One of my early 90's metal favorites. Got to see them in Lincoln Nebraska and their live show ruled!

Hi! I was the lead singer from Brass Kitten. We toured non-stop from '89-'93 from Canada to Key West, FL and enjoyed every show! After EZ-N-Pretty, in '92 we recorded our 2nd CD. Due to an accident that involved one of the band members, the CD was never released and the band broke up. Over the years, I've received many emails about the 2nd CD, "Across America". I'm happy to say, it will now be released August 2001 on Nightmare Records. Hope you enjoy!!! BrassKitten01@Hotmail.com

EZ N'Pretty is a must for your collection. All the songs rock, but my favorite is "Pain of a Broken Heart". Steve sure is able to hit those high notes.

Hey , I was the bass player and toured until '91 and it pretty muched ruled. I left to go back to get my BA degree and still have people ask me about the CD's. I found a bunch of our original CD's (EZ-N-Pretty) and sell them at www.brasskitten.com. And an FYI, Steve and I are planning a 2 city Brass Kitten reunion gig in early 2002. All members that performed on the recordings will be playing. So bring out the Jose Curevo. For more info email me at kiar@kiardesigns.com

Just Killer! Kind of like a mix of Steelheart and Skid Row, no joke. Now if you dig these other bands that I mentioned, which I do, there is a chance youll treat this release by Brass Kitten like GOLD. It was that impressive to me. Steve Philbrook's lead vocals were awesome, and with good songs and killer guitar riffs, this album makes for a true lost classic of 1990. Check out songs 8 and 10, as well as the ones leading up to them. 1-5 are great too, like i said the whole album rules, 10+

If these guys get out in the venure again, a must see. If grunge never took out metal in the 90's, this band would have been on top!! Incedible talent all around. 10 years later new album of songs cut in 91 shows metal didn't die with everyone. See ya soon guys! One can hope!

I've had this cassette for years. I wasn't too much into it when I first got it, but I've had it out recently and I love it. Trying to find the cd now. The cassette is starting to annoy me. Great 80's hair band sound. Tracks 2,3,5,and 10 are my Faves with Big Fat Blonde being a very funny tune.

Wow! Brass Kitten. I went to high school with the singer (Steve Philbrook). Although we didn't know each other, we had a few of the same friends. If you look inside the sleeve at the thank you list, I know Brian Glodek & Mike Chaput. When I was a roadie for B. Glodek's band (G.B. Leighton) I saw Steve at one of our shows. Steve & M. Chaput owned a company together, running sound for local bands back in '95. That was the only time I ever talked to Steve. He told me how touring B.K. was great.

I got to see Brass Kitten live and they were a great show. I think they could have been a bigger band, but time ran out and in came grunge. Steve had a hell of a voice. He could do "Steelheart" NO PROBLEM! He told me a story about opening for the Sleeze Beez. I remember Steve saying how the lead singer (Andrew Elt) was legally deft (or something like that)?

Hey Jason, Are you from the Minnesota area by any chance? G.B. Leighton and Brass Kitten used to play up here all the time. Well....G.B. Leighton still does.

This one should have been left in the crock pot for a few more hours. It is in need of some originality and a complete vocal makeover. I'm sorry, but this singer is doing his best Vince Neil meets Mark Slaughter meets somebody I never want to listen to again. I bet they tore up the Minneapolis scene (I wouldn't know, I was a book learnin). I should be more patient with these indie "gems". Anybody suggest a really good lost klassic? Steelheart/Love-Hate/Lillian Messiah Roxy Bones? I'm open.

For those missing Brass Kitten, original members Kiar Olsen and guitarist Johnny play locally in the Green Bay in a band called "Ugly Stick" and they rock. Kiar sounds as good as ever. Kind of frightening that anyone with testicles can hit the notes he hits, but he hits them just fine. If you get a chance to see them you should, however, get there early because it gets packed quick. Nothing worse than going t6o the show only to see the back of someone else's head.

WHEN WE FIRST SAW THESE GUYS PLAYING AT THE IRON HORSE WE KNEW WE'D KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE! IT WAS 2 YEARS OF PURE METAL BLISS FOR US - WE DROVE OVER 100 MILES ONE WAY TO SEE THEM EVERY CHANCE, EVERY PLACE WE COULD. A REUNION WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT! BOTH OF THEIR CD'S RANK RIGHT UP THERE! MISS YOU GUYS!

I was 17 when I seen Brass Kitten. It was at Motel called the Sleeping Giant in T. Bay Ontario. My sister bought their Ez N' Pretty and I absolutely loved their music. I seen them again a year later and this time I went by myself. I was having the time of my life but the crowd sucked. Steve called the crowd " a bunch of dead beats" and I agreed with him. I was very angry and I stood up told the whole bar that they were a bunch of dead beats! Sid, Johnny and Kellie gave me their autographs.

This is a pretty damn good hard rock disc, but like Trick above I am not a fan of the vocals at all. In this particular case I can overlook them as this is a good solid collection of hard rock... but better vocals would have made this great.

Pretty good release. Kinda sounded like a cross between DOKKEN & WARRANT. Nice hooks, catchy stuff - very very good. I'd be interested to hear their 2nd release. 8.5 out of 10.

Killer hard Rock from Brass Kitten. They remind me of early Dokken, Warrant, Danger Danger, Trixie. Great songs and a must in anyone's collection. Their other CD Across America is even better. Hey Steve, what about another CD of rarities, unreleased and live material!!!???? Give me a shout jsokoloski7@hotmail.com Rated 9.5/10.

Some rare indie gems sound good as gold; these guys are more like, uh, brass. Don't misunderstand, there's lots of hook-heavy hair-metal here to get your hard rock motor purring like a well-stroked pussycat, but originality isn't a strong point by any stretch of the imagination. The band is content to take it easy, rarely reaching beyond the obvious hook, the basic chorus. But what they do, they do well. These guys know their ABCs of hair metal, but they never graduate to the next level.

This is one of those albums that comes as a pleasant surprise. Everything seems to fit together. Good songs, good hooks & melodies. Overall, not much to complain about.

La pinta es lo de menos pero el disco en sí es un muy buen HR con sus buenas melodias. La 2º parte del album me gusta mucho más. Cierto, la voz para mí no da la suficiente talla a los temas. "Lies" "Pain of a Broken Heart" y "Only One" mis favoritas. Buen solo y buenos coros al final del tema "E-Z N'Pretty" y la semi-balada "Don't Ask Me Why" muy buena junto a "I've Got this Feeling" buen final. El album en sí va de menos a mas. Recomendado. 8.5/10

un Hard Rock regularon algo flojito con tan solo algunos temas que sobre salen del Disco como lo es "Only One & Waiting" para mi estas canciones tienen el toque que lo hace especial y no como las otras canciones muy desabridas...6/10

This is one of those bands you really wonder why they were never huge. The songs are ten times better than any of that other warrant, trixter type of crap that was coming out at the time. This is one of the very few latter day glam bands that I actually liked. Great stuff that will have you singing along for weeks

I was really surprised when i listened to this band...the production is average but that doesn't pale the quality of the songs that were backed up by a good vocalist in the shape of Steve Philbrook ...the whole album is delightful in at least a 90% of its contest..."Waiting" for me is the best cut of the album followed by "On The Run","Sweet Sister Suite","One Life To Live"(AORish),"E-Z N' Pretty"(rocks!),"Don't Ask Me Why"(good solid ballad) & "Lies"(rocks!)...recommended...86/100

This CD sounds like Don Dokken fronting Warrant. It's a little silly sometimes but overall it kicks a ton of ass.
