From: T-BONE Date: August 11, 2001 at 9:38
Great band, and worth checking out! Got the cd off Napster, but still looking for an original!

From: Desslar Date: April 11, 2002 at 21:16
Just another pretnder trying to break into the then overcrowded world of pop metal. Better than you'd expect for an indie band, but nothing exceptional.

From: Reno Date: May 3, 2002 at 1:14
Pretty good cd to check out if you like more of the unheard of 80's bands.

From: TIM Date: August 1, 2002 at 8:28
Yeah, these guys are a good changeup.

From: nitrodoll Date: August 7, 2002 at 11:14
yep, a very under rated album..killer songs on this one... wasted love reminds me of another song though..anyone? nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

Does anyone know anything about the new perris releases like: Roxx and Hard Knox?

From: METAL 4 EVER Date: September 8, 2002 at 20:59
This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Do yourself a favor, and get this cd. You won't regret it. Metal 4 Life

From: wanna-be Date: December 26, 2002 at 19:05
Wow!! I casn't believe this CD didn't get flushed like the personnel of this band! Talk about lame west-coast-wannabe's!! These guys sound just like they look! Totally lame as a llama!!

From: METAL 4 EVER Date: February 5, 2003 at 2:33
This is far from lame, actually I'd say it's quite opposite. This is one of the most exultant CDs that I've ever listened to. This album is most definitely in my top 10 of all time If you like Skid Row, Heavens Edge, Dirty Rhythm you'll love this CD. Most highly recommended. Metal 4 Life

From: koogles Date: April 4, 2003 at 0:20
First off, this CD SOUNDS incredible. From a production standpoint, it's right up there with any of the major releases from back in the day. Backing vocals as big as the hair on their heads. Musically, 4 guys = 8 feet = 1 ass seriously kicked. That's right, these guys are BETTER than Heaven's Edge. Also similar to Babylon AD, XYZ, Skid Row (good call, METAL 4 EVER), Firehouse, etc. Relentlessly good, i.e. rocks from start to finish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED hair metal with very high octane content!!!

From: tom Date: May 22, 2003 at 13:16
excellent disc, whatever happened to theze guys..? weren't they on the same label (rock hard) as BARRACUDA? batcave777@hotmail.com

From: Mike Date: July 15, 2003 at 12:46
I agree-GREAT Sounding CD! Get this one if you are a fan of the late 80's, early 90's sound. These guys should have made it big, just not the right connections probably. A must have! NO filler here!

From: tomcat Date: October 6, 2003 at 12:12

Awesome disc- the more i listen to it the more i realize how killer the guitarist is. I'm really suprised these guys didn't get any bigger. Now the trick is finding this on cd at a reasonable price. Glenn- did you guys record anything else? Good luck on the reunion.

It's all been said already, but yes these guys were one of the best of the genre. Man, I'd love to see a return collection of songs. Killer stuff from start to finish and as many have said, no sign of a filler at all. Brilliant hard rock CD!

From: Jon Date: June 17, 2004 at 12:19
I have seen Spitshine a bunch of times. Thay had a great lineup when the original drummer from Roxxi was driving. Now after about ten guys later- don't waste your time. So sad, so sad.

From: Glenn Date: September 26, 2004 at 20:07
Well the ROXXI reunion looks like it wont be happening in this life time.....SAD TO SAY. Some of the guys 'don't want to take a step back' and seem to think the band sucked and feel a little ashamed.... WHAT EVER!!! As for SPITSHINE, Well thats over too. Long over due. So if ya know of a band out there local in the MA area, this Bass player is looking for a cool gig ( or lead vocals as well, i do that too) To all, thanks for the support over the years!!!! Peace, Glenn

First off, let me say I love this kinda stuff. Hooky commercial rock with a metallic edge. Great vocals, great hooks, but... the guitarist is a real talented technical player don't get me wrong, but a lot of the solos, although fast and clean sound like they're being played to a different song. That being said, I still like it, for an indie it's phenomenal.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 21, 2006 at 13:10

From: darobinson Date: April 9, 2008 at 19:14
Not a masterpiece by any means but not to bad either. The guitar player is amazing. The boy can shred!!! Get is just to hear him.

From: rbrigade Date: April 16, 2009 at 11:41
Wow, one of the best indies I've ever heard! Uplifting sing along hard rock with great guitars, nice vocals and some great tracks. Production is flawless.

From: ARAMIS Date: October 12, 2009 at 21:35
It's a shame to hear that this kind of bands do not believe in themselves anymore. That decade was beautiful and if all those guys felt a little bit better about their music we would have something better to expect! This is a great album.

From: jan_vexel Date: May 5, 2010 at 22:37
Overall a great disc, but that title track is a real BLAST !!! Just give it a spin..., you'll find out

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 7, 2010 at 21:05
Very interesting album by this indie hard rock act...the album starts with an excellent track, the one that gives the album a title 'Drive It To Ya Hard' then 'Wild Child' is an awesome number, became an instant fave along with 'Give It To Me','Wasted Love' is a highlight,'Searchin' For The Light' is another fave and 'Fire In My Heart' which is the AOR-ish number is basically the 'song' of the album (at least 4 me)..good vocals and pretty good musicianship!...buy!.90/100.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: May 5, 2011 at 9:36
To mock Randy Jackson of American Idols fame, "Yo, Roxxi rawks, dawg!" The production quality is immaculate for an indie band and the songs themselves are slick commercial hard rockers remarkably reminiscent of Poley-era Danger Danger. So many collector-coveted indies aren't worth even close to the price they fetch, but this one is worth whatever it takes to acquire a copy. Take the spirit of the '80s, merge it with some polished guitars, incorporate a hellaciously huge helping of hot hooks, combine it all with catchy choruses, and then heap on the harmony vox and you've got yourself a winner. This is one of those CDs that any fan of that late '80s melodic hard rock sound will listen to, nod approvingly, and exclaim, "Oh, yeah, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout right there!" Hard to find, but well worth the hunt.

From: CC Date: May 24, 2019 at 13:32
I recently stumbled on the video to the title track of this album by complete accident on YouTube recently, came here to check the comments on the album then went looking for the CD. Sadly it commands a reasonably high price of between £60 - £150 which is way more than I would ever pay for a CD. By some kind of miracle though I found one person selling a copy for £20 so jumped on that one without a second thought. Got the album this morning and have spun it a few times already today. What I can say is that a lot of the comments here are spot on, this is a great hard rock album and a mostly overlooked gem of the era. That said, nothing they do is original and I certainly would not say there are many "huge hits" on this, so it is kinda understandable it slipped under the radar. Sometimes though it is not about the big hit style songs, and where this wins is in its consistancy. Every song on here is great, and the musicianship is stellar. Worth a punt if you can get it cheap enough.

it s always interesting to discover unknow bands for me, after comments on this site.all comments are excellent so i ve listen all this record on you tube.i can say that the guitar player is amazing.classic but great riffs and solos.but...the singer is average not more and the songs don t hooked me cause the choruses are not catchy.except track 8 "searching for the light" the best song of the record with a really good and catchy choruse.the rest is a bunch of good hard songs but all these songs have nothing special, nothing extraordinary.it s not a surprise if this band don t find a deal with a big company.in u s a there one thousand bands at the same level.
