The vocals, playing and songwriting on this album are pretty impressive. Jean Beaviour has a unique voice with range when he needs it. Great cover of 'Don't Let Me Down' would do the Fab Four proud. 8.5/10.

Just a bit of advice for you out there! Don't let this CD pass you by without having a listen to it. Simply put.....PURE CLASS...... The Beatles cover is up there with the best!!!!!!!! A.O.R / MELODIC ROCK at it's best!!!!!!!!!

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 0:00
How could Crown Of Thorns top their debut? Well, you just can't top perfection and they don't really try on this one. This one has more of a Beatles and modern rock influence, but still produces good tracks like "Over My Head". 7/10

To be honest, didn't like it at all. I always found a few gems on COT discs, but couldn't find any here. Very average hard rock. Disappointing.

Also diese CD ist erste Sahne ! OK,hier wird nicht so abgerockt, wie auf den anderen Alben, aber hier bekommt man Ohrwürmer und Emotionen geboten.Ich sag nur Writings on the wall ! Genial ! 9/10

From: metalmaniac777 Date: December 29, 2006 at 20:01
This band is rated by some as one of the crown jewels of the melodic HR scene, but judging by this CD, you'd have no idea why. As with all COT's albums, this isn't bad, it's just not that good either, and doesn't come close to the much more masterful levels of their debut. The only song that somewhat stands out is "He's a Fool," and even that barely qualifies as one rose among many lackluster thorns. Not bad enough to make you want to snap the disc in half, but still nothing all that special.

This one was mediocre for me,now it sounds decent. Some good tune(especially the ballads)and nothin'more.7,5/10.P.S.Ahaha where is genial this cd?

From: jan_vexel Date: September 30, 2008 at 16:43
was pretty dissapointed when first listened it,worst follow up ever.now i like it better, espacially the ballads as stated above.totaly different style(more modern),don't await the melodic style of the debut, but if you like ballads, give it a try...

From: edwithmj Date: December 27, 2008 at 19:18
Brilliant album. Definitely a bit more modern than the firs one but after a few listens you will quickly discover that this is their finest release. Every song has such amazing power. 90/100

From: hair metal again Date: October 18, 2009 at 12:42
this is a very good one by crown of thorns.not so good as the debut but it wont disappoint you.high quality in songwriting and the sound feels so good.my favs are"only one who s lonely"," you","down to the river".what is missing from this release is anthemic songs that there where plenty on the previous one.good release
