Second album with an edgier sound but still conserving what they did on their debut..here is when i saw them live..it was a show especially because of the pre-release of this album... the concert was at The Marquee(London's legendary rock venue) in 1989...they played it almost all the songs of it plus of course songs of The Broadcast..."Year In The Wilderness","Everything But My Pride"(beautiful song),"(Between A) Rock And A Hard Place","The Last Thing"(with a nice sax),"Reach For The Sky"....these 2 albums posted here are their best even though they have released others,these are the essence of the band.Nick Van Eede put the band together recently but being him the only original member left (sadly Kevin Scott MacMichael passed away years ago and no news about Beedle & Farley )...anyway buy it with eyes wide shut!...The Scattering and The Broadcast 2 essential albums 4 sure.100/100.

Nothing like their album debut IMO! but really a Great Melodic POP/Rock album. Here i can find another wonderful track called "Everything With My Pride" Marvelous Ballad that is in my Top 50! the best track of this excellent album in my opinion. 8.8/10

Not quite as good as the excellent 'Broadcast' but still a good, solid, quality album. '(Between A) Rock And A Hard Place) & 'Everything But My Pride' will be the songs on here that most people are aware of, but as with the debut, there is more to this album than 2 songs. Unfortunately, apart from the 2 previous hits and the 2 on here, this band didn't really hit the heights they deserved (in comparison to some of the awful rubbish that was around at the time). if you get the chance, check both the first 2 discs out as there are lots of gems to be had.
