A good disc. This is pretty reresentative of the sound that Doug and Kal had in their previous band, Lion, only with a harder edge. It's nothing new under the sun in terms of sound, but Doug's guitar work is awesome, and the songwriting is tight. Highly recommended!

Sparky ANYTHING that Kal and Doug does has to be good...while I think that Bad Moon Rising is VERY good their prior band I think was even better...LION....Im just glad they still are crankin out tunes...although close, I miss the EXACT sound they had with Lion...In this day and age with the crap being made I guess I shouldnt be picky...Quote The WidoMakr....never more

Holy Crap, Why didn't anyone tell me this was Kal Swan/Doug Aldrich? I just downloaded a few tunes the other day and I was thinking "Wow, cool guitar action, and the singer sounds just like the dude from Lion". This stuff rocks, although as WidoMakr points out, it aint Lion, but it's still kickin'!

BAD MOON RISING is so damn good, packing enough hard rocking power to propel you to Pluto and back, and enough amped-up energy to cause a corpse to jump up and start cranking away on the air-guitar. In true LION style, these guys deliver a bunch of fist-pumping, hook-driven anthems with the big chorus-big vocal approach adored by so many, myself included. A CD so good, it ranks as an absolute must-own for any melodic hard rocker.

Gotta say this one is top notch hard rock/metal with all the right angles but it wasnt a hit in 91. It had a commericial side to it but still no go. It had alot of the Lion influnce w/ a slight hair metal tinge to this and bam you have an awesome sonic debut cd by these guys.

a fantastic album. best songs are "old flames", "full moon fever" and "sunset after midnight". i own the very first japanese pressing including an extra booklet, mini-poster and an extra papercover. but the songs "one night in tokyo" and "alter ego" are not included on the japanese pressing- only on the english. buy this album if you find it somewhere.

EXCELLENT PIECE OF ART!!! Doug is truly a leader and not a follower. Very strong showing with excellent musicianship written all over it.

Another very good band, and if you like Lion you'll be best served to check this out. I still think Kal's vocals are strained, but his delivery is appealing and this is a very good, solid hard rocking disc. 'Old flames' is worthy of mention, being the sensational mid-tempo melodic gem it is. 'Wayward son' is exceptional too, as is the awesome 'One night in Tokyo'. Very good disc.

If you ever liked the band Lion, then this will be right up your alley, as it's core members are Kal and Doug from Lion. Just shy of being as good as "Dangerous Attraction" and better than "Trouble In Angel City". This one is the best in the BMR catalog. Jammed with killer guitar riffs, amazing vocals, and monster hooklines. This one is sure to please any fan of great guitar driven, melodic rock. If your on this site, this one is probably a safe bet. Very, very recomended!!!

Fans of Lion, Fifth Angel, Icon or Melidian can really enjoy this band, especially because its energy and guitar driven. What a great couple do Swan and Aldrich form! Both first and second releases are pretty good, the third one is more into modern/alternative rock. 8.5/10. Please, IF YOU KNOW any similar sounding band of the above listed including this one, TELL ME, please. my mail is dan.guitar.hero@gmail.com
