This was a pretty good release.Wouldnt put it in the BEST EVER category but was pretty darn good with some straight ahead rock.

Sorry, but RIOT w/o Guy Speranza isn't RIOT anymore ...

From: Waylon 92 Date: May 8, 2004 at 16:05
I really enjoyed this album. In my opion it's a classic with good songs. Restless Breed, Showdown and Over to You are some of my favorites.

Rhett Forrester's singing; Mark Reale's guitar playing. 'nuff said!

From: Big Papa K Date: June 14, 2004 at 17:49
Change of singers and I am not that big of a fan of Forrester's voice. The songwriting also drops a notch with more of a blues influence instead of the straight ahead metal of the last album. Where is the better follow up album Born In America on this site? 6/10

This one falls right in line with the meaning of the word,"AWESOME"!!!! This one will chop your head off and kick it down the gutter. A must have for any Riot fan.

Another landmark album from Riot hot on the heels of the landmark Fire Down Under. Rhett Forrester does a fine job here and was a good fit for the band. I believe they had their first taste of commercial success with this album.

Ay up.....just noticed the extra tracks on this - they MUST be from the Riot Live E.P. released on Elektra (same cover near enough as the RIOT Live CD that came out) - I thought they had never been released on shiny disc, the live version of Loved by You is blistering. Great stuff. Wow might have to track this down now!

Another essential Riot album 4 sure...enjoyable numbers of pure and classic Heavy Metal/Hard Rock..."Hard Lovin' Man" is a short yet cool track, excellent i must say,"C.I.A." is a highlight one,"Restless Breed" is a smooth yet powerful song,"When I Was Young" is a song that i liked a lot,"Loanshark" is pure Dynamite!,"Loved By You" is a cool song with a nice harmonica performance done by Rhett Forrester himself (r.i.p),"Over To You" has some AOR feel,a highlight ,"Showdown" has some Whitesnake and Triumph sound of that stage,a smoothie one,"Violent Crimes" rocks and the live bonus tracks from the 1982 Ep rules too as they are (as you can notice) from this release...buy and enjoy!.92/100

Riot were never the same without Guy Speranza but that's not to say this isn't good. The songs are still there & would have sounded awesome with Speranza singing them. Regardless Rhett Forrester does a reasonable job & apart from their first three albums this is one of Riot's best. "Showdown", "Over to you", "Restless breed" & "Loved by you" are top tracks & the rest are pretty good.

From: hair metal again Date: February 10, 2014 at 11:52
excellent release by RIOT and again the band seems to be somewhere between the hard rock and the newborn heavymetal genre!the songs are great and anthemic and Rhett does a great job in vocal!"hard lovin man " is an all time RIOT classic and my personal fav!

From: underworld king Date: February 16, 2014 at 9:38
I love all eras of Riot but IMHO the Rhett Forrester and Mike DiMeo eras are sorely overlooked. With Mark Reale (RIP) behind the axe RIOT always delivered the goods. I am looking forward to Riot V as Mike Flyntz is an excellent shredder as well as witnessed on Immortal Soul.
