Excellent band from very close to my small home town. I've seen them on a few occasions and their music is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Jon Date: April 18, 2001 at 19:17
This cd has to be one of the best cd's I have ever had my hands on. The vocals are simply unreal and the music wildly writen. Bravo to the boys! This cd will definately be with me forever.

From: Craig Date: April 19, 2001 at 12:09
I've never heard of these guys before but I've never heard anyone like them. I am Canadian and now on a mission to find this cd... it rocks!

From: Gypsy Rose Fan Date: April 19, 2001 at 12:20
I've seen these guys live and I have all there songs downloaded from Napster but I would love nothing more then to own the cd. If anyone out there knows where I could find a copy or has one to sell please leave a message here for me

I am a good friend of the band's and I am trying for a reunion. It is looking extremely good. To show your support. Email me at thrd_wave@hotmail.com By the way this CD kicks some serious tail.

From: Richard Date: April 26, 2001 at 7:43
I've had this cd for atleast 10 years, I would have to say that it's still one of my favorites. If ever there would be a chance for a reunion tour I'd love to be there.

From: Kevin Date: April 27, 2001 at 9:35
'Love me or leave me' has got to be one of the best groove songs ever. If you can find this album (from Gene Simmons record label) buy it - if only for that one song. You won't be disappointed.

From: Brian Date: May 3, 2001 at 5:13
Hi, this is Brian Joyce one the guitar players from Gypsy Rose. A friend sent me this link. I am amazed that anybody remembers us. Thanks for the nice comments. I must admit I was a little nervous to see what people would say.

From: Christie Date: May 8, 2001 at 15:45
I own the cd and I would have to be my favorite. I still listen to it almost everyday. If you ever get a chance to get your hands on this very rare cd, buy it! You won't regret it. I would have to say my two favorite songs would be Wild Reaction and Make Me Do Anything You Want.

From: Magicmandala Date: June 2, 2001 at 10:45
They kick some serious ass and I've seen their album on ebay a few times for those looking for it, you could also try djangos.com

From: Patrick Edwards Date: June 22, 2001 at 17:05
I have loved this album for 11 years! Wild Reaction and Highway Oneway always get me fired up! Gypsy were great live and I would love to see them reunite! Hello to Brian and all the other Gypsy Rose guys! I hope you are all well and still rockin' away !!!

From: Lungs Date: July 17, 2001 at 19:18
Great band. I've owned the cd for many years and it's still one of my faves. Get the rock rollin' again boys.

From: Lefay Date: July 27, 2001 at 0:32
Gypsy Rose were one of the most underrated hard rock bands of the 80's!!

From: jon bon jovi Date: July 30, 2001 at 8:15
ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! it fuckin'rocks!!!!!!!!

From: wadelink Date: August 10, 2001 at 4:40
this band should have took the respect instead of poison cinderella and so on very under-rated this is a awesome group !!!!

From: Syngin Date: August 12, 2001 at 17:24
Considering the age of the cd, its great to see interest like this. These guys were from my hometown of Sarnia, Ontario.

From: ConnectionLess Date: August 14, 2001 at 12:44
Hey SYNGIN... I think you're the one I chatted with some days ago. Thank you for making me know this GREAT BAND !!! They kick some serious ass!!!They make you running, make you drive faster, make you never stop.. One of the best Hard Rock CDs ever. Best tracks are Poisoned By Love, Wild Reaction, Love Me Or Leave Me... GREAT !!!

From: carlos Date: August 24, 2001 at 14:37
these is a great band i had never heard of then before but they are awesome my favorite song is poison by love i blast these song full volume i hope i don't burn my speakers..

From: corey Date: September 28, 2001 at 23:35
i have heard they had a new cd in print but the grunge factor killed it.i am from gypsy roses home toen and they rocked. its sad to see all the members playing shit bars... but not together. mike ross has solo songs being played locally on sarnia's best rock ( yeah right) k106.3 they never heard of gypsy rose. here is a search engine sarnia lambton radio. it should get you to them. emai them and tell them to get with the times. perris records in texas might be able to get you copies of theri cd

From: TIM Date: October 9, 2001 at 22:55
GREAT BAND!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

From: koogles Date: January 1, 2002 at 15:55
Enough smoke and mirrors, guys. This CD is pretty mediocre when you get past the 'hometown' factor. Take into account the big hair, the open shirts and the fancy logo, and these guys blended in better than they stood out. It's a truth that the music can readily substantiate. Unless- correct me if I'm wrong- the line 'livin' on the edge' (from 'Borderline') adds up to something that hinges vaguely on 'the original'.

From: HG Date: February 17, 2002 at 15:17
Poisoned by Love is a great song, but the rest of the CD is pretty average.

From: Realism Date: March 9, 2002 at 15:51
The album got the respect it deserved. Mike and the boys were always JBJ wannabees who rode the relatively white trasish Sarnia teen population through till hair bands unfortunately fell from the top. A nice piece of history. A Sarnia legend.

From: Hernan Date: April 23, 2002 at 6:38
Awesome band!!! I heard about them in 1991 but I couldn't get their CD until now... and I love it, I mean it... this is a kick asses band!!! My favorites are Poisoned By Love, Borderline, Love Me or Leave Me, Make Me Do Anything You Want, Wild Reaction, and Don't Turn Your Back On Me Now... GREAT!!!

From: Steve Date: May 14, 2002 at 16:31
Great band!!! Sucks to be me 'cause I only have it on cassette (I know I suck). Looking for it on Kazaa or for someone selling it.

From: MacD Date: July 20, 2002 at 10:26
Jabber - I'm amused! Good CD - definitely the best of the NJ bands from the late 80's but the hometown hype here is a bit OTT

From: Neil Date: September 9, 2002 at 13:34
listening to this again recently....nice bunch of riffs & decent vocals but absolutely no TUNES...nothing hummable at all... not worth hunting down at all..

From: purrfect-kat Date: September 24, 2002 at 14:03
I do not like this entire cd but I am sure glad I bought it cuz the tune called . 'Don't Turn Your Back On Me' . . Is Really good so if You go to the download sites then try to pick up that tune.

From: ARXONTAS Date: November 28, 2002 at 15:38
I OWN THE RECORD!!!!Yes i know im very @#$%^! I also share the whole cd on kazaa.Contact me if you are intresting in trade. fm12@kos.forthnet.gr

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: December 21, 2002 at 18:59
Strong musicianship and very accurate vocals!!! 'Gypsy Rose' is High-Energy Rock!!! 'Crawlin' features some nice, whiny, sinister, showdown guitarwork and raspy vocals!!! 'Love Me Or Leave Me' lays down some cool bass lines and wicked guitar sections!!! 'Wild Reaction' is the 'Baby, how was I? Was It good for you too? Ditty. 'Don't Turn Back On Me Now' a real girl pleaser!!! All-in-all a very good album!!!

From: Sage!! Date: January 15, 2003 at 4:39

From: Tiffany Date: May 7, 2003 at 5:43
Being only 22, I will always remember this band. Saw the band many times live and they rocked it everytime! I am also from their hometown SARNIA (Im sorry 'Realism', but I was one of those 'white trashis'(if that is even a word)teens)..have you ever BEEN to Sarnia?. Acutally, Mike grew up in Petrolia with my dad, Ron Stutt (who is another amazing musician and guitarist) and I think this band is awesome and Mike is an extremely talented songwriter and musician. I love them and always will!

From: john Date: September 23, 2003 at 21:55
One album only released? Well we need more from talented Canadian artists like these guys. Went to high school with Mike and I think he's a hellava good vocalist and songwriter. Excellent guitar work and tight soundin band. Reunite and put out another album guys, you've got fans. Baby's up and fired!!!!

From: Yannis Date: December 11, 2003 at 8:21
Got the album in Greece back in 1990, and today I just surfed the net, wondering what was the fate of this wonderful band ... unforgetable memories of my youth, brilliant songs, rock 'n' roll at it's best! Whatever you are doing guys, all the best!! For HArd rock fans, this is a 'MUST HAVE' album :-)) Yannis

I LOVE THIS BAND AND ALBUM ONLY IN IF IT WAS EASY TO TRACK DOWN

From: Date: February 26, 2004 at 17:16
Being from the Seattle,WA area I remember when Simmons came after 'the other' Gypsy Rose(a far superior band to these guys I might add) threatening them with copyright infringement on the band name. The band susequently changed their name and drummer and lost their momentum. They would have destroyed these guys had they been signed 1st. The bass player, Mike Starr, was w/Alice n' Chains on Facelift and the drummer, Mike Gershema, played w/LA Guns for awhile. Their guitarist was unbelievable!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Mike Ross (the singer of Gypsy Rose) has signed a deal with Z Records in the UK. He will be releasing a new Gypsy Rose cd this year!!! Should be awesome.. Craig Van Gaver is on guitar so that is a good thing too..

From: Tiffany Stutt Date: April 15, 2004 at 0:13
Just for everyone to know...I saw Rossy this weekend, and he gave me Z Records website. There is only a little blurb about Gypsy Rose, but I am sure there is more to come...the website is www.zrecords.net...if you want to check it out. Peace.

From: Martin Lindkvis Date: April 23, 2004 at 16:36
I just feel i have to share the great thing that happened to me today. I went to a fleamarket, just for normal check, and found several piles of old vinylrecords. The nostalgic piece of me got very interested and decided to check through them all. The put the ones that got my eye in the backrow so i could come back when i had money in my pockets. There was Phil Collins, Saga, Styx, Mr. Big and more. But then on was very special. It was a picture of two hands in a praying gesture, with some tiger

From: Martin (Cont.) Date: April 23, 2004 at 16:41
looking symbol on the side. The album´s name was 'prey' and the band was called 'Gypsys Rose'. As i´ve been a sucker for traditional melodic hardrock for years i just felt this was it. I hid it well in the backrow, just be sure, and went home to get my money. Got back the fleamarket, bought nine records for like nine bucks, and went home with mixed expectations. I began listening to saga, a live record, and kind of liked the synth sound but it was to weak. I ate my way through the nine pile

From: Martin (Cont.) Date: April 23, 2004 at 16:45
record pile. Then the time was right for the mystical tiger album. Put it on the discplate and just waited, relaxing to the calm sound of vinyl. Then something hit me, and i know what it was. This is the best record ever! I´ve been listening to maiden, dio, virgin steele, God knows what! But this caught my heart in some wicked special way! And it feels so strange, as i read that it seems so hard to find this record. And i find it in a fleamarket. Well, just wanted to share this. Bless you all

From: unknown Date: May 18, 2004 at 21:56

From: milton Date: May 22, 2004 at 9:15
Hey...I remember these guys and heard the stories about them getting signed with a European label. Good for them!!! I also heard and read many rumours about who will be involved with the project. Can anyone confirm if there will be any original members aside from Mike ross?? If not then who will be stepping in???

From: Brian Joyce Date: May 24, 2004 at 10:21
Hi All, This is Brian Joyce, one of the guitar players in Gypsy Rose. It's true about the England thing. Basicaly, it's a different market over there. Hell, the Darkness is the hottest thing going. lol Our first gig is at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. As it stands it's just Mike and I doing this. The drummer from Asia and the bassist from Zack Wylde are going to make up the rest of the band for the England dates. Should be a blast!

From: Craig Date: June 30, 2004 at 21:07
Maybe Brian & Mike should look to the left side of this page & click on Zrecords for a little history on that company. Very interesting to say the least! Sarnia Rocks!

From: Dean Date: June 30, 2004 at 22:28
Y'know-Some bands have had good luck with ZRecords(just not many)

From: David Date: July 12, 2004 at 23:26
Does anyone know when the new album is coming out???

From: brad Date: July 14, 2004 at 9:13
...Yeah ... New Album..Right?

From: Rycheage Date: August 13, 2004 at 22:05
Pretty mediocre CD here. You could tell that Mr. $immons had his grubby paws all over this one. Could've been better, but alas it wasn't. 'Poisoned By Love' is the only redeeming quality about this CD. Not a single original aspect about this CD. This has been done a million times over. 5.0/10.

From: Geoff Date: August 14, 2004 at 23:49
Got to admit I actually really like this CD.'Poisoned by love' is an obvious gem of an anthem,'Borderline' is one of my favourite hard melodic rock moments of all time... speaking of anthems! 'Blood and sweat' is a crucial ballad in my books - excellent, 'Love me or leave me' and 'Make me do anything you want'(Who said Bon Jovi?!) are great commercial hard rockers. 'Shiver then shake' and 'Wild reaction' have their moments, 'Don't turn your back on me now' is another great ballad! Love it! 8/10

From: Whittney Date: September 22, 2004 at 21:30
If you guys read this best of luck to you both. It has been a long time coming. Thinking of you.

From: scorpion_14414 Date: November 14, 2004 at 16:45
I am still undecided about this cd maybe it will grow on me, as it only cost me £2 i wont be to bothered if it dosn't although i do like the first track poisoned by love.

From: Dewey Yun Date: January 19, 2005 at 8:10
I haven't heard of this band before. I chanced to hear Poisened by Love today. It totally blowed my heart away. I'm junping with joy to know this fantastic band. I'll be up all night listening to this cd today.

From: Tony Z Date: March 13, 2005 at 22:28
I'm so excited to hear that Gypsy Rose just signed with Z-records. Thats amazing news...There 1st CD just F**ckign Rocks. I bought it way back in 1990 and have been playing it ever since. I also seen the band live twice and hung around with them backstage. Great bunch of guys! Totally down to earth. Wish them the best of luck and I will definetly be picking up the new cd and soon as it is released. Rock on! Tony Z

From: z4roxx Date: March 14, 2005 at 13:47
Also for me this is a great cd but,are U sure that now Gypsy Rose will do a cd like this one??Oh no mate,I think it will be the same modern shit as all reunions, what a shitty fashion!!!!!!

From: Erik Date: September 9, 2005 at 8:41
zvroxx listen to the new Gypsy Rose. Its really awesome. I f...ing love it. From the hard hitting 80ies opener When you leave at night to the kinda scandi vibe feel good songs Promise to stay and Queen of the night. This albums delivers and rocks( Higway one way !) like most of the visitors here will appreciate. What a wonderful surprise this album. 9/10

From: Erik Date: September 13, 2005 at 11:55
I am talking about the new Swedish outfit here ofcourse. Line up: Håkan Gustafsson: Vocals ,Martin Kronlund: Guitars, Imre Daun: Drums ,Mats Bostedt: Bass ,Rikard Quist: Keyboards. Again a fantastic melodic rock album. Have added it to the site, Not appeared yet tho. 9/10

From: z4roxx Date: September 14, 2005 at 11:45
Thanks Erik for info’s but I’m pretty against reunion bands after many years, maybe I didn’t find yet a new release who sounds like old works but I’ll try to taste the Gypse Rose new cd also because I like very much their debut! For which label is the new cd?

From: Geoff Date: September 14, 2005 at 19:55
Hey z4roxx, how's it going mate? The new Gypsy Rose CD is a completely new and unassociated band - a European one with the ex-Dogface guitarist and a very European melodic hard rock sound. Pretty great CD actually, but not the same guys who recorded 'Prey'. Cheers

From: z4roxx Date: September 19, 2005 at 11:54
Hey Geoff, thanks for info, when I wrote my message without see delay about this new band, after I’ve seen that this band is not the same as”prey”release.I am sorry but I don’t have the time for read about all new bands and cds’,cheers!

From: Erik Date: September 20, 2005 at 10:47
I give up. Have tried to add the new swedish stunning Gypsy Rose release 3 times now. Doesnot seem to appear tho. What a shame.

From: valcat Date: October 18, 2005 at 9:33
Hi, I'm from Poland (Europe hehehe) and I have this CD. It's awesome. I wanna see them live. You're lucky there in US.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: January 26, 2006 at 17:06

From: manicmurderdoll Date: April 25, 2006 at 23:53
Another good one I had on cassette. Just recently got my hands on a disc. "Don't turn your back on me now" is a kick ass ballad. That song alone is worth buying the album, IMO.In fact, that song was why I wanted to replace it. The rest of the songs hold up pretty well. It's just feel good rock and roll, not a symphony,so it does its job.

From: Morningstar Date: April 7, 2007 at 13:53
Still one of my favourite bands. Still like watchin Mike live. Great songwriter / musician. Rossy - Diesel say's "ello" from Alberta. Giving country music a shot. You won't go wrong if can still find a copy of this. I ruined two cassettes in college alone lol.

Vaya tema el Bordeline mi favorita me encante el stylo el sonido que emite esta buen cancion....

A really exciting release!!!...highly recommendable!!! ...Melodic Metal???..for it sounds more into the Hard Rock/Glam territory with, yes, some hints of Metal..anyway the tracks i liked the most were "Poisoned By Love","Borderline" (both excellent songs),"Love Me Or Leave Me"( ),"Make Me Do Anything You Want" (catchy),"Wild Reaction"(beautiful ballad)& "Don't Turn Your Back On Me Now" ( )...good vocalist(Mr Ross) and great musicianship...thumbs up guys!!!.95/100

one day in 1990 i have heard at radio "poisonned by love".it was a little miracle cause frenches radios never plays hard melodic rock from unknow bands like gypsy rose.so i decide to buy this cd.i was not disapointed.even now in 2012 i still have a real pleasure to listen this gem.this album is varied and excellent.two emotionals beautiful ballads, two super mid tempo and six exceptionnal hard rock songs.unfortunately no japan import for this marvellous record.

amazing hair metal release back in 90 by those Canadian rockers!needs some spins and you realize that this is top notch commecial hard rock music ,with many hooks ,nice vibe and great vocals by Michael Ross!all the songs are great and especially the hit "poisoned by love",the anthemic "borderline" and "love me or leave me" and the sensational"blood n sweat" excellent release indeed!

This is one of the best hair metal-sleaze metal releases ever. I mean yeah yu have your warrants, skid rows, etc...but these guys managed to take out a terrific bunch of very good tunes. It ranks among my all time fave 100 cds.

I love this band! This is where it's at after the smoke has cleared from the 80's & 90's. I just got the different collections of early demos. You can really hear the talent early on. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess. A lot of people make music but some people make magic!
