Adequate AOR disc but not in the league of Prophet. Good musicianship on the riffs and tempo but the lyrics and vocal presentation leave alot to be desired.

While not an instant classic, this sophomore ARCARA release still offers everything melodic hard rock fans are fond of. The guitars could have had more bite, but they still fire off plenty of cool riffs and catchy hooks. The choruses are upfront and consistently memorable, utilizing a slick, polished, multi-layered harmony vocal approach. All this works together to create a melodic hard rock release that should grow on listeners over time.

I heard some of these songs at an American Angel show...I was psyched because I thought Rocco was singing on it...oh well

Well, I confess that I've heard a few songs, but I like 'Gunshy' a lot.

This band rocks!!! Great name! Where did it come from?

From: Rycheage Date: September 20, 2004 at 21:22
This pales in comparison to the Prophet CD's. "Gunshy" is probably the best out of a very forgettable bunch. You would do yourself a great favor by getting the Prophet CD's first which has Russell Arcara singing lead on them before you get this.

There's some nice melodic hard rock here like 'Blonde and blue', the awesome 'Far cry from you' and to a lesser extent, 'The fight ain't over'. Yeah, it's not magician's work and pretty average AOR, but it has it's moments and ain't that bad.

Ok cd, much better compared to the previous one, not comparable to "Cycle of the Moon" which is way superior. It does have a nice acoustic edge which at times reminded me of old Triumph. I'd say 6.5 / 10.

Great album!!!...a drastic change of music direction, from melodic metal/melodic hard rock to AOR songs ..."Gunshy","Lost In Time","Fight Ain't Over"(nice song, reminds me of the band RTZ),"A Matter Of Time","Far Cry From You" & "Let It Ride"(killer song!)are my faves...full recommended...90/100

i discover this record only now.better late than never.i ve receive this cd in japan import,no bonus tracks but the order of the songs is different than the escape music version.to be very honest there is four very average songs on this album:"a matter of time" "let it ride""believer" and "gunshy".no problem for the eight others songs.it s a top class a o r record.russell arcara have a beautiful voice but the main attraction of this cd is stephen deacutis.he is a very fine and very brilliant guitarist.more, he write all songs and produce the album.he give to this excellent record, a sensational production and an exceptional sound.more clear and more pure it s impossible.more make short i recommand this superb a o r realise.this cd will stay in my collection.for my new winter s auctions rendez- vous thursday.
