Wow! One of the best melodic metal highlights in the last century! My estimation: 9

From: DRAGONFLY Date: May 9, 2002 at 17:53
OUTSTANDING RELEASE!!!! PETE SANDBERG IS AT HIS BEST AND I WOULD COMPARE THIS TO HIS WORK WITH THE GROUP ALIEN. GREAT GUITAR PLAYING FROM SVEN. A MUST HAVE IN ANYONE'S COLLECTION.

From: koogles Date: October 22, 2002 at 11:04
I think this does Alien one better. More power and healthier production. "Worlds Apart" is a classy rocker that can compete with the big boys (Da Vinci, Rox Diamond, Treat, etc.)

From: Scandi Date: October 12, 2003 at 19:47
WhATTTT???? This has absolutely not enough power to compare it with the likes of TREAT. It's miles away from that. You know those feeling when you want to listen to something real big and powerful (like good melodic rock) and then you hear such sleepy-headed AOR ?! The best songs here are the ballads "Middle of nowhere" (the intro reminds me of good old IT'S LOVE from NO EXQZE ) or "Alone without you". First I got into "Like an arrow" on a metal sampler from Sweden I thought it w

From: Scandi Date: October 12, 2003 at 19:49
as a joke. Sometimes AOR bores me

From: Scandi Date: October 12, 2003 at 19:52
SORRY TO DAN FOR WASTING ALL THE SPACE.. --Wanted to add: Best rocker is "Teaser, pleaser" if there is one

From: Kristian Date: November 3, 2003 at 19:14
Their second album "Backyard Boogaloo" which was only released in Japan in 1998 has recently been re-released on MTM Classix with three bonus tracks.

From: robert Date: January 19, 2004 at 21:10
me han llegao los 2 ala vez, ya comentare proximamente...

From: sultan6 Date: February 26, 2004 at 7:35
just got the "backyard boogaloo" cd and let me tell you.THESE GUYS SUCK!!!! terrible writing..sound like high school garage band, just plain chessy writing, no fancy hooks , no good lyrics ,just BAD!

From: TIM (2) Date: June 2, 2004 at 13:52
This is really good, much more in the AOR vein than the hard rock of "Backyard Boogaloo". Can't get used to his voice, but the quality of the songs (especially the ballads) is excellent. "Runnin' On Empty" is the best song Alien never did. "Eleanor Rigby" is the worst song ANYONE ever did.

From: Rik Date: August 30, 2004 at 13:02
Great effort. Love the ballad: Middle of nowhere ! Good AOR all in all.

From: Geoff Date: August 31, 2004 at 9:13
This is harmless stuff. Songwriting as simple as it gets, though the song 'Worlds apart' is easily woth the CD alone. Some good melodic rock moments, and a good enough CD for a decent surprise. Agree with Tim (2), 'Eleanor Rigby' is the worst song ever.

From: Dean Date: August 31, 2004 at 10:03
Man-are you guys refering to "Eleanor Rigby" just how these guys did it or even the original. Sorry I'm kind of touchy when people rip on the Beatles. For a killer metal version of that tune-track down Realm's version off of Endless War. Warning- it's pretty fast and pretty heavy with high pitched vocals. Is this band pure AOR or do they have at least a little edge to them? It looks cool at least.

From: Geoff Date: August 31, 2004 at 10:22
Hey Dean - no real edge to these guys. The first track does have a good crisp melodic edge, but the rest is so 'sweet' it's almost poppy. Very much more AOR than rock. As for the Beatles... looks like you don't want to hear my thoughts on them I hate either version of 'Eleanor Rigby', but I am referring to the godawful one here specifically. In reference to this CD, try to get an MP3 off the first track and you should be right, or get it for cheap.

From: TIM (2) Date: September 1, 2004 at 4:23
Hey Dean, I'm with Geoff on this. Have seen your other postings and this doesn't really sound like your thing as it's very typical Scandi AOR. Re:Eleanor Rigby, I've no problem with the original but just can't understand why a band like this would want to cover such a song? Sandberg isn't the world's greatest vocalist, and English isn't his first language, so this was a no-win situation and it spoils the flow of the album. For me though, it's still an awesome album.

From: Dean Date: September 1, 2004 at 10:55
Thanks- yeah I've been warned i wouldn't like this but there is some AOR i like alot I'm just not a die hard like some of you guys. And anyone who covers the Beatles has my attention albeit sometimes very briefly

From: z4roxx Date: January 3, 2005 at 20:01
this cd is perfect Alien clone, not other comparison.Really one of my favorite aor releases.Sven Cirnski a guitar God!!If you hear Bad Habit or Pagan/the weight you'll love it,what a touch!!!

From: juan carlos Date: July 27, 2007 at 0:20
"Alone Without You" "Teaser, Pleaser" y "Stone Cold" de lo mejorcito. Bueno. 8/10

From: coverdale14 Date: October 22, 2007 at 12:33

From: coverdale14 Date: October 22, 2007 at 12:38
HEART ON HOLD, HIGHWAY TO LOVE Y STONE COLD MANTIENE ESE NIVEL DE EXCELENCIA EN TODO BUEN ALBUM AOR. CIERRA EL DISCO CON EL COVER DE THE BEATLES "ELEANOR RIGBY" BUEN COVER CON SU TOQUE, ESTE SMOKE AND MIRRORS Y EL ORIGIN DE LOS JADE Y EL 1 DE LOS ALIEN, LO MEJOR QUE HA HECHO EL GRAN PETE SANDBERG, LARGA VIDA AL GRAN PETE SANDBERG. 10/10.

From: coverdale14 Date: October 30, 2007 at 13:49
POR CIERTO PARA AQUELLOS SEGUIDORES DEL GRAN PETE SANDBERG LES RECOMIENDO EL SOLISTA TITULADO PETE SANDBERG "PUSH", GRAN TRABAJO DE PURO HARD ROCK QUE CUENTA CON EL GRAN SVEN CIRNSKI A CARGO DE TODAS LAS GUITARRAS. UNA VEZ MAS LARGA VIDA A SANDBERG-CIRNSKI.

From: KickYourFace Date: January 24, 2009 at 12:24
I looked into this album because I found out BAD HABIT guitarist Sven Cirnski played on it. I was surprised on the quality of the sound. Some good songs with a great production. My only complaint is there are too many mediocre ballads. Songs 01, 02, 04, 08, & 10 are "keepers", rest are "fillers" IMO. 55% Rating.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 8, 2013 at 19:16
A simple album in my book...some good songs in the shape of "Worlds Apart","Runnin' On Empty","Teaser,Pleaser" & "Stone Cold"...Pete Sandberg is a very nice vocalist rather than a extremelly skilled one IMO...anyway is worth checking his solo releases because probably you'll like them more than this one...still it gets a good rate,80/100

From: titothetitan Date: July 9, 2023 at 16:08
It's just a standard AOR album, just like the hundreds ones we've listened before. None of the songs is outstanding. 'Worlds Apart' is an okay opening song, and there's one maybe two ballads with nice keyoards, and that's it. The Beatles cover is totally pointless.
