Pure rock'n roll... best hard rock since Alice Cooper and Man Behind The Mask...

Get it if u still can...

From: Jennifer Date: April 25, 2001 at 13:00
Good CD and good live act-saw him play with Cooper and on tour as a solo act. Above average.

From: Nelson Date: July 28, 2001 at 9:51
A classic melodic rock effort from Alice Cooper's famed muscle bound guitarist.I remember meeting both of them during the "raise your fist & yell" tour.I also recall the first time i found this c.d.,after years of scouring every pawn shop.Definitely worth the wait.Songs like "twisted","i'm not lookin' for an angel","does anybody really fall in love anymore?",which is my wife's cherishing love song,& "rebel heart",my emotionally charged love anthem.A must have,in every rock & roller's collection.

From: T-BONE Date: August 11, 2001 at 9:36
More laid back than the first cd, but still a killer! Awesome vocals and guitars again. Who did the song "Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore" first? Cher or Kane? Also Bon Jovi recorded it, but never released it. Anyway...It's worth getting. If you can't find it, go on eBay...that's where I got mine. It's worth the hassle and wait. Also check out Kane's other band Phoenix Down (also listed in Heavyharmonies.com) That cd is even rarer, but worth looking for.

This CD flat out rocks. It has everything you need in a melodic hard rock record.

Fighter is one of the 10 best songs in whole world!!! It's a party anthem that makes you wish to be in LA or Tokyo!

From: koogles Date: January 13, 2002 at 7:08
When I bought this CD, the cashier gave me a seatbelt and told me I'd need it! I still got whiplash even with it on! That's how hard this CD rocks. Full-force, in your face Winger/Jesse Strange/Paul Laine style AOR with some of the BIGGEST production these ears have ever heard! Definitely a MUST for anyone who loves wall-of-sound, headrush-inducing hard rock.

From: Kim Date: June 9, 2002 at 2:14
Used to think this was a bad release, but reading the comments, made me listen to it again. Its really good, and has now been in my CD player for a week. Great stuff.

Goddamn, I remember this! "Twisted" and "Does Anybody Really Fall in Love Anymore?" Got a good amount of airplay on the old 96 Rock in Ocean City, MD. That dude could sing his ASS off, couldn't he? Man, I used to love both of them songs! "Twis-ted! Twisted over you!"

From: Blue Tequila Date: April 8, 2003 at 5:12
Just picked this one up in ye olde pawn shop and the above posts werent lying--this thing is great! I never was a huge Alice Cooper fan so didn't know Roberts played guitar on a couple of his albums (geez I even OWN Constrictor!!) To me this album sounds like a mix of Bon Jovi and Winger (Kip played on the same Alice Cooper albums - though he is listed as "Kip Wringer" in the Constrictor insert). Anyway this was a great find. Great production from Desmond Child--who else has he worked with?

From: Rene Date: April 25, 2003 at 14:07
One of the best albumes from 1991.

From: Kryiis Karl Date: May 4, 2003 at 13:53
Maybe I should ask a friend of mine to play it again more than 10 years after because ... no, he must have thrown it in the dustbin long ago... Exagerating just because everybody here seem real enthousiastic about this piece which is really nothing exceptionnal at all... not interesting in any way to me.

From: wadelink Date: May 19, 2003 at 2:08
THIS IS A LOT BETTER THAN A FEW ALICE COOPER ALBUMS I COULD METION. THERE ARE KICK ASS TUNES HERE. I GIVE IT A 7/10 EASY. I BOUGHT THIS AT WALMART FOR $7.00 A GREAT DEAL!

From: Scandinavia Date: June 8, 2003 at 12:29
Fucking amazing! Really underrated album...Top-professional. You may think it's too commercial but if you let yourself take a listen you'll realize this is a really solid piece of Rock history.

Great kick ass cd."Fighter" is one of the best song in the music history, "Does anybody" the best powerballad. The rest stand near to them.I don't understand people who don't appreciate this album.Great vocals, great guitars, powerfull rhythmic section....it's unbelieveble that two of my favourite songs(Fighter,Playing with fire) record one person Myron Grombacher.

From: RR-Finland Date: August 28, 2003 at 17:23
I´m really suprised how much people of here likes this album!! This is best Kane release no doubt. I bought this one in ´95 and it has been one of my favourite albums since then. And of course you don´t have skip any track over. If you don´t own this one: "You always want it, when you can have it"

From: TIM Date: August 28, 2003 at 17:31
Very average IMO. Not horrible but nothing fantastic.

From: CC Date: October 20, 2003 at 21:48
One of my favourite albums ever! Fucking great vocals, guitar & song writing! Kanes version of "Does anybody really fall in love anymore" walks all over the Cher version & even blows the Bon Jovi version out of the water! I just love that during the early to mid 90s you could find this CD in so many bargain bins yet now its a pricey rarity!

From: John Date: October 21, 2003 at 15:39
Throw away that cheesy Bon Jovi ballad and this is the perfect hard rock record from me. There's no less than 7 kickass examples of why we fell in love with this kind of music in the first place. That guitar sound he gets at the beginning of 'Twisted' is perfection. 9/10.

Kane Roberts is the man! This is such a good album. I had heard of Kane but never actually heard his music. Boy was I being deprived. If you like melodic 80s metal then find this CD! Very catchy choruses, good keyboard sound, and killer guitar work. One of the best from that whole genre that I've heard in a long time.

From: Alejandro Date: February 5, 2004 at 11:29

From: Gar Date: March 3, 2004 at 15:18
Just got this last weekend at a tent sale in a cd store's parking lot. Wasn't expecting to find much, but I did find this gem for only a dollar! Good solid songs, slick(but not overdone) production. Definitely one of the best albums Desmond Child had a hand in. Seems to me that some of the best albums came out in either '90 or '91. You can add this to the list.

From: run2u Date: April 1, 2004 at 20:29

By fas the best Hard Rock album of all-times! I have about 500 album and that's probably the one that has been used the most. Every song is a classic, catchy hard rock anthems. Kane has an extraordinaire guitar touch and voice, this guy has so much talent, a real shame he didn't released more album than 2 solo albums (3 if you count the Phoenix Down one). Well, get it now if you don't already got it!!

From: jeff Date: June 7, 2004 at 16:28
i bought the tape when it first came out . wore it right out.

From: TIM (2) Date: June 8, 2004 at 4:28
Hard-rock by numbers. These are Dianne Warren/Desmond Child tunes and are all very samey, and the vocals are pretty weak. The songs are good, but check out Child's own "Discipline" or Robin Beck's "Trouble Or Nothin" for how to stamp your own passion into such formulaic tunes.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 14, 2004 at 17:58
If you want an album that sounds like Desmond Child penned Bon Jovi tunes, then this is it. While the songs are excellent, especially "Twisted" and "Rebel Heart", the rockers all follow the same formula making this an album that is better in small doses than listening to all the way through. 8/10

From: Date: August 23, 2004 at 8:55
I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E. No more words needed.

From: Geoff Date: August 23, 2004 at 9:05
I personally feel a few more words are needed, like Perfect, flawless, monster melodic hard rock release with 10 killer songs. I got this for $2, expected nothing and now own one of the most played and most loved melodic hard rock CDs in my collection. I don't know what to say my favourites are, but 'It's only over for you', 'Fighter', 'Dance little sister'... and 'Too far gone; and 'Rebel heart'. Clearly the perfect melodic hard rock album. 9.9/10

From: Kip Date: August 29, 2004 at 16:27
I also bought this one for basicaly lunch money expecting 1 good song maybe two. What I got is a CD that easily places in my top 10 of about 1000. The production is flawless, and the layers of sound from the guitars, keyboards, and background vocals overlapping in infectious, melodic, fist pumping, upbeat, in your face, choruses with supberp lyrics with help from people like Bon Jovi, Cher and Desmond Child, this album has it all. Tracks 1,2,3, 5, 7, 9 and 10 are pure heaven. 10/10

From: Carmine Rose Date: October 9, 2004 at 10:41
I've heard "Twisted" a lot on XM's The Boneyard. Is the rest of the album worth checking out?

From: T-Bone Date: October 9, 2004 at 11:14

It´s only over for you”.Muybueno!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 15, 2005 at 20:44
Really a Good Melodic Hard-Rock/AOR album, un muy buen disco por momentos Rock y Hard Melodico y otros mas AOR, que mas agregar sobre lo comentado arriba salvo algunos que no tienen buen gusto y me reservo comentarios, en cortes Fighter(mi favorita, eso por ser una cancion hecha para mi), Does Anybody Really(que gran balada a medio tiempo), Too Far gone, Rebel Heart, It`s Only Over For You hacen un gran album, sin duda un Imprescindible en toda coleccion de AOR y Rock Melodico.

From: meradona Date: July 9, 2005 at 9:25

From: Joshy St. Jaimz Date: October 15, 2005 at 6:50
Where do I begin with this one? Maybe....absolute PERFECTION!! One of my all time favs, and one of the most under-rated hard rock/AOR gems around. With his first album Kane showed us what he was capable of, but it is with this disc that he really puts those talents into overdrive. Desmond Child is on board as co-writer and producer and it shows, with those classic, 'Bon Jovi' style big-chant choruses that we all love. 'Wild Nights', 'Fighter', 'Twisted', 'Dance Little Sister', 'Rebel Heart'....

From: Joshy St. Jaimz Date: October 15, 2005 at 6:52
.....the huge ballad 'Does Anybody Really Fall in Love Anymore' ---Heck, the entire album is easily 10/10, no filler here folks. One listen is never enough. I need more albums like this!!!

From: HaremScarem Date: February 8, 2006 at 6:57
Hard Rock melódico de altos vuelos.

From: Lennie Date: February 10, 2006 at 8:13
Now I love this album. This in my opinion encompasses everything I love about this genre. Fist pumping choruses, great guitar solos, perfect ballads, big ballsy production. The influence of some of the contributors on the album can be clearly heard throughout. BJ/Kinger comparisons are pretty close. This is just a great listen from beginning to end and highly recommended.

From: juan carlos Date: April 16, 2006 at 16:42

From: kipvanpearcy Date: May 10, 2006 at 16:31
Wow, I totally missed this one when it came out. After reading all the positive comments on this site, I decided to do me a favor and buy it for a reasonable price. I must say that I do no regret my purchase one for a second! This is absolutely excellent! Although I'm not a huge fan of Kane's very bland voice, I must say the songs are almost all excellent and will bring you back in the 80's immediately! A must have.

From: Butchwalkerulz Date: August 5, 2006 at 19:04

For me (England) I dont get what the big thing is? heard loads better the vocal's on Fighter are that strange pitchy affair up until the chours. I always say this about the vocals I HATE PITCHY VOCAL's!!! listern to people who can sing like David Coverdale, Johnny G, Jeff Soto, Rick Hughes and so on. He didnt break into the big time coz it's not that good only people who are tunned into this kind of music will like it...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: rockhardrock Date: April 10, 2009 at 17:12
i must admit i didn't expect so great work from Kane, so when i heard this album i found it very melodic and catchy. allmost all the songs here are great, the best for me are: Wild Nights, Twisted, Dance Little Sister, Rebel Heart (the best on this album) and Fighter. Do yourself a favour and listen what Kane created after he left Alice.

From: WookieEnthal Date: July 11, 2009 at 23:19

You know, it's weird. I thought "Twisted" was a thoroughly kick-ass song when it came out. But I never bought the album, and then fifteen or so years went by before I heard that song again ... and it did nothing for me.

IMO Twisted was worst possible pick for single...still its good song but virtually every other one is better...for example Fighter could be HUUUGEE single, same as Wild Nights, Too Far Gone, It's Only Over or Rebel Heart...with those singles Kane would have career till now (few more regular albums etc)...

From: Distance Date: November 23, 2009 at 16:04
One of the Best melodic rock albums of the late 80s early 90s, huge production and guitars.. This really is a solid record i bought it in 91 when i was 19, it still gets regular play today.!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: July 28, 2010 at 22:59
With a more commercial approach, the big Kane Roberts delivered this hell of an album!!!..great songs and a must have by all means!..."Wild Night" give me a break! way too cool!,"Twisted" apart from being,i think, his most successful song,is also a killer ballad!,love it!,"Does Anybody..." is another fave along with Twisted,"Dance Little Sister" rocks,"You Always Want It" is excellent,"Fighter" catchy,"Too Far Gone" woww, excellent too!...the former Alice Cooper axeman did not release anymore albums after this one as far as i know so for that i highly recommend both ones eyes closed!.95/100

From: metalmaniac777 Date: April 20, 2011 at 11:45
Even if I had to be horse-whipped and cattle-prodded like a bad dog before I could listen to this CD, it would so be worth the pain. This is an awesome, near-flawless melodic hard rock masterpiece that rates as one of the all-time greats. The hooks are huge, towering so high they probably hit their head on Heaven's bottom floor, and the monster choruses are good enough to make angels weep. And the backing vocals...holy cow, they just don't get any bigger than this. It should be an unpardonable sin for any commercial hard rock fan not to have this in their collection.

From: the rocker Date: January 27, 2012 at 19:49
I can't believe that I have not commented on this yet! Another one of my favorites, All songs are very good(song writing help by Desmond Childs). My Favorites are Reabel Heart, Too Far Gone, Wild Nights, Twisted, It's Only Over For You & Dance Little Sister. I highly recommend.

Sorry but I can't/don't want to be objective because this is one of my most favourite albums ever. For sure in my top 10. Of course, someone could object something like that KR isn't an extraordinary singer or the record is too obtrusive but for this case I'm not interested in anything. This is for me absolute top arena hard rock with multi-catchy choruses... and the production and mixing are fantastic putting its eye on each detail. I completely agree with koogles. This album is like a barrel full of gun powder ready to explode. I always feel a lot of energy and emotions here. IMO - similar to Alice Cooper's "Trash" or Bonfire's "Point Blank" but better. TOP. 100/100.

Great cd. In fact I just bought my third copy of it last week as I lost my 2nd one when I moved...definitely has the Desmond Child stamp on it but with Kane's heavy guitar sound...it just plain rocks and has those killer catchy choruses to boot....If you've ever like Alice's TRASH cd or older Bon Jovi but wished that the songs were more agressive and heavier...this is for you!

This dude, who looks like a roid rager gym junkie, sure made one of the best albums of the genre. It's got the hooks galore, the anthemic choruses, the hard rock guitar, even the excellent ballad in "Does Anyone Really Fall in Love Anymore". It's a pure ear worm that you can't forget. This is an essential disc for a hard rock collection.
