another heavy metal classic. As with Leatherwolf (1984) this one is hard to find, which is a shame. It's better than a lot of stuff released on mega-selling bands on major labels.

Scott--you have great taste in metal! A band like Leatherwolf' were definitely better than the bulk of the mega-million seller bands-- (Motley,Poison,Skid Row etc).A band like XYZ also comes to mind,in that that were a killer group, like Leatherwolf' that could f**k up most of the more popular acts .

Good CD, I'm wondering if anybody remembers, knows or has any info of a band called LAMONT who appears on the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD pt.II soundtrack along with these guys, they sang FLESH TO FLESH. They seemed to be in the same league as these.

Never understood the big deal with these guys. Sure, they have three guitarists, but that does them no good when the mix makes it sound like on and a half guitars most of the time. If more tracks were like 'The Calling', I would be a bigger fan. 6/10

I only knew of the video to 'The Calling' when I heard Leatherwolf. I borrowed the cd from a friend and I was hooked! I don't entirely understand why you need three guitarists in a band, but still a monster of an album none-the-less.

I much prefer the second release, but these guys are a great band under an circumstance. This is a great melodic metal CD - I like it a lot!

This is an awesome CD. With so many high octane tunes infused by melodic keyboards and guitar, including a stellar vocal performance, this is one of the more underrated bands. The opening track is one of my favorite opening tunes on any CD, as it builds and grows in a 2 minute span from an acoustic sound to electric, to all out rockin' melody filled with catchy hooks. Every song here is a classic except the badly overdone cover of Bad Moon Rising. Tracks 1,2,4,5,7 and 9 are my favorites! 9/10!

This one I didn't like as much as the awesome Street Ready. I have a Copy of the C.D. that has been Autographed by the band.It is an okay release, but I thought it was kinda Mellow?? They're still an ass kicking band...Great Guitar Players,Great songs,Great sound. We need more bands that can play....7/10!

Great heavy epic album!!!! One of the best ever released!!!!! Leatherwolf was a great band back then... 'Street Ready' is a good album but defenitely not better than this one!!!! If you love pure heavy metal music with some epic elements then Leatherwolf is your band!!! Great solos and fantastic polyphonic vocals!!!!

I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I never really understood what all the whoop-de-doo was about this band. Yea, there are a couple of decent tracks ("The Calling," "Gypsies & Thieves" and the cover of CCR's "Bad Moon Rising") but overall there were a lot of other bands doing the same sort of thing back in '87, a lot better

It doesn't get better than Leatherwolf when it comes to melodic metal/hard rock. This is easily one of the most played vinyls in my collection, along with their third release "Street Ready"....which I rate even higher. Fantastic albums both.

While 'Street Ready' is my favorite release by these guys, this one should not be ingnored. It has some great music on it. I just think that they kept getting better with each album they put out. For me, these guys are what melodic metal is all about.

"Rise or Fall" one of the best metalsongs ever done!!!

Horrific (thin and muddy) production, but absolutely killer tunes. To my ears, much better than their other releases because of the enormous choruses. Cannot think of a bad track on this, but _Rise or Fall_, _Cry Out_, _We Rule The Night_, and _The Calling_ are nothing short of classics.

HUGE CD 97/100 a TRUE CLASSIC among the 80's US POWER METAL CLASSICS HUGE backing vocals The songs are absolutely killer i'am agree with FiglT but the production is not as bad ! I think PRODUCER KEVIN BEAMISH (SAXON/REO SPEEDWAGON/Y&T/KEEL/D'MOLLS/CONTRABAND)and engineer BRUCE BARRIS(Y&T/SANCTUARY)are good but it was 20 years ago All songs are perfect especially 'rise or fall''the calling''gypsies and thieves'and the huge JOHN FOGERTY cover 'bad moon rising' GREAT buy it !

Very good album, 'The Calling' and 'Share a Dream' are incredibly good rock songs. They stand out in this album, although there are other good songs here. Nice.

This band must be on the heavier end of the spectrum on HH. I admit I am a fan. There is one song I can't ever get out of my head from this release: "Cry Out". It's almost the perfect tune as far as my tastes go. The Calling is the other indispensable song. Not saying the rest of the album shirks but those two tracks are next league. This is a very solid, tight, denim-style, working man's US heavy metal band. I love it. 88/100.
