| Where are the Creed in which i came on hear to listen to? i wanted to hear Creed as in my sacrafice. I do not reccomend this album to anyone sorry!

| There was an earlier hard rock band called Creed, too. They released an album on Elektra/Asylum in the late 70s. It was a pretty cool album. I thought this might have been the same band, but alas it is not.

| How comes it seems impossible on this site to find people able to love other styles ? Is there anybody here thinking one can love stuffs like Danger Danger, Judas Priest, The Smiths, Kyuss, Alice In Chains, The Cult , Vivaldi, Granddady, Morphine, James Brown, Faith No More, Motley Crue, Ryan Adams, Molly Hatchet. There are some many good things to pick on various genres, why restricted oneself that much ? I know what this site is about but not necessary to puke on other styles just to emphasize

| No problem if you listen to music that doesnt sound like hard rock, or metal only you can not call you self a hard rocker or a metalhead. It that is no problem for you, keep listening to other music. I dont need it because i like all kind of metal and hard rock but of course, always from the 80s or with a 80s sound and attitude.

| Thanks Rene .... Did I say I wanted to be called a metalhead ? Is that some kind of reward ? If you only like metal from the 80's, great, not a problem to me, my only problem is people who puke on genres they don't like, I don't see the point, that's all. I mean to deserve respect you have to show some too... I have about 900 CD and you can say that about 75% are related to metal, hard rock or call it whatever you like. But I also enjoy other genres as well, not focusing on how it is classified

| I like Manowar, Judas Priest (my favourite Heavy metal band), Iron Maiden and so on...and yet I also like Granddady. And I feel Judas Priest and Granddady both deserve respect. And to me grunge brought us great bands such as Soundgarden, Alice In Chains or The Screaming trees. This 3 bands are associated to the Grungre though they are very different one from the others...see how you can limited yourself only being guided by all this terms... That's all I claim. And Rene, long live metal man...

A very good, underrated album.. Definitely worth getting if you like heavy/melodic metal with the 80's touch, and you want to be able to say you own a Creed CD and confuse people.  Sign of Victory, Prayer of Praise, and In The Dark (SPEED METAL BABY!), rule.

| This is the first and original band that was called "CREED" They were a Christian Metal Band. I have this on CD and it is a real classic in Christian Metal. The album was produced by Ulf Christianson the lead singer from another early '80's band. By the way, there is nothing wrong with the new band called Creed, they are also a Christian band, or did'nt you know that? Just liston to there lyrics closly and you'll see. Anyway, as for the above, CREED - The Sign Of Victory,it is a jem.Get it!

| Nope, this was not the first band to use the name "Creed". I used to have a 1978 album from a different band with the name(and I don't think they were a Christian band). It was on Elektra/Asylum records, and I think it was the only album they ever released. It was pretty straightfoward hard rock a la Montrose, but it also had some AOR moments as well. I don't have my vinyl anymore, but I think I still have it on a cassette somewhere. Just wanted to set things straight... or maybe just add to the

| Gar has it right : the one and only Creed is the band from Hal Butler and Ingle from 1978 on Asylum ! And boy : they only made one album, but what and album ! It's in my top 10 of all times ! Full of a unique sound, blistering guitars and stunning keys, this is a MASTERPIECE, a real CLASSIC in every sense of the word. Go and search that pearl. It's a crime that it is still not on CD ! Worth every penny ! Forget this Creed and the popular nu-metal Creed ! The guys from 1978 are the real Creed !!!

| I would point out that while the 1978 CREED release others have posted comments on above may be great, that is NOT the release here to be commented on - SIGN OF VICTORY is an excellent melodic metal release! Songs with great feeling & outstanding vocals, I would highly recommend this release to any Christian metal enthusiast. A great example of the genre, I would rank this as one of the better offerings on the Pure Metal label.

| Acceptable Melodic Metal album.."Sign Of Victory" is a solid starter,"Taken By Storm" is pure metal,"Broken Heart" is the "soft" track of the album,plenty of melody and with some AOR passages especially in the chorus,"Child" is a good power ballad,"Tonite" is an explosive song,a highlight of the album,"Break The Chainz" is Accept influenced and "In The Dark" closes the album with dignity..84/100

| Some preety nice rock/metal here. Most of the up-tempo rock tracks are worth hearing but my favorite it the ballad "Tonite". Worth having in any collection!
