This disc is really cool stuff!!! Why is there only one album of bb-steal????? it´s a pitty!!!! go on like this.

From: Dennis Date: May 15, 2001 at 15:32
It's so unfortunate that they only did one album, But I love it. Cool tracks, makes me feel like driving from coast to coast while listening to it.

I have never heard of B B Steal before until I read somewhere that Def Leppard's Phil Collen had produced an album for this band, so I checked it out- not bad, not bad. But how I wished that they promoted it fairly and I wished that they did a follow up, because the album deserved it in my opinion. Phil Collen did a good job as an album producer, just the kind of music I wanna hear. The band seemed very promising to me, and seemed it could offer much more given the chance. But never the less thi

heard a few songs...sounds alittle like hysteria def leppard...where can i get this cd?

From: James Date: December 29, 2001 at 16:31
You can tell Phil had a big influence on the album. Sounds somewhat likd Def Leppard, just enough to make it a very cool cd to have!!!!

From: koogles Date: January 1, 2002 at 10:41
May nourish fans through those long, hungry years between Def Leppard albums, but only a few tracks ("Big Love" and "Live It Up") on this uneven CD truly deliver the goods, DL-style. Not bad but, like the skin of the leopard itself, spotty.

From: HG Date: February 16, 2002 at 20:03
Phil Collen of Def Leppard fame produced this one, and you can tell. It is a dead-on copy of the Hysteria-era Leppard sound, and that's definitely not a bad thing.

From: José Carlos Date: February 26, 2002 at 10:57

TROUBLED CHILD!!!! GREAT TRACK , I´M DRUNK BUT I KNOW WHAT I´M SAYING. DORO PESCH RULES

From: WidoMakr Date: March 11, 2002 at 22:03
This is a better representation of Def L. than they have done themselves for 3 albums...scary..sad...u listening DL? this thing reeks of 80's vintage DL (thats a good thing) worth a listen...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

Australia's answer to DEF LEPPARD. Not bad at all.

Again, this is really good. I have a cassette though. However, I always have wanted to have a C.D. of it, and I have been looking and researching where and how to find BB Steals's On The Edge . DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE TO FIND ONE? Please reply here. I'll appreciate any help. Thanks and "Ride On."

From: jarett r. Date: November 15, 2002 at 5:42
i've heard that phil collen actually played some guitar on the b.b. steal album, but wasn't an official member of the band.

From: M. Allen Date: December 21, 2002 at 18:24
If that vintage Def Leppard sound is what this band was aiming for, then they hit their target dead on. No, this is not up to the incredibly high standard of "Hysteria," but BB STEAL does a decent job of borrowing from the Lep's bag of tricks to create the same polished melodic hard rock style. Then again, with Phil Collen producing, what else would you expect? Some of the songs could have been stronger, however, which keeps this band on the edge of greatness without actually crossing over...

From: Rosales Date: January 17, 2003 at 20:03

From: Rene Date: January 18, 2003 at 19:23
I dont understand how some people can think this band sound lik MEGADETH or NIGHTWISH. Its more melodic metal with a tipical 80s sound. A mix between DOKKEN, DEF LEPPARD, and the white metal bands TEMPEST and DANIEL BAND.

From: Grunder Date: February 20, 2003 at 14:29
I was fortunate enough to be put onto this when it was released and I never tire of it, playing it at least once a week.

From: vikingo666 Date: March 27, 2003 at 15:06

From: run2u Date: February 8, 2004 at 21:08

HHHMMMM. Poor version of Def Leppard.

From: Geoff Date: May 28, 2004 at 3:36
How odd, I could not agree less with Koogles on this one! Sorry mate, usually agree heartily with your words on music, but I'm quite opposite here. I actually think this album is bloody fantastic, 9 excellent songs an donly one filler... which just happens to be 'Live it up', which you state as one of the best two. Odd stuff, as I hate this song but love all the rest, especially Big love, Heartbeat away, Suffer in silence and Troubled Child. But I love them all! Except 'Live it up'. Great Def Le

From: Dennis Clark Date: November 30, 2004 at 16:14
Actually, this sounds even more Def Leppard than Def Leppard's recent recording.

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: February 27, 2005 at 11:30

From: Aussie Dave Date: March 8, 2005 at 23:01
Good Aussie band that like Demont, deserved better than just the one full length album. Like everyone else here has stated, Phil Collen from Def Leppard produces this, and boy does it show. This is the most Def Leppard sounding album i have heard(besides the masters themselves of course). Been around a long time now, but still worthy of a listen every now and then. Heartbeat Away is a cool ballad and is probably the best song on here. The rest of the album is just ok IMO. 6.5/10....

From: Wazbo Date: March 10, 2005 at 22:52
I can't believe 13 years after BB Steal split that people are still discussing this album! It's a shame we weren't that popular when the thing came out as we might have had the opportunity to make a follow up. Cheers Warren - ex member

From: CC Date: April 8, 2005 at 12:43
Oh believe me Warren, there are still fans out there that still know great music when they hear it! I'm sure that this album woulda been huge if it had been released four years earlier........Nirvana has a lot to answer for!

From: machine Date: April 20, 2005 at 5:11
Word has it that if there is any interest out there from record companies and fans that BB Steal will seriously consider doing a follow up album to On The Edge. After nearly 15 years it would be interesting to see what they could come up with. Craig the singer still has a band in Adelaide and Kevin the guitarist a band in Sydney while Warren the other guitarist has a recording studio also in Sydney so, you never know. I'll keep interested people posted. Remember where you heard it first

From: Erik Date: April 20, 2005 at 10:36
Do keep us posted Machine !

From: Malebolgia Date: May 25, 2005 at 15:41
All I can say is....WOW!! This album was a complete surprise to me, and I love it. A few songs here do have the Def Leppard feel to them. The main two are: 'Big Love', and 'Suffer In Silence'. The other songs that reminded me of other bands are: 'Live It Up' which sounds like it could be a Blue Tears song, and 'Shot Full Of Love' which reminded me of Shark Island. All in all a very good album with some solid rock songs, cool guitars, and huge choruses. Buy it if you can find it. My Review: 8/10

From: headbanger4life Date: January 4, 2006 at 2:54
This is a fantastic release IMO. Being a huge Def Leppard fan made this one even more enjoyable as Phil Collen produced this baby. His sounds are all over it to. Like one of the above remarks said, this was a nice one to satisfy early Lep fans during their long gaps between releases. I still enjoy this one and it gets regular play. Wish they would have made some more stuff.

From: oliver Date: January 4, 2006 at 10:23
there exists 3 more bb steal tracks which i own on cdr. don´t ask me where they from nor when they were recorded. but they´re fantastic and imo better than the on the edge tracks.

From: machine Date: January 30, 2006 at 1:41
The three BB Steal tracks not included on the "On The Edge" album from memory are "I Believe"(first single)the b-side "Love's On The Rocks" and "Hold On" (b-side of Heartbeat Away). There is also a pretty ordinary acoustic Heartbeat Away that was also a b-side. I hear there's a new album on the way, anyone heard anything? I've heard some snippets and they sounded very ordinary indeed .. shame!

From: VinceK81 Date: February 17, 2006 at 18:44
KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILER!!!!!!!!!! So Def, so Blue Tears, SO SWEET! Gotta pick up this CD, pricey or not, SO WORTH IT! Each song is catchy in it's own way. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 are my favs. Phil Collen's production is quite obvious on this one, IN A KILLER WAY! RIP IT UP!!!!!!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 4, 2006 at 7:56
GREAT Melodic Hard Rock album, Majestuoso album escuela Leppard no queda duda de eso Extraordinarios temas como Suffer in Silence, Big Love, Precious Love, Love Me and Leave Me, Heartbeat Away... un album Completo si tu amas a los Leppard queda de mas decir que este es un total Imprescindible en tu coleccion 9/10.

From: scorpster1169 Date: May 17, 2006 at 21:51
Ahh, the album Slang should have been!!! Great hooks and harmonies. Finally got this album today (ahh, ebay), and am impressed. Craigs vocals remind me of someone (any help on this one appreciated fellas). Long live Hard/ Heavy/ Glam/ Sleaze!!!! I'm so not in touch with todays rock. Forget Big Day Out and the like, hows this for a festival line up: Def Lep, Crue, Skid Row, Damn Yankees, Cinderella, G 'n R, Wildside, Slaughter, Poison......Hell, i could be here all nite.

From: scorpster1169 Date: May 17, 2006 at 21:55
Sorry for rambling, but these are all REAL musicians who wrote what they sang. Groups like these will never come along again. Such a cryin' shame, shame, shame.............Oh, Yeah, Ratt, Dokken, TNT, Van Halen, WASP..........Now THATS a festival, what a week.............

From: TJ Date: May 19, 2006 at 10:37
I just got my copy the other day and i must say i was quite pleased with what i heard. They remind me of a cross between Autograph -- Loud N Clear era and of course Def Leppard. I being a big fan of both these bands was quite pleased with this cd. I love big love , Heartbeat away , ride on & Suffer in silence! Buy or die!

From: FTCharlie Date: August 1, 2006 at 7:47
This is the album, Def Leppard should have made after Hysteria. GREAT STUFF!!! And an all time classic you can hear everyday!

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: October 7, 2007 at 13:41

From: kipvanpearcy Date: May 1, 2008 at 7:41
Great CD for Def Leppard fans.

From: True Believer Date: April 21, 2009 at 8:52
Obvious Def Leppard influences throughout the disc, but "Ride On" borrows melody from Bryan Adams' "Waking Up The Neighbours" LP, and the last two songs contain many elements of Autograph efforts. Overall, great CD, although not very original, 8,5/10

From: 123charpenay Date: May 1, 2009 at 18:26
big def leppard influence.fantastic album like a best of def leppard if you are fan buy it no others choice

From: DurrellWayne Date: April 19, 2010 at 7:19
Anyway, "Shot Full of Love" is the great song. The rest of album - very, very good, at least.
