To me, this cd has a Progressive/AOR feel to it. Kind of like Snakes In Paraside's "Dangerous Love" cd. They are very good song writer's but they are just lacking something. I think I'm just not to keen on the Progressive rock sound. |
From: Ardian | Date: April 2, 2003 at 13:54 |
Great CD, although it took me few listens to appreciate the whole thing. The Germany version has four bonus tracks (Second Chance, Although We're Fools, If You Need Me, Standing In The Corner For You -Acoustic Version) meanwhile the Japanese version has two bonus tracks (Second Chance, I Can Almost Taste It), in case you didn't know. Second Chance is a dead ringer of their best tune.... Dying For Love! Check it out... |

My only complaint...I hate the guitar sound on this, but everything else is so good I can overlook that. Good overall sound, and the songwriting is smokin', tons of hooks. |

This is one of the finest melodic rock cds of the 90's. Awesome songs, great sound (Sorry blue) all topped off with Jean's awesome vocals. Excellent |

This albums goes closer back to the sound of the debut. Not as consistent as that one, but Jean knows how to write some great hooks, such as "Motorcycle Loretta" and "Live And Die". 7/10 |

"Live And Die" has to be one of the greatest heavy AOR tracks ever.Totally awesome !! Worth the price just for this track. |

Quality album. |

As Ardian states above, there is a version with more tracks, and that's the one worth tracking down because a few of the gems are left off this one. 'Cold blooded bitch' is a good one here, and overall this is back to some form. Good melodic rock disc. |
From: Axe-Machine | Date: May 7, 2006 at 10:23 |
Poor album. This does nothing but prove that Crown Of Thorns without both Beavior and Micki Free are nothing. The only good tracks on show are the title track and 'Cold Blooded Bitch', which sounds remarkably like 'House Of Love' from the debut album. Unless you see this on the cheap, I can think of loads of albums which deserve your hard earned dollars. |
From: Rockhead | Date: May 7, 2006 at 13:03 |
Have to disagree 100% with Axe Machine-This cd rocks!!!! Second best to the almighty debut. Live and Die, Motorcycle Loretta, the title track etc etc there is little to no fillwer here. |

Beste CD von Jean & Co ! Was ne Hammerscheibe ! Hier gibts nur Hits. Meine Faves sind Wasted Prime,Lost Cathedral & Live and let die ! buy or die ! 9,5/10 |

If the debut is the king of this band's discography, then this is the queen, easily their 2nd best CD. The hooks come quick & often and most of the choruses pack a catchy punch. There's a few thorns amidst the roses, but not enough to seriously impact the CD's quality. You could lose yourself in the lush production; matter of fact, this is so good, you may want to run to the nearest church, kneel in the cathedral, and thank God for bringing such a cool melodic hard rock release into your life. |
