Kool cd!! Great Grooves and lyrics. I got the bootleg of their unreleased 2nd cd and it would have put this one to shame. Too bad it was never released. t_welt@hotmail.com

From: Steve T Date: March 9, 2002 at 14:20
The 2nd unreleased album is 1000 times better than this album.

From: P.C. Date: March 17, 2002 at 13:02
I like end of 80s hard rock , but this is very bad band . One bad CD & one bad tour with Extreme in Europe . Thatīs all.

From: kingofdc Date: April 6, 2002 at 10:02
This cd is from the best non-mainstream rock bands ever. Their funk/rock style would get your feet moving in the club. Was working in a club when they opened for Lynch Mob and they stole the show. This cd rocks from beginning to end and if your lucky enough to get your hands on the second unreleased cd, make a second copy immediately because you will wear the first one out!

From: Desslar Date: April 8, 2002 at 1:53
Interesting in a funky party rock sort of way, but ultimately the songwriting is rather mediocre. And what's up with that cover? Awful.

I really couldn't get into this one. At times I almost liked it then they'd blow it. I'll take Steve T's advice and try the 2nd album.

From: Reno Date: May 9, 2002 at 17:50
The 2nd was never released TIM. Your only hope is to find someone with a CDR of it. It's much more rock oriented than the first cd. A little funk, but done very well. I have a copy. These are the tracks. 1)What Kind Of Man Do You Think I Am 2)Save It For Yourself 3)When I Get My Hands On You 4)What You See Is What You Get 5)Someday 6)Tonight 7)Just A Little Bit Of Love Is All You Need 8)Your mama Never told You 'bout Me 9)Comin' Up The Hard Way 10)Little Lisa

i used to play the same circuits in st. louis as these guys, they used to be called broken toyz, wore dresses and had a barbeque on stage for mother's day----will someone with a copy of this unreleased 2nd cd please contact me at boytoy127@mchsi.com---this cd rules and i can't imagine the second being as good as everyone says it is------killer party band!! frankie now fronts a 70's tribute funk/dance outfit called dr. zhavegas and still packs the houses-----

From: koogles Date: July 12, 2002 at 15:54
These guys actually hit the Billboard Hot 100??!! "If I Say" somehow peaked at no. 63. Must have been a slow month or something, because these guys are VERY mediocre. "Something 'Bout You" is a worthwhile wah-wah rocker, "Place in My Heart" tries really hard to be a Poison ballad, but that's about it. The cover of the CD sucks even worse than the music. Even the band's name should be treated with propane and propane accessories, then set promptly on fire and left to burn.

From: RoxxGangFan Date: October 22, 2002 at 23:06
I just saw on ebay that Frankie put out a CD in 1996 under the band name "BIG FAT LOVE". I have no idea what it sounds like, but it might be worth checking out?? Does anybody know about this Big Fat Love CD?

From: Kevin Date: October 30, 2002 at 11:07
Yeah, this group is part of the reason grunge took over. Horrible stuff. I remember when the video for 'I Do U' came out and thought I was going to vomit. Poor-man's Extreme.

GOOD GOD Y'ALL!! Finally got my hands on the unreleased second album from these funksters and all I can say is WOW! Frankie and the boys lose a bit of the funk in favor of some classic rock riffery and it works like a charm. Album #1 gave us a glimpse, but this is much more mature and energetic. Props to Tyrone for getting this for me. Somebody should release this man! If we can have multiple Unruly Child CD's then certainly we can get KOTH 2! By the way, Beau Nasty still sucks cat nuts.

From: Brett Date: March 14, 2003 at 14:00
I had this tape when it came out in 1991 and wore its ass out. I've been looking for it for 12 yearas and finally found it in a second hand store. Could somebody help me to download or buy 2nd release? breeves528@aol.com

Never really got into this band back in the day but...better late than never. "If I Say" is by far my favorite song..Jimmy Griffin kicks ass...too bad I never got to see them live. Wouldn't mind checking out Dr. Zhivages though. Anyone know if Jimmy is still playing in a band?

From: Jeff Date: May 13, 2003 at 2:07
i have never heard them before, can anyone tell me where to download anything by them, preferably the unreleased cd

From: Livebait Date: May 21, 2003 at 0:27
What's wrong with you people?! Both of Kingofthehill's albums are absolute quality! This band has an incredible musical chemistry and not one song falls short of any of the others. At the very least it's an attempt at some hard rock originality and in my books the boys pulled off a classic. Well done.

From: metalhead4ever Date: May 26, 2003 at 18:45
I'm looking for the second album if someone would be able to burn me a copy i'd be willing to pay for the cd and shipping. Please let me know. metal4ever@fastmail.fm

From: georgepotsos Date: May 27, 2003 at 4:12
wow! unreal Im the bassist from kingofthehill just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the good or bad reviews on our first effort Im just happy to see people taking out time to listen to music and respond to artist like this I think its fantastic! but everyone is right the second album to me is much cooler but still not as cool as the third unrleased cd that we did ourselves Im trying to get the band back together and have a second go at it only the right way this time. thanks you guys so much

From: FAB Date: May 27, 2003 at 20:18
Great band! a classic album from 1990, i got the video of "i do u" in a video tape (recorded on UK MTV's headbanger's ball back in the day) and i still like to watch it once in a while, always a blast, pure entertainment. Frankie sure is a frontman, born to rock n' groove. in 1990, got this album on a tape (with Slammin' Gladys on the b-side) and i listened to it countless times, bring back so much good memories of my college days. got it on cd now, and it's still cool n'fresh as the first day!!

From: tomcat Date: May 27, 2003 at 23:05
i remember watching the video for 'if i say', together with my highschool love, and turning up 'electric riot' at a party . their second album should be released ...only for the song 'hands on you', peace

From: justin Date: July 19, 2003 at 2:43
hey there im looking for a copy of their second cd and if anyone can help my email address is sumluvin4u2@yahoo.com that would be great thanx.

From: Gar Date: September 7, 2003 at 15:23
I really liked this one. Catchy "hair metal" combined with elements of Funk, they created their own style rather than sounding like most of the "Funk-metal" of the time. True, the ballads sound more than a little like Poison but that's not such a bad thing. There's enough originality on the other tracks to make up for this.

From: msheadbanger Date: November 5, 2003 at 16:51
Hi I would appreciate it if someone could burn me a copy of the unreleased 2nd cd and mail it to me. Please email me @ msheadbanger03@yahoo.com.

From: AOR Freaky Date: December 1, 2003 at 12:11
Boy, indeed, this is so excellent ! BRILLIANT ! Frankie has a fantastic voice and also the songs are truly fantastic ! This is indeed AOR HEAVEN !!!!!

From: Jay Date: February 3, 2004 at 23:19
What's the correct name of this band? Is it "Kingofthehill" or "King Of The Hill"?

From: Reno Date: February 4, 2004 at 7:27
Kingofthehill is correct. Just look at the cd cover.

From: Russ Date: March 7, 2004 at 14:21
Just added my rating to boost this a little, it's a great album - they were excellant live on the UK Extreme tour - I was front row and got the full force. They were much better live than on the album.

From: Stevo Date: April 15, 2004 at 18:20
The first album kicked ass. KOTH kicked ass. Probably one of my 10 fav albums of all time. Back in 91 when it came out, there really wasn't anything like it. So what if it had a few "poison" ballads. Too bad i've never gotten to hear the unreleased follow up. Screw "grunge" and their dirty flannel shirts, and the bubble gum "punk" that's out now. Those "punk" guys are so musically untalented it's pathetic. I wish some 80's type stuff similar to KOTH, GNR, etc would come back again! The 80s ruled

From: Stevo Date: April 15, 2004 at 21:13
One more comment i'd like to post. To georgepotsos...if ya ever check back here, i wanted to say congrats on being part of such a fine band with what was truly an original sound at the time. I still listen to the first album sometimes, and it's always just as good as when it was new. Good luck getting the band back together too, i'd love to see what u guys would come up with this time around!

From: Matt from Mars Date: April 20, 2004 at 17:52
I bought the "I do U" single from a store in San Luis Obispo. I bought it because the guys looked like such drugged out, partied out hair farmers. I can only imagine what the tours were like. The song "I do U" is very catchy, and still amuses me. "I .. Do .. U .. Do You .. Do .. Too!" Poetry!

From: Blaklabel1919 Date: April 30, 2004 at 22:58
i have heard about the second album for YEARS now!!! im have been trying to get ahold of a copy, but thus far i have had no luck. if anyone could help me out it would be GREATLY appreciated Axxman@consolidated.net

From: Steveack Date: June 30, 2004 at 18:59
If anyone has the second unreleased CD I will pay for CD and shipping if they would be kind enough to burn it for me. Thanks.

From: RattnRoll Date: July 16, 2004 at 4:32
The album is actually pretty good once you look past the more than hideous artwork. It's got influences from early Danger Danger (If I say), to Extreme (I do U) and Poison (Roses) and this goes on and on and actually makes it a varied album and very worth while. If you find a copy on Ebay for a few bucks pick it up, ya wont be sorry.

From: David Date: August 18, 2004 at 6:34
King Of The Hill's second album, believe you me was 100 times better than this one. Trust me, some of the best late 80's, early 90's hard rock I've ever heard. It's such a crime that this great music hasn't been released yet. The song writing on the second album was OUTSTANDING!!!!! It makes commecial sence, if someone released this stuff it would be finacailly huge!! They apparentlly did a third album that was EVEN BETTER but I haven't heard it.

From: Geoff Date: August 18, 2004 at 8:03
This is a cool CD in my books. I have a lot of time for the two great ballads, 'If I say' and 'Place in my heart' - really dig both of them. I also love 'Something about you', the opening track and 'Roses'. Overall, like many there are fillers but there are some great songs on this one. The proposed second CD, I agree had some immense songs on it, but also a few I don't agree with. Not even sure if I prefer it to this debut. A bit funkier in places if I recall correctly...

From: john Date: September 10, 2004 at 13:20
would love a copy of both of these please. johnsherwood@mchsi.com

GEORGE POTSOS here bassist for kinofthehill yes the second and third CD kick are first CDS ass if you want to here it get a hold of me we have had record companys offer us another deal but the other guys are reluctant to get back together (dumbasses) we could do it and have a blast and make some cash if enough people get a hold of me it might happen thanks to all who dig the band gp

I've just been speaking to George Potsos (The bassist) and he is in the process of cutting a deal with Z Records to release their 2nd & 3rd unreleased cd's which is very exciting. I'm sure it will be Z Records's big hit yet!! I've heard the second album and trust me, it's brilliant!!! George thinks the 3rd is even better!! He is also very keen on writing some new material for a new disc but he has to convince the rest of the band first. So I suggest everyone who supports this kind music, buy!!

From: D. Whited Date: October 10, 2004 at 4:38
KINGOFTHEHILL was a band of great players. If you were not there at the time you missed out. One of the best live groups I`ve ever seen. In my opinion speaks volumes. Let`s hope they get it together for another round of butt kicking rock and roll. Party down with your bad self brother. Cool? Get over the photo on the record. Please.

From: machinefish Date: October 11, 2004 at 7:25
where in the hell can i find this second album??????

From: Date: October 15, 2004 at 3:23
I was rumaging through my old old tapes tonight and my eyes went right to this one. I immediately came over to the net and went looking. Very pleased, to say the least, that there is this crazy community of KOTH fans still knockin down doors. These guys rocked me way back when I was in my early twenty's. Saw them in Grand Rapids, Mich. in 1991. Hey guys, it's never to late. I'm 34 now and just inked my first deal. Longtime comin'. We all want to see you do it again. Come on!

From: David Date: October 15, 2004 at 3:35
I think we can expect the 2 AWESOME!!! unreleased albums released mid next years. Trust me, these 2 albums are gonna blow most people away!!

From: Wyrm Date: November 15, 2004 at 6:57
The did a hilarious cover live: "Wild thing, you make my d*ck swing".

From: Mertz Date: November 15, 2004 at 15:19
Awful release, stuff like this only accelerated the labels to change trends even faster. Along with White Trash and Slammin' Gladys this album was just dire.

From: Hairball John Date: November 26, 2004 at 21:43
I saw these guys with Steelheart in a California club. Great show! We got a request for "I Do You" and it brought all the memories flooding back. From: cook_jaime Date: January 11, 2005 at 14:30
The cover may have put people off. If you can get past it though you'll find a decent album. Kind of glam/funk hard rock. Give it a 6.

I am glad to say I am going to the Pagent tonight to see Frankie and the boyz reunion show. They are also releasing KINGOFTHEHILL UNRELEASED CD. This has been a long time coming. I have a copy of the 2nd cd and it rocks. I remeber the good times back at STAGES and GRANNY'S ROCKER watching them as Broken Toyz and KOTH. I would love to see these guys stay back together and rock out. They have such a unique sound of their own. Peace.... Brian

From: brian Date: December 28, 2005 at 15:39

From: brian Date: December 29, 2005 at 1:18
THE SHOW ROCKED TONIGHT!!!! I picked up a copy of KOTH UNRELEASED. Some different songs than the one circulating on thr bootleg version. But many of the same songs... Go to www.kingofthehill.net and you can buy a copy of it.

From: T-Bone Date: January 9, 2006 at 5:56
I still don't see anywhere where you can order the Kingofthehill II cd on that site you posted. It's only an advertisment for them playing at the Pageant. Are you seeing something that I'm not?

From: brian Date: January 16, 2006 at 16:05
T-Bone Well the night of the show they said the cd would also be available on their website. Maybe they are delaying on that??? Anyhow, I am really digging it. Hopefully they will release it on their website. I would also watch I-Tunes too. I have seen Frankie release personal solo songs on there before. Maybe this cd will too.

This is a good cd with some very good song, some funky elements sometimes but this true commercial hard rock.I don't hear fillers, just catchy hard rock!

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 7, 2011 at 13:02
Three word summary of this band: Extreme meets Poison. While you may not think that's necessarily a terrible combination, it's certainly not the best either, straddling the fence of acceptable mediocrity. Where the band manages to stay above water is in the catchiness department, incorporating enough pop-metal hooks to make the songs stick; without those saving hooks, this band wouldn't amount to a hill of beans. This CD is worth having in your collection, but honestly, it skirts the razor edge of being trash bin bound, saved only by a handful of upbeat songs ("Party in my Pocket") and solid ballads ("If I Say").

From: rockhardrock Date: January 31, 2011 at 18:50
a mediocre glam band that mixed glam metal with funk rock and groove.some good songs here but too much filler. my faves: I do u, if I say and party in my pocket.

From: hair metal again Date: September 20, 2012 at 1:53
fine debut by KING OF THE HILL! Howard Benson produces in a great way,the musicianship is very good ,the songs ok and the band seems to enjoy it!i remember the 2 singles &videos get some airplay but overall this one didnt make it cause there wasnt any big hit in it!"i do u","if i say","place in my heart" and "roses" are the highlights of this good release back in 91!

From: JONBONPIGO Date: September 22, 2014 at 18:27
Overall pleasing listen from start to finish...and any album that can get my feet Tappin' and head Snappin' the majority of the time is Grade A in my books...Standout tracks are: Party In My Pocket I Do U If I Say (Ballad) Place In My Heart (Ballad)
