a blast. A great example of melodic metal!

Damn, I love this one. It's hard. It's melodic. The vocalist can hit those high notes perfectly. It's got great backing vocals. It just F'n kicks a$$. Stand out tracks for me would have to be 'Wicked Ways', 'Street Ready, 'Spirits In The Wind' but 'Hideaway' takes the cake as being my favorite. I've heard comments that these guys were over-hyped and there were other bands just as good. That may be so, but these guys left a lasting impression on me.

I'll second what Metal T said. There's really not a bad song on here. Ballsy-kick ass hard rock on the verge of metal in spots with top notch musicianship and production. Tasty guitar licks you'll love. Lots of energy and hooks; put this one on and let it play all the way through. Melodic hard rock gem. 93/100

Even better than the 1987 self-titled album, which was also very good. A number of good tracks, but 'Hideaway' and 'Lonely Road' are outstanding, just perfect heavy rock songs. Sadly seems quite hard to get hold of, but a great album.

From: metalmaniac777 |

From the big-hair-and-baddass-leather school of late 80s commercial hard rock comes this band's sophomore outing, and if you love beefy guitar riffs, anthemic choruses, and gigantic backing vocals, you'll eat this up like a starving wolf chowing down on a wounded lamb. Three or four tracks have to be slotted into the filler category, making this less than a classic, but the remaining songs perfectly encapsulate everything that was wonderful about the 80s metal scene. If you're ready to rock, then grab this album and go for it.

According to some experts this is their best work...in my case and IMHO i think that Leatherwolf's sound is best described in their previews ones and this...this release is like the end of the trilogy of the band, the essential to have at least, after that, another sound and more or less good albums but without the punch of the past..."Lonely Road" is my fave..."Street Ready","Hideaway","Black Knight"(rocking instrumental),"Thunder","Too Much" & the bonus drum solo instrumental track "Black Jack" are really worthy tracks too...get it!.89/100

For Me their best álbum, Leatherwolf is killer! Great solos,Carey Howe and Geoff Gayer are a fantastic duo! Produced by Kevin Beamish.

This is quickly turning into one of my favourite albums ever. I consider this album to be a slightly heavier, darker companion to Fifth Angel's equally excellent Time Will Tell album. The vocals are haunting, the lyrics dark and forboding and the guitars and melodies are some of the best I've ever heard. It's hard to pick a favourite but Hideaway Take a Chance and The Way I Feel certainly get more play than the others but really, I often listen to this from start to finish without getting the slightest bit bored.
