A heavy metal classic. It's a shame this one is not more readily available.

has that eraly iron maiden feel about it. Not especially melodic.

Good CD, I'm wondering if anybody remembers, knows or has any info of a band called LAMONT who appears on the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD pt.II soundtrack along with these guys, they sang FLESH TO FLESH. They seemed to be in the same league as these.

This is an incredible disc.-Nice harmony leads from Gayer,Howe and Olivieri (yep, the singer plays lead too). The songs were alot heavier (which i like) on this one as opposed to their next 2 albums, but those records crank as well."The Hook" and "Spiter" are pure metal.A d*mn shame that "Leatherwolf" never really hit it big, considering they could've blown away more than half of the bands in the genre . ----

If you love Leatherwolf's last 2 studio CD's, chances are you won't love this one as much, as the song structures are very different. The music isn't hook-driven and you won't find keyboards anywhere here. At times it seems as if the song structure is very loose, and there is no set verse, bridge, chorus, so it may take time to get used to. It's isn't particularly melodic and the tunes aren't memorable, but there is talent to be heard here in the guitar playing and the vocals. Track 2 is cool.

Oh yeah, and the cover is wicked cool too.

A good friend of mine turned me on to Leatherwolf back in the early 80's, so glad he did turned out to be one of my top 3 favorites!! You really can't go wrong with any Leatherwolf purchase! I have worn out many Air Guitars listening to these guys!!Was fortunate enough to see them live a few times in small clubs and there even better live!! Very cool dudes as well, wish M.Olivieri would not have left the band hell of a nice guy great vocalist!! and plays a mean guitar too!! Simply the best!!

Very Good Heavy Metal album, muy buen disco si lo tuyo es Maiden(de la primera mitad) los putos amos del Heavy (junto a Judas) entonces este es infaltable para un Metalero de verdad 4 Stars.

GOOD CD 90/100 US 80's MELODIC PROG POWER METAL with EUROPEAN twist VERY unique BAND with TRIPLE AXE ATTACK and high pitch VOCALIST from CALIFORNIA I recall back in the days paying a lot for the short vinyl version i was in love (and still) with this kind of POWER METAL and especially MATT HURICH bass playing ! I think he quit to join STRYPER but nothing more since then ! GREAT STUFF BUY IT

Isn't this one called "Endangered Species"?

From: metalhead4life Date: September 2, 2009 at 11:24
Not bad; pretty good metal from 1984; cool cover BTW. If you want to start out with Leatherwolf, go for the 1987 S/T one or "Street Ready" first as they are better than this one IMO. Production isn't as good and neither are the songs compared to the other two. This one gets a 78/100 from me. Haven't listened to it in a while so I may give a little higher rating after another listen.

From: shoemaker Date: September 2, 2009 at 12:58
Leatherwolf´s first strike raw power, less melody than the later albums but a good start for a great band.

The beginning of a band that deserved more IMO...this was a very good Ep or mini album(i own it on vinyl and the one posted here is the CD release of it with some extra cuts)...my fave is "Kill And Kill Again" another goodies(i'm talking about the Ep release)are "Spiter" & "Leatherwolf"...yeah,recommended for any Heavy Metal maniac out there!!!...80/100
