Another great release by Hugo. This guy has a phenominal voice. His first solo cd is still the best, but I'd have to say this one is in a close second

From: Rockhead Date: June 8, 2004 at 4:16
Agree with T-Bone, this is not quite as good as the debut, but beats the follow up hands down. A harder more rocking affair that will appeal to fans of Journey (sorry Freaky), Hugo, Valentine etc.An excellent blend of rockers and smoulding ballads.

From: TIM (2) Date: June 8, 2004 at 5:15
This is really good. I wasn't expecting much as I'd read pre-views saying how bad the production was, but (although it's not a million dollars) it certainly doesn't spoil a really good set of tunes. Not in the league of his excellent debut, but no-one else is really doing this stuff at the moment so snap it up.

I agree with the above persons : good AOR, seldom made these days. His second best and recommended ! But keep also your fingers crossed for the new Stan Bush CD 'Shine', which could be the AOR album of the year ! Fantastic !

Hugo on an off day is still better than most AOR bands on their best. While this doesn't qualify as a misfire (by any stretch), the production is thinner than Celine Dion's left leg. Still, Hugo's voice carries the CD beautifully. Journey fans won't be disappointed, especially when he rips off "I'll Be Alright Without You" and "After the Fall", combining them into "I'll Learn To Live Without You". Derivative though it may be, it's also the finest song here, and one of Hugo's best tracks ever.

A good solid release from Hugo, although still not in the same league as his debut.Unfortunately for him, until he produces CD of the century, the debut versus current release argument will carry on.On the plus side Hugo has given us AOR fans an album that does not disappoint and recommends a purchase. 9/10

The last 2 tracks are simply awesome. This artist needs a big budget, the best session musicians and the best Producer. His voice is phenomenal.

Now this is more like it. I still dislike his lyrics, but 'It's the love', 'I'll learn to live without you', 'Dawn' and 'Don't wanna say goodbye' are splendid peices of AOR. And just when you think you've had enough, the pathetic lyrics of 'Everytime you walk away' comes through the speakers and blows you away with what is a sensational melodic rock song. Yeah, I still hate the lyrics but he delivers the goods in terms of songs this time round. IMO, his best yet.

I was surprised by this one, not a huge Journey fan, but I love this one, all the songs are great, a mix of rockers and ballads and some stronger then the others. Hand, Fire and It;s the love start the first half out in a rockin way. A few ballads bring it down a bit, but Her I am is one of the best ballads I have heard in a while. Great album, production is lacking a bit but the songs make up for that!!!

From: Wachen Date: March 22, 2005 at 5:10
I think this CD is a bit overlooked compared to his, in most people's opinion Magnum Opus, debut. I think this one is great, especially "Dawn" and "I'll learn to live without you". The production is raw, but not poor in any way. I really dig this one, Hugo is truly one of the best! 8/10

I remember playing my mate Bruce (Mee of Now and Then Recs and Fireworks magazine fame Name dropper) this I bemoaned the fact that the guitars were too low in the mix and Hugos voice as ever was way too forward. He rightly pointed out that the big deal with Hugo is the voice..and it is a wonderful voice. The production is a little more gritty on this than his previous releases and it doesn't suffer at all for it. A solid release 8/10. Bruce eventually got a signed copy...damn his connections!!!

Looks like this guy wants to be Steve Perry. Take the Journey cover band on the road, mix in some originals & probably the 1 or 2 people on earth that don't know who Steve Perry or Journey is would be satisfied.

From: giorgos-greece Date: August 2, 2006 at 10:37
Boring, uninspired, cheesy! every hugo album seems to be worse that the previous one. While the first record was good enough , time on earth has only 3-4 highlights and now this one....as predictable as it can be...not to mention bad production. he surely needs to find new direction in his career...how about concentrate in his journey cover band? More decent i think...

From: z4roxx Date: February 18, 2007 at 16:08
7.06 is really a shame here. It's less good than the previous 2 but 7/10 is too low....

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 25, 2007 at 18:41
Disco correcto. Buenas ejecuciones musicales.

Fantastic! As long Hugo keeps releasing albums like this, I don't mind if he doesn't get the gig with Journey! everyones a winner!
