The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular The Awful Truth CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from The Awful Truth are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

man this CD blows! I don't even know why it's on here. No melody, poor quality and bad music. boo boo boo!

From: Sigitas Date: December 5, 2001 at 4:16
Great album! One of the best from Houston rock scene together with King's X first four albums, Galactic Cowboys first 3 releases and Atomic Opera 'For Madmen Only'. A must for fans of these bands!

From: Tossademarre Date: June 21, 2002 at 9:53
Music, like art, is down to personal taste a lot of the time. This album, in my opinion if you are an X fan or a cowboys fan is a must!! Like all the best albums Its not a one listen album you need to slowly, over a period of time, drip feed the passion of the music into your brain. The intrinsic quality of the album should never be in question and Ohlerkings non involvement in the Cowboys albums is testament to their apparent blandness.

From: cyric Date: August 8, 2002 at 13:07
This album KILLS. the harmonies are perfect...the distorted bass sound holds down brutal heavy grooves while the melody is all over the place. If you like heavier kings x or galactic cowboys (of which some of these guys are members)...try to get you hand on this cd!!

From: Der Pink Panzer Date: August 19, 2002 at 17:21
I really liked this one. From the fertile 'Wilde Silas' music works comes The Awful Truth. Very ethereal, moody metal similar to Galactic Cowboys and early King's X. My fav is 'It Takes so Long' and 'Higher'.

From: David Ohlerking Date: January 13, 2003 at 20:59
I want to find the rest of the demos that this record came from. Some of them were better than the album. Also this came out on vinyl, I would like to buy it if anyone is selling one. Hi Monty and Alan.

From: BOURRILLION Date: March 4, 2003 at 22:02
I have been looking for a copy of this CD (album)forever. It is awesome. I do believe it is out of print and can not find it in any of the local music stores in Houston. If anyone out there has a copy and would like to share. Please e-mail me @ abourrillion@yahoo.com. It would be greatly appreciated.

I love this album.

From: Frank P. Date: May 13, 2003 at 3:35
This is one of my all time favs!!! I only wish there was more (

From: Gregg W. Date: October 29, 2003 at 13:08
This a wonderful album. Too bad there was only 1 release. But I hear suspicious rumors of The Awful Truth II on the horizon.

From: Houston rocker Date: December 12, 2003 at 22:06
I looked through every King's X album I could find. Yeah, fooled me. I thought 'wow, Doug's voice has some amazing range' :-D Anyone have the lyrics to Drowning Man? Cool song.

From: MagMos Date: February 27, 2004 at 14:12
Mitt absoluta favvoalbum alla kategorier. Skulle jag bara få ta med mej en enda platta på en öde ö skulle det bli just denna. Ruggarns schyssta låtar rakt igenom. Stora tummen upp! Rock on!

Hello Dave von O! I don't have yer demos, but I do still have the 'nose' to the pig truck. Rock on! msansom@mchsi.com P.S. Did you know that Bill Brown is REALLY fat?

From: David Ohlerking Date: March 6, 2004 at 11:42
Bill Brown is the greatest guitar player that there is. His alledged girth is probably just a physical manifestation of this greatness.

From: TrollKing Date: March 6, 2004 at 12:27
And/or his ego, one could say. Yet there's no doubt The Man can still wail! But wouldn't you think, twenty-some-odd years later, that he might have changed his hairstyle?

From: Date: March 8, 2004 at 12:09
I guess it works for him.

From: dudley Date: May 29, 2004 at 20:47
David is cool, which makes me cool really small rocks (with odd britians' accent)

From: wyrdgrl Date: June 10, 2004 at 3:19
spam, eggs, and spam...even if the record wasn't the definitive experience of the band that was 'the awful truth',it is a fine memory to be kept alive, and i am glad i have my copy listened to it again just yesterday, the songs that exist within the arrangements are still perfect,angst-filled,magical tributes to david's exceptional muse.

From: David O Date: June 12, 2004 at 10:19

From: jamie Date: January 13, 2005 at 0:55
david is a good friend, and a great artist. his style of illustration is high in contrast, very bold, almost mystical. david's music is slow, fast, heavy, melodic, disturbing and beautiful. he has a style all of his own. one day, it may be imitated, yet never copied. jamie, western north carolina

From: high enough Date: January 20, 2005 at 8:50
very good hard rock hotboy and casanova mix song

From: David O Date: April 13, 2005 at 21:20
maybe a little too high?

From: TrollKing Date: August 18, 2005 at 11:16
Thought I'd leave a little comment to liven up this discussion, so here it is: "E burres stigano!" David O, hope you're doing well!
