Great hard aor album, great rockers, great ballads, great sound (thanx Mr. Hughes), if you like Journey you'll be pleased with this album, highlights: if you're ever lonely,we'll find a way and walk away.

This guy sounds like my separated-at-birth twin! Amazing voice! The question is, does he sound more like me than that Augeri guy who stole my Journey gig? What do ya think?

If you like melodic AOR, you can't go wrong with Hugo. Mr. Perry, the obvious winner is Hugo. I never thought I would hear another voice with the unique qualities of yours, until I discovered Hugo. If you think his voice is amazing on this one, in my opinion, it gets even better on his lastest, 'Time on Earth.' The world of music is more enjoyable thanks to the both of you. The sad thing is, why hasn't classic Rock Radio picked up on Hugo, or many of the other great bands on the Net?

Easy, Mr. P. I think we're both not as irreplaceable as we think we are, as long as this Hugo fellow is running around.

Journey fans: stop reading this review right now, and run out and buy this if you don't already have it. This is delectible AOR, dripping with all the juices of melodic hard rock pleasure you could ever imagine. If rock was a cut of meat, this is lean strip of fillet mignon wrapped in bacon and served up with sauteed mushrooms on fine china.

If you Like Valentine check out Hugo the singer you won't be disappointed. One of those albums that make you feel so good when you listen to it. One of my favourite Aor releases. Jay from Australia.

This is one of those albums that is just worth 100% whenever you listen to it....one of the best albums ever recorded. Check out his website at www.hugomusic.net . This guy rocks like Journey....there should be a copy in every household.....go out and get this one!!!

Koogles and Rob have it right again. This man has class, a deadringer for mr.Perry, but Hugo's solorecords are far better than mr.Perry's solo-albums. This is typical class AOR, much rockier than Perry and way better ! Great stuff, checq also his second record out, it's in the same, great vein. And I'm looking forward to hear his third work, out very soon ! Buy !

If you love AOR and AOR only, this is the stuff for you. If you like your AOR with a little more balls...avoid. When I'm in the mood for this, it's awesome. Good melodies, vocals and harmonies, but it doesn't really rock. 7/10.

Wonderful stuff. As previously stated, this absolutely reaks of Journey and Hugo's vocals and looks are identical to Perry (circa 81). This is the same guy that auditioned for Journey in late 97 and failed the audition as Schon and Cain did not want a Perry clone. This is great stuff though, and a worthy addition to any AOR fans collection.

great cd,the best of the three he has made. Hugo would have made an excelent new JOURNEY singer,he has a sooooo much better voice than Steve Augeri

Steve Perry has been an influence for many grear singers(Tate,Labrie,Vaughn etc) but this guy here makes you laugh.Everybody wants to sound like Perry when he was young,Hugo sounds like Perry when he got old hahahah! He's not bad though but the album should have been better considering the support from Ten.'Walk away' is the highlight for me.The comparison with Augeri is stupid.Journey wanted a guality singer, frontman, musician that Augeri proved he is,not a good cover singer-actor like Hugo is.

Hugo is no singer-actor, giorgios. The man has the voice he has. He's born with that voice. And his records are better than the solo records from Mr. Perry !, which are soft pop ! All Hugo records are great to listen to !

This is one brilliant album. If you're ever lonely is one of the greatest rocking AOR/Melodic Rock anthems ever with a spine chilling guitar solo. The ballad a tear in LA is a real work of art.Other great tracks include desire, walk away, standing alone and we'll find a way.All the songs are pleasant trophies of AOR at it's best.10/10

Ok - he is sounding so close to Perry but definately he is not a clone, at least he is not a bad one! The album has good songs with strong melodies and will please all fans who are into Journey. Very uplifting hooks and some great guitar leads are played. Vinny Burns is easily the best British rock guitarist, his solos are: WOW!

The first track here is immense!!! 'Walk away' and 'If you're ever lonely' are great melodic rockers, but the rest?! Did he really write ad record 'All the people you love'?! In my top 5 worst songs of all time, without a doubt!!! F*cking dreadful. This album is pretty cool, but I hate all the ballads and think he should stick with melodic rockers. These type of ballads are why people make jokes of melodic rock.

This is a really good AOR-album but just a little bit overrated IMO. 'Walk away', 'Crazy' (Killer chorus) and the last two songs are phenomenal but I don't hyperventilate over this as a whole album. And I'm not to keen on Gary Hughes producing either, he should write great songs and sing instead of producing! With all that said you must have this album anyway because it is a true reminder that A.O.R. was still alive in the nineties!

I think this is the best HUGO album by faaaar. In this record we can listen songs in a very JOURNEY style, like someone said previously, with the 'Trial By Fire' sounding, some FOREIGNER elements, a little bit of VALENTINE, and HUGOŽs voice in a very good performance, in fact i think this is his best vocal work. Songs like 'Walk Away', 'WeŽll Find A Way' and especially 'If You Are Ever Lonely' are the highlights in a very solid album!!

Pleasant album, pleasant vocalist, yes PODEROSO YIRO,plenty of Journey flavourish style(bad or good???,a matter of tastes but for me is digestible)...best shots are "We'll Find A Way","Crazy"(smoothie),"All That You Wanted","If You're Ever Lonely" & "Desire"...86/100

Feels like you guys have rated only the first song and not the whole album... We'll Find A Way is a hit, classy AOR, but the rest is mediocre and the production is not as good as many of you claim.

What's the point in singing EXACTLY the same way as Steve Perry?
|
From: MysticHealer |
Date: November 17, 2017 at 15:54 |
He doesn't sing exactly like Perry at all as Hugo has very little power in the vocals. NOBODY sings like Steve Perry.
