If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.
The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular 38 Special CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from 38 Special are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Good album. "The Sound Of Your Voice" is the perfect summer song.

Good later cd from a great band. Not to be overly critical, but where are the classic albums "Wild Eyed Southern Boys" and "Special Forces" on this site?

A return to their Southern rock roots(not that their more commercial later 80s albums weren't good as well). Lots of good tracks on this but my personal favorites are "Rebel to Rebel" & "Don't Wanna Get it Dirty". 38 Special really haven't done anything that I haven't liked.

I owned this disc, but it cost me a lot of money when I smashed my CD player after my sleeping head toppled onto it as this sent me far into the land of dreams. IMO very boring, dull AOR (no offence meant to anyone, just my opinion) and the worst thing about this f*cking disc is that I kept thinking I'd found an original copy of Silent Rage's 'Dont touch me there' everytime I glimpsed the cover somewhere!!!

I really like this one and prefer it over the previous 'Rock 'n Roll Strategy', solely because the standard of the songs is better in general - 'Rebel To Rebel' & 'The Sound Of Your Voice' being particular highlights. I still really miss Don Barnes's input though, and on the face of the 2 albums without him, think the band may have done aswell.

Mostly a mixed bag of slight rockers & ballads. Still, "Rebel To Rebel" is Donnie's ode to his brother, Ronnie. Some other highlights include a great AOR song in "Signs Of Love" & the uptempo "You Definitely Got Me". Worth an occasional spin for these best tracks.

Signs Of Love is brilliant and so are the other first five songs. After that it gets a bit tedious. I prefer the first Max Carl album.

This band back in the 80's and up to mid 90's knew exactly how to mix southern rock with AOR pretty well...in fact of all the southern acts that have flirted with AOR,38 Special took the flag ...this album is not the exception and gives us shots such as "The Sound Of Your Voice" a hit song by all means,"Signs Of Love" follows the line,a highlight,"Rebel To Rebel" & "You Be The Dam,I'll Be The Water" are top notch tracks,"Tear It Up" rocks pretty good,"Burning Bridges" is also an enjoyable track and to finish the story comes "Treasure" that is a wonderful nice ballad...a fine release that should be in your record collection...92/100

i m a very big fan of 38 special.it s impossible to me to say what is the best 38 special s record."bone against still" is sure the more complete and the more mature 38 special s realise.i love this jewel.unfortunatelly no bonus track on the japan import.

i can add after my two previous comments to be very complete that this record is far better than "rock n roll strategy".cause this album is varied.track 9 is a real great hard rock song ,track 13 a beautiful and very emotional ballad (far far better than "second chance),track 5 is a hit with a very catchy riff of acoustic guitar, tracks 10.3.8.and 12 smell good the south.these songs are some remarkable southern rock songs in the vein of masters like doc holliday or lynyrd skynyrd.the other songs are some a o r songs in the vein of rock n roll strategy."bone against steel" is the more long, the more mature and the more smart record of 38special.but maybe not the more catchy.
