This is such an awesome CD. Every song is so put together. Never get tired of listening to it. Tony's guitar playing is the best yet. Love it. Need more music like this .

This is a very blues-driven, bar rock and roll album. I am not a big fan of bar bands, so that could be the main source of me not liking 'Electric Rattlebone' all that much. It's just not my cup of tea. I would recommend SO many more early nineties rock and roll cds over this one but yet, it still isn't that bad. Though this cd does not hold my interest it might hold yours. The musianship is good, nothing spectacular or to brag home about, but good. Decent rock & roll record. 7.0/10 stars.

Dean Davidson has a great voice for this stuff and while they do a great job of trying to pull it off it sounds like they just listened to the Crowes "Shake Your Moneymaker" and simply tried to rewrite it. I was so stoked about this album when it came out but it's just pretty average and I don't care what style of music you play the SONGS have still gotta be there. That being said if you enjoy the Crowes or Humble Pie this is worth your time to check out.

I got this album when it came out because I like "dizzy" Dean Davidson. I played it over and over. And I do like it, but it is a little hollow. Dean keeps trying to make it. He was going by the name "Jarod Dean" and didn't cut it. Now he is trying a new project called "Love Saves The Day". I wonder how this will go?

When I first got this album I thought it would be like Britny Fox. I was wrong I like the album, but I dont love it. Good musicianship and utilization of the instruments.

I met Dean when I saw Blackeyed Susan open for The Bulletboys back in 1992. Dean was a really cool guy and we went back by the tour bus were the rest of the band was hanging out. We all talked for a long time and reminisced about Britny Fox. I don't think you will ever see Dean with B.F. again.

Well, I asked him why he left B.F. and he just kinda looked up in the air and shook his head. He said that the music they were playing just didn't fit what he wanted to play. He told me (believe it or not) that he wanted a sound more like The Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart. Everything that I have heard and read about lately makes it sound like he still feels that way.

Blackeyed Susan had made a demo in 1992 called "JUST A TASTE." This demo only existed on tape, not CD and was never released. Dean Davidson formed a whole new band under the name Blackeyed Susan. Members included: Jimmy Marchiano (guitar), Jeff Cease (guitar), Walter D. Williams (bass), Joey Marchiano (drums).

jason, I was watching the movie Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man the other day and one of the last songs sounded very familiar. After watching the credits I realized it was the song Ride With Me by Blackeyed Susan. For some reason, I thought that movie was out before Blackeyed Susan even formed.

If I remember it right, the song "Ride With Me" was playing while the credits were rolling. The movie might have been out first? Sometimes a band has a song on a soundtrack and then will putt it on their upcoming album. A good example of that is, Cinderella'a song "Hot And Bothered." It was on the Wayne's world soundtrack and then Cinderella put it on their STILL CLIMBING album.

this album doesnt sound nothing like britny fox but its still great its a lot like cinderellas heartbreak station or the black crowes shake your money maker which isnt a bad thing if your b.f fans buying this cd because of dizzy this might not be your cup of tea but if you like b.f. and also bands like the black crowes you will enjoy it like i did

Yeah, it extremely worths to have this album. There is really good music here. But I think Dean was also doing well in Britny Fox. For me it's wrong to compare these two. This is like a Britny Fox playing Black Crowes. Think it as a Dizzy Dean side project.

I once read somewhere that the reason Dean left Britny Fox was because he wanted them to play bluesier Stones-like music. The other guys weren't into that so he formed his own band. Blackeyed Susan's music is good, but in a different vein than Britny Fox. You gotta give Dean credit for trying something different.

It was mentioned that Jeff Cease worked w/ Dean on some demos and Blackeyed Susan does have a Black Crowes feel to it... oddly enough Jeff Cease is (or was?) in Black Crowes. ah, the irony. and wasn't Rick Criniti the 'extra' guy in Cinderella (was in the 'somebody save me' video)... lot of Cinderella connections w/ Britny Fox / Blackeyed Susan

one of the greatest albums that was never big. lots of catchy songs. a few very minor hits/songs that were in movies. showed that dean davidson had more than that high register of singing. lots of bluesy bar band type of music. 2 or 3 songs were actually gonna be for the 3rd britny fox album but he left and took his talent with him. too bad he stopped using that high raspy regisster as much he was good at it. best song out of the bunch is the ballad best or friends that could have been a #1 hit.

Dean leaving Britny Fox is one of those splits that turned out better for both parties. Dean got to play music more like the Stones and put this awesome slice out, and Britny gets Paris and puts out what I consider to be their best album, the criminally underated and ignored 'Bite Down Hard'. Everyone wins. I love this record. My fave is the last song, 'Heart Of The City'. The rhythm section really cooks on that track. Great groove.

I think I remember reading that Dean wanted to get as far away as possible from his Britny Fox style falsetto. It is a good disc (unlesas you're expecting Britny Fox).

speaking of the rolling stones and rod stewart, ron wood played with rod stewart before the rolling stones. ron wood played with rod stewart in the jeff beck group, the faces, and on some of rod stewart's solo material. rolling stones and rod stewart have also both done blues-rock type music.

I'm sure Freddy still won't come to the boards, hell he's still using a fake name. A terminal case of "huevos pequeños" IMHO... anywho, to stay on topic I thought this was a pretty decent rock 'n' roll album, but the best part was that it came with a high quality sticker that still exists on my guitar case as of this day...

Sounds kinda like Britny Fox, looks kinda like Britny Fox. It must be Britny Fox. No, but it is the band of former BF vocalist Dizzy Dean Davidson. From what I remember, Dizzy was 'let go' from his former band as many reviews said he was the band's weakness. Hmm...from the strength of this bluesy metal affair, I'd say that wasn't the case at all. As a matter of fact, it was his vocals that gave B.F. their charisma and charm. So, this CD is as enjoyable as the first two Britny Fox albums.

The second one doesn't sound anything like this. It's more Black Crowes sounding than the Black Crowes sometimes. That said Andre, the second one has ten really good straight blues rock songs. I'm convinced that with some polishing and production it would have been a positive move forward for these guys.

The comparison to a Cinderella/Black Crowes combo is pretty accurate. These guys are better than the Crowes but not as good as Cinderella in my book. A departure from the majority of hard rock from that era but not 100% original. It's not worth rushing out to find it but it is definitely worth picking up if you run across a good used copy.

This isn't half bad. I'm working on getting myself a copy from ebay. Well, to Andre,there is no Dean Davidson site..(atleast I don't think so) but there is BritnyFox which pretty much gives you every bit of Dean information. As for the second album by Blackeyed susan, don't expect to get your hands on it...it was never released on cd...only on cassette as a demo tape.Everyone in the band is different except Dean in that 1992 demo...figuring the song titles aren't so great,you're not missing much

I found this in a pawn shop but had forgot that Dizzy sang on it, so it was a nice surprise to hear his voice when I threw it in. Great change of pace album to throw in while kicking back & enjoying a cold brew.

Pretty decent CD that can be gotten pretty cheap. "Best Of Friends" and "Ride With Me" are the highlights. The rest are not bad, just not what I expected. Worth getting.

A real attempt to get back to his "roots" or another stab at fame from old Dizzy? The music sounds genuine, but hell, at that time everyone was pulling out the blues/70's jams to stay alive. There are a few songs I just love and a bunch that are boring filler. I would say it is worth a buck or two for "Ride With Me", "None of it Matters", and "Best of Friends".

I bought this on cassette when I was stationed in Korea. I don't think I ever listened to it all the way through. Just plain terrible. If you liked Britny Fox'es first album this is nothing like it. Very disapointing.:-(

After Dizzy Dean's departure(thrown out for too many fights) from Britney Fox, he started up this band. This is more like cinderella than Britny Fox, but done poorly. A very boring album here. No real stand out tracks, just very average hard rock/blues. Cinderella did this way better on the Heartbreak Station album. 5/10....

To me, Dizzy Dean did an admirable job at trying to be the worst voice in hard rock history. Unfortunately to combat that cause, occasionaly with Britny Fox he would sing and not scream, and not sound that bad. And here we also see that his voice really isn't that bad. His departure was best for himself and Britny Fox and I appreciate him going off to do his own thing, but to me this is pretty bad... but I'm sure quite good if you like Black Crowes. Good on him, but this was not for me.

Dean was the main reason Britny Fox had a chance. Once he left, he took the chemistry with him. Blackeyed Susan became a much better band than what became of BF, IMHO. And I like Dizzy Dean's vocals better here than on BF... back then it reminded me too much of Tom from Cinderella.

I loved Dean with Britny Fox but this one was pretty good. A totally different sound though. Their kind of a cross between the Quireboys and the Black Crowes (IMO). My favorite track here is "Ride With Me". It's a shame Dean hasn't done anything else with these guys. I heard he had another project called "Love Saves The Day" but I don't know what it sounded like. Anyone have any info on this?

This album is average at best. One of Dean's many attempts to reinvent himself. In this one he attampts a bluesy hard rock album and formed a band to do it. Most of the songs don't stand out and I forget which ones are which. None of it Matters is notable for the Sitar while Best of Friends is notable for it being dedicated to original Britny drummer Tony Destra. Dean is obviously vindictive as there isn't one mention of his old band, any of his other former band mates or to his old nickname of "Dizzy". Anyway, the whole album has a laid back feel to it and there are no hooks or catchy melodies to keep me coming back to this one. Dean's voice is slightly better on this one than his Britny releases simply because there are no awful attempts at trying to sound like Tom Kiefer. Some songs are quite experimental like Indica while others are boring mid tempo rockers like Satisfaction. This album has nolvelty value only to see another side of Dean's lack of talent. 70/100

I could hear some similarities here and there with The Quireboys and The Black Crowes...some touches of Tesla too...decent album for me this was,no more than that..."Satisfaction" is a rocking song that is followed by the catchy one "None Of It Matters"..."Sympathy","Ride With Me","She's So Fine" & "Heart Of The City" are acceptable songs...and well not to left aside the more than good bluesy track "How Long"...if u fancy the bands i mentioned above as "influences" then Blackeyed Susan is your bad to be!!!.88/100

Blackeyed Susan & Britny fox, both band's main singer was Dean Davidson, but voice is different. I don't know how it is possible. If you listen, you will feel the difference. In this album how long is the good song.

Lots of hair-bands were trying to go all southern-rock in the early '90's. According to Billy Childs, Dizzy Dean Davidson was already trying to steer Britny Fox in that direction when he left that band after a hotel fistfight on tour. That would have been right around the time most people were first hearing the Black Crowes—a band who hated hair metal and said so often and loudly, and yet a lot of hair-bands ended up trying to imitate. Which brings us to Blackeyed Susan, Dean's next project. The first (only?) single was "None Of It Matters," so right away people got a healthy dose of twang courtesy of the sitar. Dean pings in his "normal" voice pretty much full-time, which is nice, but he still couldn't escape being seen as a poor man's Tom Keifer, especially since Cinderella beat him to the punch again with the similarly swampy (but better) Heartbreak Station coming out several months earlier. You'd be forgiven for thinking, as many people did, that he was still trying to ride the Cin

... Cinderfellas' coattails, which I suspect was not at all the impression he wanted to make. That said, the songs here are pleasant and mostly laid-back, but not very memorable, and the whole bluesy/southern thing just comes off as very contrived. Not as bad as Tattoo Rodeo, but it's little surprise people didn't take to Blackeyed Susan.
