This is a very good glam hard rock album. I bought the big vinyl a year ago for a cheap price and I really loved it. You can't go wrong with anthems like Lonely nights and Like I want. They can remind Britny Fox(Bite down hard era). Does anybody knows a glam german band called HELTER SKELTER? They made an incredible video around 1991, called DR. Jackyl. I know they have something to do with Vamp, I try to found somethin' about them since 1991 till now, but nobody knows.

About HELTER SKELTER. I have one Ep of the band, from 1988 "Dr.Jekyll and mr.Hyde" of course on vinyl. They came from Germany and the ep came out on the NOISE RECORDS label. Also they released one lp but i dont have that one. They looked great, but there music was nothing special.

Do not buy the CD for 30.00 that is a rip off!!! There are enough auctions who would sell for less. I used to hang out woth Vamp and I just love their "Rich don't Rock" CD!

So many fillers, but I still find myself really digging this album. The first track is a killer opener - done as good as they could have done, 'Love games' is great commercial hard rock, as is 'Lonely nights' and 'Stand by me' - both melodic gems and I believe I also quite liked 'Why'. Overall, the rest is pretty cool. Whilst I will not deny the fact that there are a lot of fillers, I still think it's a cool CD and well worth a decent price. Good stuff and some genuine killer tracks!

Hi Dudes! Concerning Tom Bellini (singer of Vamp): this US-hotshot ex-ed my girlfriend back in 89 after their gig in Munich! Still heīs a good singer. Concerning Helter Skelter: yes, they used to be called `Vampī before they changed to HS; Angel Schleifer (ex-Pretty Maids,Sinner, now with Sabu)played in that 5 piece outfit from Munich. Their she-manager also promoted the band shown here when they were recording the album and looking for a name - got it?

This is just a very very good album with great songs. Pure melodic US hard rock even if the band came from Germany(something i didnt know till today). I have it on vinyl and i always told they were from the U.s. MELODIC HARD ROCK WITH BALLS AND ATTITUDE(very important in the 80s of course)

Just got this and I have to say I was disappointed after hearing it. The band's sound is like a combination of Helix and Europe which is an interesting but cool mix. However, there just aren't any stand out tracks. The music is good but not memorable and IMO not worth the price it's going for on eBay.

Geoff hits the nail. Brilliant tracks beneath some fillers. Not to mention, the singer has a unique, cool voice. Sharp and a touch of roughness!

If you like late 80's - early 90's German melodic bands such as Pink Cream 69,Vice,Fair Warning and Casanova,it's worth while owning a copy in your collection.

Pretty good late 80's glam rock. Pretty solid all the way around and pretty good production. Tracks 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 stand out for me. With "Love Games" being my favorite; Love Games, it's only gonna bring you down, only gonna make ya lonely" - so true. They have some nice catchy hard rock with some keys but this one is mainly just straight forward hard rock with a little balls. 78/100; almost made 80/100 but not quite. The singer is good but if he was a little better it would get a higher rating.

Love Games is a good song. Not much else on this album did it for me but it's worth checking out as it has good production and features some pretty good heavy melodic hard rock.

whenever German bands crossed the Atlantic ,the result was pretty good!VAMP is no exception and with the help of Tony Platt they release some straight hard rock musicwith huge riffs and anthemicdirection.i d prefer a more commercial approach overall but the result is ok and you will surely enjoy the power and the energy of it!"heart break, heartache","the rich don t rock" and "renegade" are the highlights and i would love to hear a 2nd from these guys!

German band that wanted to sound L.A a hundred percent and it quite did ...there's a recent double CD deluxe edition of this album with tons of demos and different versions of some of the songs of the album...the best shot for me is the one that closes the release named "Why" plus these other fine moments in tracks such as "All Nite"(rocks!),"Lonely Nights"(the AORish one)& "Talk Is Cheap"(rocks!)...enjoyable is the least you can say about this record....85/100

Everything about this band was exceptional, and I'm not sure how anyone on this website would have any issues with what was on display here. This was arena-worthy material as were their Demos (both as ROXX & VAMP). Dicki Fliszar left the band to tour with Bruce Dicknson in 1990 which caused them to play with Shawn Szoke while they were in the States. They would begin recording sessions for their intended follow up album to be titled, "One Smack Killer" which unfortunately never saw the light of day (the Demos from those sessions on the recent reissue were also fantastic).A couple of members would remain in the States while the others returned back home to Rheinkulter, Germany. Every song here had big choruses, catchy hooks, & stellar vocals in the realms of BONFIRE, QUIET RIOT, AUTOGRAPH, ICON, & HELIX. Their label (Atlantic) wanted to steer them in a heavier direction which I think also benefitted their sound. You can't ask for any more than this in the Hair Metal world.

Actually, I'm fairly certain that it wasn't the 1986 ROXX Demo that was included on the recent reissues. I believe the Demos that were included with the 2CD package were also from 1986 under the VAMP moniker with their new vocalist Tom Bellini. I'm fairly certain that the ROXX Demo from 86' had a different singer & they then auditioned a few more (according to liner notes), so there's likely incorrect information out there indicating that the ROXX Demo was included on the reissue.
