The 2025 Heavy Harmonies Donation Drive!

The annual donation drive covers the site expenses, which are up this year, no thanks to an unexpected forum move, which incurred a fair amount out-of-pocket expense. The drive will run through the end of the year, details over on the Heavy Harmonies Forum.

Every donation helps, no matter how small. If you can't afford $20 for the year, give $10. If you can't afford $10, give $5. It's just once a year and keeps the lights on.

Thank you for supporting Heavy Harmonies!

If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.

The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular 38 Special CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from 38 Special are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Don Barnes is keeping the band touring, with the blessing of Donnie (close friends), and despite Don's now 72, he still sounds good and has a nice band. They play also songs from the albums Don was not part of, like Sound of your voice and Second chance, which is cool. Don seems happy of his career, family, life in general and a good dude! It's hard without his partner Donnie (health issues) of course, but very good nevertheless. As good as old albums? No, of course not, but never bad. Don seems not able to release bad albums. Even his solo album from '89 is a winner. But back then he was at his prime, 37 years of age, some difference. "Ride The Storm" is superb. Somebody here also turned me to listening to the Van Zant bros, Donnie och Johnny, and very nice they are productive too!

Not a bad album, worth checking out.

U bet, Doug. I did not have so high expectations since I did not like the rather raw Drivetrain so much. But this is a little better and cool Don Barnes is still touring!
