very good hard rock band. They have a sound that will remind you of early Guardian and Van Halen. Too bad they came in at the tail end of the glory days of hard rock. Could have been huge if they came out three years early

Like the Christian rock answer to Giant with a few Europe overtones, these guys specialize in big hooks and great harmonies. The sheer number of memorable choruses will blow you away. 'Running All My Life' could be a Europe tune while 'Never Live Without Your Love' massages the same muscles that Foreigner does. This is one of the best Christian AOR CDs ever... right up there with Halo's debut, Petra's 'Beyond Belief' and the Stryper canon. ESSENTIAL!!!

We have known these guys since the early 80's. Stayce, Malcolm and Randy were at our wedding in 1984 Canadian, Texas. They are a great bunch of guys. Best of luck to them all. We love you guys!!! Mike, Jackie & Jacob

Koogles is spot on again in his description. Absolutely immense cd. 'All Together Now' has to be one of the best Melodic rock songs ever written IMHO, a monster of a song. The rest isn't far behind either. Great production from the Elefante brothers rounds off this must have cd.

Slick, big-hair, commercial pop metal. Loads of catchy big choruses. This disc was recorded in L.A. during the L.A. Riots of 1992. Apparently the riots were a bit too close to home and producer John Elefante became a bit freaked out. The two bonus tracks are mellow mixes that John did during that time as some sort of therepy. The original release of this came with a Brave bandana that I still have. http://www.nolifetilmetal.com

Alright, I just got this album in after reading all the hype and let me level with you, man let me tell you this is an absolute winner in every department!!! Very strong vocalist that reminder me very much of Steve Augeri of Tall Stories, top notch production in the vein of Giant - Last Of The Runaways, and very tidy guitar work from Stayce Roberts. I have been waiting to hear a release like this for quite some time!!!

I have to say that this is one great record. Of course, I am a little bias because I was the bass player for The Brave. We had a great time making this one. Thanks all for your comments. Drop me a line if you wanna know more about the band. jparis@antelecom.net

Bought this on cassette when it first came out and when I wore it out, I bought it on CD. It was in my car cassette deck for months. I still throw it in for a spin every so often and love it. I absolutely love The Waiting and Tears of a broken heart. Thanks Malcolm and boys!!

MAN IS THIS A GREAT CD!!! I normally don't get into Christian Rock, this is an exception. Way better that any of the Stryper,Guardian releases. I was blown away. The melodies and music are top notch. The vocalist is EXCELLENT!! The reason I don't like most Christian music is the over the top references to God & Jesus. It's ok to a point. The lyrics end up being amateurish or their trying to hard. Not this CD. It's just straight ahead positive lyrics. Your not embarrased to play this LOUD.A MUST

I have heard alot of Christian metal bands, and The Brave Battle Cries is one of my alltime favorites. The vocals are some of the best you will hear, secular or Christian. The musical talent is still head and shoulders above what is out there now. Would like to see this band back together!

I'm generally not a big fan of Christian hard rock, but f*ck me is this a good CD! Musically superb, massive hooks - just a great melodic hard rock album, easy as that.

Hands down the best Christian hard rock album ever released. The songs explode from the speakers with all the power of a white knight in a jousting contest. Massive hooks, massive vocals, massive choruses...when it comes to melodic hard rock, bigger is definitely better, baby, and it doesn't come any bigger than these boys. Fans of anthemic hair-metal with monster choruses and huge harmonies along the lines of Blue Tears will find themselves crying for joy when they hear this masterpiece.

I used to be in the band Atonement and toured quite a bit with these guys in the early nineties. They were a great band live, even better than their CD in my opinion. They were 1st class musicians and a hard act ot follow or open for,and good friends as well! This is an album I still listen to today. If anyone remembers Atonement, a South Carolina based band, although I'm from Colorado, email me at edison_shaw@yahoo.com. Would love to talk to anyone who remembers the band!

I have had this disc for awhile now and I must say that it is fantastic. In my opinion this is one of the finest Christian rock albums ever made. If you love melodic rock you need to have this release.

On the insert of this Cd John Elefante has a liner note that "The Brave are humble servants of the Lord". The band wears their hearts on their sleeves, as a majority of the lyrics are not subtle like some Christian rock bands. Tracks 'The Waiting' 'Running all my life' take deep personal meaning with myself as a believer. The Elefante brothers do what they do best with massive hooks, gang vocals and top notch production. Minor negative note in production is that the keyboards are overpowering on some tracks and some songs tend to bleed together behind that monster wall of sound. The band didn't even have a keyboard player so the sound was heavier LIVE. Top 5 rating also from me along side: Guardian - Fire and Love,Holy Soldier -S/T,The Last Train, Stryper - To Hell with the Devil.

amazing hair metal release by THE BRAVE which follos the spirit of that golden era of hard rock music!the production is perfect, the musicianship astonishing, the vocs fine and the songwriting of the highest level!sometimes this band sounds so smooth and velvet and Battle Cries becomes so under rated!highlights are "the waiting","running all my life","just a man" and "little love".brilliant release and a must have for sure!

One of my all-time favorite melodic rock records. Every song is a winner, and this record should have sold millions. Like most Christian bands of the time, these guys just couldn't sustain themselves financially. Best songs are Ride With The Rhythm, Tears Of A Broken Heart, If That Ain't Love and All Together Now.

Japangea - are you chasing the dragon again? What does Robin McAuley and your new custom genre (Mellow-hard-rock) have to do with this release?

Super Christian hard rock. The lyrics fit the songs nicely and the singer sounds a lot like Paul Quinn from No Sweat. I don't have a particular favourite but the album smoothly flows from song to song with no filler in sight.

Robin McAuley on vocals? Really? Hmmm...

I think Japangea was saying that this disc is similar to the band Giant but with a Robin McAuley sounding vocalist.
