For me it's not true what heavy AOR says...Is Bormann that make this album very special and amazing..His voice is absolutely beautiful and powerful, i don't like much how zeno play in this record, some errors in the solos, and guitar sound very dirty and confused.. |

This album sure has been a long time in the making. 8 years, in fact. This is a slightly more experimental CD from Zeno, way more musical interludes/progressive elements in this CD than previous. But his guitar work is simply amazing,as are Bormann's vocals. Sadly though Zeno's talents dont extend to album production,as this sounds like a muddy mess. Even Zenology II (demos) sounded better. It is great not to have to listen to Flexig's horrible high-pitched screeching though. Excellent. 8/10. |

Being a huge zeno fan from day one, I find now 'Runway to the Gods' heavyly disappointing... this new singer Bormann does not fit at all, he sounds like one of these metals shouters, not knowing what they're doing... the songs sound a bit like Deja Vu on the 80ies (except 2 instr., they're great), the guitarplaying now sounds like a copy of Uli Jon Roth, in generell to say: very avarage and disappointing. I am missing the original and outstanding vocalist Michael Flexig a lot - as AOR above said |

I personally think this is pretty bad, no offence intended. I love Bormann and all his previous work but this is by far his weakest project yet, IMO. The songs and musical backing, IMO, just isn't up to scratch with what has backed Bormann previously. The song writing is extremely inferior and this just comes across as noise to me. I honestly mean no offence to fans - to each their own, but for me Zeno have never done anything for me and IMO this is his/their worst CD yet. |
