Very Good AOR album by the great guitar player Sven from Street Talk/Ximena, this album can easily remind you of Street Talk in many songs. Some songs are very Westcoast-ish in sound and a bit jazzy as well, Beautiful subtle solos ála Street Talk. My favorite tracks are "Bastard"(My favorite) and the ballad "It´s Over". Tracks 9,10,11 sounds just ok for me. 8/10 |

This guy can really play a guitar! He has the soul and feel of Lukather and Schon. Very clean soloing and soulful and nice tone, too. Seems the motivation behind many of the songs is the feel of maybe Sven's influences, like Steely Dan, Toto, and the like. That being said, this is IMO a hit and miss cd. There are some really great moments here (the highlight being The Tube, showcasing Sven's soloing), and Fly On By, but other songs don't really grab me. Sven is a good singer though, and overall I like this cd. Like any good Toto album, there is alot of different styles here, which is good. The only song that really reminds me of Street Talk much is the first track. |

Sweet Westcoast/AOR stuff ala Street Talk (Fredrik Bergh plays keys on here) Toto and maybe a dash of Steely Dan thrown into the pot. Quite eclectic stylewise from the opening AOR of 'Sunlight And Shadow' and the excellent 'Eagle' to the more diverse instrumentals in 'Tube' and 'Candy', more upbeat rockers 'I'll Turn My Back' and sweet ballads like 'It's Over'. Sven is a very tasty little player aswell, with some lovely subtle solo's throughout and along with a lovely crisp production job, this makes a very nice little disc indeed. |

Very nice album with some dull moments IMHO but at the end leaves you a good sensation about it..Sven is like the Yngwie Malmsteen of Westcoast ...he plays some excellent melodic guitar parts in certain songs trying to be a highlight in that matter and he quite accomplished it for the satisfaction of us,the listeners...my fave tracks are "Sunlight And Shadow","This Is Not The Right Time"(nice),"Bastard","It's Over"(nice),"I'll Turn My Back"(rocks good),"The Neighbour"(rocks good too)& "Candy"(a good rocking instrumental)....82/100 |
