Been waiting a long time for this one and it hasn't disapointed me. David Saylor (Push UK, Wild Rose) is a great singer and this is his best work since the Push UK demos way back in the day. 'Kiss Of Judas' (originally by UK AORsters Outside Edge) is a fine rocking tune that possibly even Desmond Child could have wrote. It's better than the original too. 'If Only' is a mid pace AOR scorcher with great vocals and harmonies and 'Ana' is a cracking Lukather type Toto ballad with a superb chorus. 'Tonight' is another fine mid paced belter of a tune that features heavily on the vocals of Saylor, great guitar riff and those loveable 80's keyboards. 'True Reflection' is a fantastic reworking of an old song of his own. Chunky riffs and superb harmonies are the order of the day here. 'Now I'm Free' follows on where True Reflection left off with a chugging riff, harmonies galore, those keyboards and a simple but incredibly effective chorus bringing a smile to the face. a couple of Push UK numbers recently recorded in an acoustic session. Personally i would have loved another couple of new numbers like the rest of the cd. Overall 'Kiss Of Judas' is a great piece of work from an extremely talented singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist and follows on very nicely from last years 'City Of Angels' release. Fans of 80's and 90's AOR but still sounding extremely fresh in these days will absolutely love this. Excellent. Hurry though as it's very limited. |

David Saylor looks like a McDonald's manager but he has a voice like an Angel. Saylor pursued a solo career in the 90’s pop market in the Spanish speaking countries achieving a decent level of success. He has evaded any real mainstream success in the States/Europe but he is a talent as the acoustic songs he sings on this one are superior to the PUSH UK versions as they just melt in your ears. This is also the heaviest(I use that word lightly) of his 3 solo releases. I like a few songs on the other 2 albums but overall they are a little to light weight for my taste. Well written catchy, edgey AOR tracks on this one. This release only had a pressing of 1,000 cd's for this EP http://depositfiles.com/files/5y16o2phi PASSWORD : music (sample track) http://www.mp3oob.com/mp3-downloads-david-a-saylor-strange-world-acoustic-171699.html |
