It's one of the best AOR CD's I've ever heard! The first 3 songs will make you buy it yesterday! It makes you kick your girlfriend's ass and go party all night long! As unbelieveble as Fair Warning!

Does anyone know when this album was first released?

This is from a review from www.nehrecoeds.com. The debut album was recorded in 1985. The band had some problems and was put on hold for many years. The debut Zeno album was ultimately re-released in Japan in 1993 and created an amazing reaction - selling more than 25.000 copies. The Japanese label Zero Corp. approached the band about doing a new album and a deal was set in 1994. Zenology was released in 1995.

I prefer "Heat of Emotion" from Fair Warning's debut, but is a quality song nonetheless. This album is worth buying purely for the track "Is it Love" with Tommy Heart singing. It is why I love this type of music, and is one of my all-time fave songs. Some of the others aren't bad either!

This is a very solid disc. Great musicianship and some awesome songs too, especially the opener - absolute killer song. I love the two Victory tunes too - 'Man on the run' and the alternate version of another track I forget off the top of my head. I like this CD, but if I recall it lost me a little towards the end / around the middle. Some classy songs though. For fans of Fair Warning.

Hey Paul, appreciate all your comments but do you have to type in capitals all the time? Makes it difficult to read and is considered shouting when typed. Cheers!

In general disappointing, worse than the debut. The first 4 songs are so beautiful, they make you fly to Heaven. But from "In the dark" to "Man on the run" they are not AOR anymore but average hard rock blues. The level gets higher and returns AOR with "Out in the night" but "You got me down" and "Ticket to nowhere" are still ugly and hard rock bluesy. 7/10

A solid album and the first three tracks are just mind-blowing. This is melodic rock in the vein of FAIR WARNING. I can hear a slightly bluesy approach to a couple of tracks, and while Zeno puts 2-3 fillers, overall this disc is absolutely above average. If you can get the Japanese Version, the four bonus tracks are tempting, very nice addition.

Compared to the debut the production is way better but the songs aren't as strong. Only tracks 1,2,3,4 caught my attention.

very good release for ZENO offering a commercial hard rock sound with polished production and many good songs without being great though!if you like bands like FAIR WARNING,FRONTLINE or BONFIRE then you should def pick Zenology up!"surviving the night" and :heat of emotion" are the highlights
