This CD requires a few more listens than Eat 'Em And Smile and Skyscraper to fully appreciate. The musicianship is excellent...Dave will never have it any other way. Best Tracks(in order): 1. A Little Ain't Enough 2. Baby's On Fire 3. Lady Luck 4. Tell The Truth Rating: 7.0

Some half-decent stuff on it but, sadly, it's the first Roth album that you don't really need to own!!

this is one of the most cherished albums i have! i LOVE it. such groovy rock'n'roll and BLUES written all over it. he is having so much fun, you can't be mad for not getting Van Halen out of it. a great original, one of the best strays away from the standard repetoire ever!

You are right Jens, this album may not be one of the best albums of all time, but it maybe a little underated. There is some really good stuff on here. Lets not forget this one!

This does take some warming uo to, but it has its share of fun rockers in the classic DLR vein. The first three tracks are particularly strong. Track 11 sounds like a knock-off of Hot for Teacher. All in all, this album is a 100 times better than that '98 DLR Band mess.

Great CD! Unlike some of the reviews here, I loved this album instantly. I was a HS junior when it came out, and I couldn't take it out of my walkman. My fave of 1991.

One more great album from Dave. The sound is a little bit different from "Eat'Em And Smile" or "Skyscraper". But again it's full of party rock'n'roll. Esp. "Hammerhead Shark" is a great fun (also "Sensible Shoes"). Dave's giggly voice again makes this album a good summer beach party stuff...

This album contains the BEST guitar solo ever in "Showtime". Jason Becker at his best (God bless him). Simply an awesome, awesome song.

The first track is excellent, sounding like David Lee Roth if he sang for Foreigner or Bon Jovi. While the rest of the album is harder rocking, it also slips in a little bit of the quality. Still, it is worth the cheap price that it can be had for. 7/10

This one is killer if just for Jason Becker's intense guitar skills. If only he wouldn't have been stopped after this, who knows what he could've accomplished?

Otro buen álbum que,por diversos motivos,no funciona igual de bien que los anteriores.Es menos comercial,requiere más escuchas,y aunque los músicos son excelentes(Jason Becker en la solista),le falta ese "algo"que tienen los anteriores.En cualquier caso,hard rock americano con momentos explosivos y originales(los primeros temas),y con sabor bluesero en otros como Sensible Shoes.Y tenemos otro Shyboy en "Its showtime!".Merece la pena darle una oída,y además está barato.6'5/10 run2u69@hotmail.com

A perfect album. For me it`s his best Reocord. The sound and the songs are so amazing. This is the perfect album for the summertime. I love this stadiumrock.

With a different line-up (conserving only the 2 Bissonette brothers and including the amazing Jason Becker on guitar)Diamond Dave recorded this album that does not have the power of "Eat..."and "Skyscraper" but is not a bad album either even though the only song that i really like was and is "Baby's On Fire".A little weak on its production maybe can be considered the result of the poor acceptance of this album.Anyway life's a bitch but we love it!.7/10

It's SHOWTIME! The party with Dave continues on this good album. The only problem with this album is that there are only a few great songs. A Lil' Ain't Enough, It's Showtime (Hot For Teacher part II :P), Sensible Shoes, Shoot It and for me that's about it. The whole album is nice to listen, just won't get stuck in your head. But we can remember this release as the last good album. I think Dave was crushed the most with the fact that happier melodies are excluded from the media. He cannot find himself since then...

I picked this up for $1 the other day. When he's "rock Dave" and less "vegas Dave" is when he is best, IMO. Title track flat out rocks, the rest of the songs not so much. The guitar playing though is tremendous.

Dave did well getting a line-up almost as strong as the successful Vai/Sheenan releases, and although this one charges outta the starting gates with the magnificent title track, a little really wasn't enough to capture the same quality of those earlier records. And the line-up really were capable it's simply the material that lets this album down too often, Dave choosing too often to venture back to those lounge-act shenanigans when things shoulda continued to rock. While no-one expected anything less than a good time considering this was released as the onslaught of grunge hit, perhaps too much partying ain't such a good thing!? Although I must add it's worthwhile checking out the absolute quality that is TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH! Borderline masterpiece, the tracks the perfect late night cruiser and quite magnificent, kudos deserved for that one alone Rating 7

excellent release by Dave back in a year that was fantastic for hard rock genre!amazing production by Bob Rock,astonishing guitars by Jason Becker and many great songs included always in the unique DAVID LEE ROTH s way!in my book this one is a gem and overall his best release along with Skyscraper and i believe that it is essential!

The two singles from this album pretty well sum up its inconsistency. "A Li'l Ain't Enough" is the kick-ass, rock 'n' roll Dave that we know and love, just a good, hard-rockin' song. Then came 'Sensible Shoes,," another one of Dave's dumb, weirdo detours into ... well, I don't know what he's trying to do there. The rest of the album is just as erratic, just all over the place. Some people love that about Dave, others, me included, wish he'd quit farting around and just rock.

I've recently rediscovered this cd due to watching the new Jason Becker documentary and I've gotta admit that this has become my favorite Roth solo cd. What the first reviewer said is correct. This cd doesn't immediately hit over the head like Eat'em n Smile did but is still filled with killer songs and first rate shredding by Jason....Personal favorites are : A Lil Ain't Enough, It's Showtime, Drop In The Bucket and Baby's On Fire....GREAT stuff that should be revisited by all.

By the time this album came out DLR's slap-happy LA party shtick was considered old hat, so it got the stink-eye from critics and the emerging Grunge babies, and consequently sunk like a stone. Too bad, because aside from "Eat 'em and Smile," this for me is the quintessential DLR disc. The short-lived Roth/Becker team-up proves quite sonically effective: no goofball showtunes or forays into Country -- when the songs aren't straight-up rockin' ("Hammerhead Shark," "40 Below"), they're bumpin' like nobody's business ("Baby's On Fire," "Last Call"), with Rothian lyrical genius like, "Her hot pants started early and her t-shirt ended late" embodying all the flippant fun of old school Van Halen that drove the Alterna-whiners ape-shit bonkers. In short, it's DLR grinning in your face from start to finish. Occupies a top slot on my desert island list. 95 / 100

This album is great. I saw Dave on this tour and he put on one helluva show. Love that he mixed some blues into his sound on this one.
