What can I say about this album except that it rocks BIG time !! David Victor sure knows how to write a top quality hard rock song. This album has everything from super vocals and sterling guitar work to choruses that are catchier than a virus. Full of hard rock gems and ballad masterpieces. David...hurry up and bring out the sequel !!

Well, the sequel is out... sort of. The EP 'Activator' came out earlier this year. A lot of people like it... and a lot of people don't. I put myself in the latter camp. Most of the trademark vocals are still there, but instrumentally it has a heavier, darker, more 'modern' sound (if ya know what I mean). I was disappointed by it. YMMV.

From: MelodicBoy Date: August 12, 2001 at 17:47
Totally agree! Got 'Activator' when it came out, and was VERY disappointed. If I wanted dark, sludgy-sounding stuff I'd buy some of that Seattle crap. Death to grunge!

From: Rob Date: October 10, 2001 at 11:33
This album rocks! Why it not receive major radio play is beyond me.

Couldn't agree anymore with DandoulakisMike on this one, to me it sounds like Steelhouse Lane, maybe I've got MTM in my mind but this cd is packed with quility just like Steelhouse Lane!

From: ROB GARCIA Date: January 25, 2003 at 16:24
superb melodic rock that punches hard when needed and softens up when required but never a dull moment in here...only high quality material played with inmense belief!.david victor is the star of the show,he can play,he can sing and he can surely write some very inspired melodic rockers.this album has certainly caused an IMPACT in my life!.do yourself a favour and go get this pronto!or youll regret it for the rest of your life!!!!.

Massive release, supergroup. What more can I say. One of the top late 90s releases. This is what Mr Big would sound Like if they rocked out. More than tonight would have been a smash single in the late eighties when good music was played by MTV and radio. It is such a pity so many people will never hear this. I give this a 10 out of 10. brilliant. Jay from Australia.

Mixing the influences of Van Halen,House Of Lords,Night Ranger,Journey and other classic American FM rock acts,Velocity have carved out 10 tracks of great rock n roll that any major label would be proud of. And given the decade we are in,it can be the only reason the band are not on a million dollar contract. That may still happen. Highlights of this great album include the opening track 'You Don't Amaze Me Anymore'. It opens with a big killer riff, and some great vocals and a real groove.

From: FireEyez Date: September 21, 2003 at 6:12
Hey dont know what yall smokin but krck in Slc. utah played ever cut off this cd, they had the new surge of metal going like Motherlode, Sundogs,Triangle, Uglystick, a bunch of bands trying to bring metal back to the table in the USA,

From: erik Date: February 22, 2004 at 18:29
It swept me of my feet. What a great album. Rocks from he first to the last track. Its just that the commercial environment for melodic rock is no longer as good as it was in the 80's and early 90's. Cause otherwise this band would be great. Miner point tho is the second release. Did not live up to all ( well at least ) my expectations. But this album is a well deserved 10 out of 10. Superb. Go out rockers and get yourself a copy of this album !

From: Chad Date: May 23, 2004 at 3:09
Great album! I am a huge fan of the 80's music scene and this a modern version of that type of music. Awesome vocals and musicmanship. I highly recommend!

From: Geoff Date: August 25, 2004 at 21:14
These guys actually remind me of Blue Murder, except I like this one more. 'You don't amze me anymore' is brilliant hard rock and a fave, 'Julia-Ann' is great commercial hard rock, 'Janine' is my favourite track if I recall correctly and 'More than tonight' is a nice ballad. Overall, a good hard rock release.

From: AOR freaky Date: August 26, 2004 at 5:46
I can follow you on this one, Geoff ! You see, I'm not always negative ! Not great, but good anyway.

From: vandervelde Date: October 1, 2005 at 12:24
David Victor is very talented songwriter, maybe not so talented vocalist but he doesn't have to ....this is diffrent than his classic solo AOR release a bit harder with less keys...but melodies are very tight and this is very enjoyable release...recommended

From: BIG-TIME Date: February 29, 2008 at 15:27
WTF you on about vandervelde "maybe not so talented vocalist" his voice is AWESOME the album kicks ass not original but some really good songs here and the voice WOOOHOOOO great stuff STANDOUTS TO ME ARE "ydama" "JANINE" "SHE'S BEEN AROUND" "MORE THAN TONIGHT"...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: darobinson Date: April 28, 2008 at 21:28
This kicks ass!!! You must have this disc just to hear Love Is Dangerous. David Victor also has a solo CD which is also great.

From: juan carlos Date: February 21, 2009 at 19:51
David Victor has an Awesome Voice and you can notice on songs like "Love Is Dangerous" my favorite track, what a Voice! What a Choruses!, The Wonderful Power ballad "Janine", "More Than Tonight" or "You Don't Amaze Me Anymore" my other Faves. "Open Road" is the Instrumental Track, good!. Simply Great Melodic HardRock! 9.4/10

From: erik Date: June 22, 2009 at 12:23
killer album. Be nice if the Category was changed into melodic hard rock. This gem has nothing to do with AOR.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 8, 2010 at 16:20
Good album with good balanced songs(hard rock/ballads the second ones, the ones i like the most)."You Don't Amaze Me Anymore"(good opening song and one of the best song titles ever!),"Supernatural Lover"(another very good track with a "weird" title),"Julia Ann","Janine"(explendid ballad),"More Than Tonight"(semi ballad and a good one too),"Love Is Dangerous"(one of the best tracks) & "Open Road".You'll enjoy this release 4 sure and as i said is a balnaced album..if you like Winger (their second album "Heart Of...") then this Velocity release coulb be an option for your collection.86/100

From: happy2849 Date: October 28, 2010 at 16:40
Well, here is another one I finally pulled out of the pile to play. Sometimes I wonder if I have too many CD's cause so many of them are just a memory. No, I don't have too many. Every time I pull one out and play it I realize why I kept it. This is some great melodic hard rock, with excellent vocals, and top-notch musicianship.

From: 123charpenay Date: October 2, 2013 at 12:54
only 21 comments before me!it s regrettable that many hard rock s fans miss this jewel.personally i m addict to this record since 1998.david victor is a genius.he produce (what exceptional sound) the album,he wrote all the songs and he play all instruments except the guitar s solos and the drums.his drummer is the hyper talented pat torpey!all songs are really killer songs.they have all :fantatic riffs, fantastic solos, super choruses who hooked you immediatly and stay in your brain for a long time.track 10 "open road" is an extraordinary instrumental.for make short this cd is a masterpiece and absoluty essential in all serious melodic hard rock collection.unfortunatelly no bonus track in the japan import but the order of the songs is different than in the mtm realise.

From: Darkstone Date: March 5, 2016 at 5:20
Completely agree with all the above praise on this one. I didn't know anything about them when i saw this on the shelves when it was first released, but was lucky enough in those days to have a small local CD store that allowed us to listen to discs before purchase (something we take for granted now i think). Thirty seconds of "love is dangerous" and i had to have it! Seeing Pat Torpey on drums sealed the deal. After all these years it still rocks hard and is definitely one of my faves. I really don't think there's a weak track on the entire album. If i had to chose a favorite track....probably "you don't amaze me anymore, but really, throw a blanket over the lot. Killer album!
