essential for aor fans. top quality, very classy. 10/10.

WOW, this release is awesome. If you like 'Diving For Pearls' or 'Strangeways' you'll love this one...

From: Jezzer Date: April 24, 2002 at 16:03
Up there with the best of them . Absolutely brilliant.

From: koogles Date: August 29, 2002 at 9:22
One of the best West Coast AOR CDs to ever come out of Canada, if you like these guys- check out Renegade's 'Back From the Dead' (2001). The singer in Renegade is a deadringer for David Forbes. I still like the first BLVD CD a bit better but I think 'Rainy Day In London' (from this one) is one of their finest songs ever. Chills baby chills.

From: NE1 Date: September 6, 2002 at 12:21
Well, well, well, I haven't listend to this for about 10 years, but was scrolling through the new comments and saw Koogles post. So I dug out my old cassette copy and pressed play. What can I say - This album is an absolute MONSTER, Eye of the Hurricane is just starting and the first 4 tracks are fantastic. I can't wait to get to Rainy Night in London (as I have fond memories of that track). If things continue I will have to find a CD copy. :-)

This is one of the best aor releases in the history of aor.Everybody should own this.Absolutly essential.

From: Nielsen Date: November 11, 2002 at 5:30
The first one is much better, this one is boring. sorry.

From: Gabi Date: February 22, 2003 at 10:08
Escuchar 'Rainy Day in London', es una pasada!!!

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: April 6, 2003 at 16:40
Don't let the ratings on this album fool you. Nobody even knows or cares about this band, but yet someone rated them over 660 times. It must be one of the band members or their retarded mother? Who ever the freak is, this person has no taste for music.

From: Alexandre Date: April 11, 2003 at 12:00
Mmmm... But that's always better taste than yours, Jason.

From: Rich H. Date: May 7, 2003 at 23:30
Simply a great AOR band , one of the best in this genre ever. Two amazing releases to their credit that you will not tire of.Excellent

From: Mike L Date: May 10, 2003 at 1:34
Don't let Jason's post deter anyone from getting this CD. As was said, this is an AOR must!! Just Great!

Another classic. What a great effort by Boulevard. A worthy successor to the debut album. A must have for any AOR lover. The only downside i can think of is that they released just two albums. Superb stuff !

From: jsmnavarro Date: July 28, 2003 at 9:31
What a shame, this band should be super huge!!

From: jsmnavarro Date: August 3, 2003 at 10:10

From: Rycheage Date: April 29, 2004 at 22:57
Very thoughtful and well put together melodic rock arrangements, and for the most part, they are all strong that I'm scratching my head trying to find a weak one. The string of songs of 'Talk To Me', 'Where Is The Love', 'Lead Me On', 'Eye Of The Hurricane', 'Light Of Day' and 'Crazy Life' are about as good a run of songs on a CD as you'll ever likely to hear. 'Rainy Day In London' is the token ballad and provides a lucid backdrop, while a Zappacosta vibe makes itself known on 'Where Are You Now'.

From: AOR freaky Date: May 6, 2004 at 10:38
This is f..n' BRILLIANT mature AOR ! They don't make it like these anymore ! CHECK it out pronto ! FANTASTIC !

From: bateman Date: May 10, 2004 at 9:30
Melodic Rock in perfection! If you like Strangeways or Giant you'll love these guys. This is the more guitar oriented second release, which contains their most beautiful ballad 'Rainy day in London'. You can clearly hear the improvements of David's voice compared to the first release (anyway you GOT to own both). A shame this band dissolved shortly after the release of 'Crazy life'.

From: TIM (2) Date: May 26, 2004 at 8:28
'Eye of the Hurricane' is one of those instant classic songs you always find yourself singing. The debut is better, but this is still awesome. Agree with the Renegade comparison, definitely check them out too.

From: Curtis Bouvier Date: September 27, 2004 at 3:15

Buen disco, con buenas melodias y un cantante alucinante, aunque se me hace algo aburrido (creo que a algunas canciones les falta "algo").Mi favorita es Rainy day in London.

I wonder if someone could place this cd's in bittorrent, The songs are perfect. but not for sale in holland. so if you would be so kind. thanks

I don't understand how such a wonderful band like this couldn't break through when they first came out. I bought this album on LP so i have a really collector's item. It even came with a photo of the band and some extra information about the band itself. The information says that there are similar to glass tiger and roxy music. They even opened a concert for TINA TURNER,can you believe that guys.

From: Date: December 22, 2004 at 18:36
If you like AOR / Melodic rock just buy it !! if you like Strangeways or Diving for Pearls this is even better , sometimes remindes me the first Danger Danger album but they have theyr own style.I was surprised when i listened to the first Unruly child album because it´s great but Boulevard 2nd album was even a bigger surprise.

From: MikeL Date: January 6, 2005 at 20:24
I love this CD. Lead Me On has to be one of the finest cuts in AOR. Every song is strong and no fillers. Find it and buy it.

Double storming album...

From: Geoff Date: March 14, 2005 at 21:46
Again they impressed me with this CD. This is good classy AOR and how this type of music should be done. Again, this album is not perfect to me, but it's very good AOR.

From: Swriter Date: March 18, 2005 at 19:43
hmm, very classy stuff, does not knock me out, just great aor/rock. To me, this band is close to FM but not quite there. Good songs, production, vocals, keys, just a good one!!! Check it out

From: AOR freaky Date: March 19, 2005 at 1:49
Hi swriter, we have our first little disagreement here ! HA ! HA ! This is BRILLIANT, mature AOR and blows FM totally away ! A song like 'Where Is The Love' is AOR perfection ! Anyway, you should check out their first album, if you still didn't, swriter ! I know you like keys very much, well the debut is keyboard heaven, mate ! Much more than on this one ! Check it out pronto !

Not really a good comparison comparing this one to FM. And saying this is better or worse is a pointless argument yet again. Both bands are/were fantastic. 'Blvd' or 'Indiscreet, 'Into The Street or 'Tough It Out', just get all 4 of them and enjoy two of the best bands of the AOR genre.

From: Erik Date: March 19, 2005 at 3:24
Comparing FM with Boulevard ? Bad choice. Thats like comparinf red with white wine. Both wines but...... So like Jez said just enjoy em both.

From: Swriter Date: March 19, 2005 at 11:34
hahahahahaha, oops, I made a booboo!!!! hahahahaha I love this album, This is a solid album and is stronger for me each time I listen this week. I was trying to say that they are in the top class act realms of FM!!!! THIS IS A GREAT ONE!!!! I sorry, I musta been sleepy!!!!! hahahaha

From: Erik Date: March 21, 2005 at 3:47
To me just one of the all time best AOR releases ever. CLASS written all over it. 9,5/10

From: Lennie Date: March 24, 2005 at 17:14
This is freaking brilliant AOR. Only problem is I havent got it! Now wheres my bro when you need him???! Buy, burn or steal at all costs, you wont regret it. One of the ALL TIME classics.

From: Swriter Date: April 12, 2005 at 17:19
ok Jez, Erik, and Freaky, now u done it, this can not be taken from my cd, I found both on ebay and this is a monster, I like the first one and think it is fantastic, this one is fantasticastic!!!! definately worth the # spent!!!!! can''t remember the first time the first 5 tracks sped by so fast and what a great first five tracks!!! A MASTERPIECE!!!!! Why don't these get re-released so tons more poeple can find out about this great band!!!

From: AOR freaky Date: April 13, 2005 at 1:31
Glad you like it that much, Swriter ! It's indeed a masterpiece ! Adult AOR, so to speak ! The first is more keyboard driven, this is as said before, more mature ! But I thought you didn't like it that much, first, Swriter ! What has changed your opinion, please !?

From: Swriter Date: April 13, 2005 at 16:33
Freaky, not sure why??? hehehehehe I got a copy of the 2nd cd, listened and did not do much, although very good I thought, then I saw the first one on ebay, picked that up and loved it, then saw a copy of the 2nd on Ebay, got it, listened to both albums for the past several weeks, the first one is great, but this second just blows me away!!!! not sure why it did not blow me away the first time, but it does now, FANTASTICASTIC!!!!

From: AOR freaky Date: April 14, 2005 at 1:44
Better late than never, Swriter ! HA, Ha ! ! !

From: Erik Date: August 1, 2005 at 10:28
All time classic. Nuff said.

From: ArnoldLancelot Date: September 5, 2005 at 10:32
As a self respect A.O.R. lover consider Boulevard releases(both)as it would be a tool for a mechanic, a car for a race pilot, a camara for a photographer an so on... For me, togheter with the big ones: early FM and Stan bush, Jeff Paris, early Dare, Strangeways, etc. Although as said on the other page, I prefer their first one because of a less moody vein wich this one has. Anyway, ESSENTIAL.

Time goes by, but the consensus remains the same...Absolute great AOR cd. This is a must to anyone who likes AOR, melodic rock.

Obra maestra del West Coast / AOR. "Eye of the hurricane", "Crazy life", "Where is the love" o "Lead me on" son temazos de altura. AOR CLASSIC.

From: HaremScarem Date: March 24, 2006 at 12:07
AOR MASTERPIECE. Por cierto, me olvidé de Rainy day in Londo, temazo. Rectifico mi nota anterior. AOR CLASSIC ------> 9,5/10

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: March 25, 2006 at 5:23

From: kipvanpearcy Date: April 9, 2006 at 11:09
A masterpiece, enough said.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: June 28, 2006 at 12:49

From: lalorock Date: July 23, 2006 at 18:47
Que excelentes canciones se sacaron estos Boulevard tocadas de una manera magistral tales como ese comienzo talk to me, esa balada lleno de feeling matador where is the love, eye of the hurricane con ese toque de los ochenta, y la genial crazy life mi favorita, todo el disco de una calidad inigualable.

From: Carlos A. Date: September 25, 2006 at 11:49

From: MEVERICK ROCK Date: February 3, 2007 at 19:35

From: MEVERICK ROCK Date: February 3, 2007 at 19:39
SALUDOS DESDE LIMA-PERU ATTE... MEVERICKAOR

IMO this is the best boulevard cd, but the best song is on the first record (far from over). By the way Boulevard is way better than Diving for pearls, Alias, The storm, etc etc.! 10/10

From: darobinson Date: May 28, 2007 at 16:56
Andy,Andy,Andy. You were one of my favorite Pirates but these guys sound nothing like Diving For Pearls or Strangeways. Strangeways is fantastic, Diving For Pearls is not. This is a AOR masterpiece. A must have if you can find it!!!

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 18, 2007 at 21:59
AWEEESOME RECORD!!!

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 18, 2007 at 22:07
"Where Is The Love" tiene una melodía y coros hermosos; "Lead Me On" es impresionante por su melodía y gran coro; Ni que decir de la magnifica "Crazy Life"( que talento para crear melodías, impresionante); "Another Rainy Day In London" es una bellisima balada, con maravillosa estructura compositiva, con solo de sax incluido y también destaca "Eye Of The Hurricane" (Otra ganadora!) en un disco donde ningún solo tema está de más. Tu amigo YIRO SEVENTH (antes PODEROSO YIRO) te lo recomienda!!!

From: FiglT Date: July 24, 2007 at 15:14
I am far from an AOR purist, but to my ears, this is one of the very best CDs in any genre I have had the pleasure to listen. I am puzzled at the low rating here. Truly not a bad song on it.

This is for NINJA PETER: Man, I Hope someday you can explain your reasons to rate this album like you have done. I have seen really awful albums here and i haven´t rated these albums with that very low rate... I want to believe that it´s some kind of a bad joke from your part, and if it is true, I really have to tell you that you must STOP this thing... I Hope you read this and if you have something to say about this, please express your reasons

From: ninjapeter Date: March 22, 2008 at 2:17
Lennie, I rated this 1/100 because it is total fluff to me, sorry.

From: ninjapeter Date: March 28, 2008 at 20:54
Hello Yiro: I will try to explain as best I can. I like a good aor album as much as anyone else but to me this should not even be called aor because to me this is just pop rock to me. I hate songs that are dominated by keyboards (and I don't mean piano) because it sounds very fluffy and artificial to me, no depth to it. It also has no audible vibrations that caress the soul. I might as well listen to something like Madonna or Michael Jackson if I were to listen to this and I won't do that. I guess I broke some unwritten law by critisizing this band since I don't follow the leader. Sorry to anyone I offend but I think this band is pure garbage so no it was not a joke to rate it so low. I hope you understand.

From: newscandi Date: March 31, 2008 at 20:05
Please, ninjapeter, tell me what's your difference in your so-called piano and keyboard? I mean, because AOR IS keyboard orientated for me. Just tell me examples of AOR you like. It's almost never with piano, or do you mean piano alike sounds by sinthi?

From: ninjapeter Date: April 3, 2008 at 2:39
Hello newscandi, I am always amazed that people ask the difference between keyboards and piano. Piano is acoustic and keyboards are electronic and sound very artificial because there are no actual strings. I don't even mind keyboards if they are used only as a background for atmosphere but if they are the main instrument it makes the music very shallow to me. I like a lot of aor like Dare, Alliance, etc. I wouldn't even call this band aor, it's more pop rock. I hope I explained what I meant well enough.

From: darobinson Date: April 6, 2008 at 12:14
Fantastic AOR album!!!! To bad this is where it all ended thanks to grunge.......

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: July 22, 2008 at 14:24
Hello Ninjapeter: Well. You can say that you don´t like an album and that is something that i respect, even if disagree with you. There´s no problem about it. My complain is about the RATING. Man, For instance, I don´t like Madonna´s albums or Avril Lavigne´s, but i don´t say that they are garbage, because they aren´t, i mean, the fact that i don´t like their music doesn´t mean that they are crap, and that is something that has a lot to do with the Rating. I think You should be more objetive and careful with the way that you rate an album, because 1 of 100? man, i´m sorry but that is not a reasonable rate, and don´t feel bad if the people here in this site don´t take your ratings seriously. In the other hand, i must applaud your education in your answer.

PODEROSO YIRO!,you are right!!! come such a wonderful album like this gets so little rating???...THIS ALBUM MIGHT NOT BE A JEWEL BUT IS FAR BETTER THAN OTHER "SO CALLED" AOR RELEASES!!!.

It's indeed an Westcoast/AOR masterpiece. Dig into this album...Pure melodies and nice vocal harmonies, Well produced...Let Boulevard take you on an AOR heaven. Ah, and this one produced by John Punter... (Also He had produced Strangeways' 2nd album "Native Sons")

Found this one ny accident in a used music store about a year ago. Glad I did. While I in enjoyed their first release, I play this a little more often. A little harder edged with some great melodies and vocals.

It took a while to find this one but it was worth the wait. Solid rock/AOR with great musicianship and vocals. While I do like their 1st self titled release, I have to give this one the edge, but not by much!

David Forbes is coming back!

This is right up there with some of the best AOR I've heard. The vocalist is out of this world - his voice is pitch-perfect and as smooth as ice. My favourites are the atmospheric Lead Me On, the uplifting Eye of the Hurricane, the awesomely catchy Crazy Life and Need You Tonight. My only complaint is that the guitars could've been a bit more technical. Top class.

Boulevard, initially called BLVD was formed in Calgary, Canada in 1983 by singer and saxophone player Mark Holden. They released an excellent debut album in 1988 and gained exposure by touring Canada as support act to Glass Tiger and Boston on the final leg of the "Third Stage" tour. Follow up album "Into The Street" from 1990 is regarded by many as Boulevard's best work and praised in numerous reviews around the world, cited as a genre classic and one of the best releases of the 90's. With a clear and (for it's time) nice production by John Punter, melodic, catchy songs and David Forbes's outstanding vocals, it's an essential Canadian classic finally available on Spotify.

excellent 2nd release for BOULEVARD offering a perfect classy melodic sound with amazing musicianship&songwriting!their sound is somewhere between STRANGEWAYS and ALIAS and the quality is obvious in every tune!its really strange the "where is the love " didn make some impact back in the day and that there was no follow up in the 90s!essential

Excellent AOR just like the stunning debut. Skilled musicians all of them and smooth, catchy soft rock/AOR tunes. Simply an amazing melodic rock album and all songs are good. Perfect rating to me. John Punter had the enormously hard task to create another killer sound, similar to Fraser/Rock, not easy, but he did it so very well. Amazing sound down to details, mmm CD sounds great in my sound system. Turn it up!
