Finally he's got his place here & the recognition by HH. hehehehe! His first 4 records are definitely fine AOR works. Cheers! |

Debut album by Richard Marx..is amazing how wonderful musician this guy is and still has some little recognition..just some moments even though the man has written mega hits..about this one well we have the killer tracks "Should Have Known Better","Don't Mean Nothing","Endless Summer Nights","Hold On To The Nights","Have Mercy" and "Remmenber Manhattan"..just buy..92/100 |

Yeah, Richard Marx gets so little recognition, except every time i go to the dentist and one of his songs is playing on the radio. Come on, man! ... Oh all right, I can't hear "Hold On To The Nights" without being transported back to the stifling heat of the summer of '88, fresh out of second grade and just discovering my interest in radio and music, listening to the local "adult contemporary" station (whose call letters, I swear, were WSUX) on a Walkman handed down from my aunt, and hearing that song about every hour or so. |

When i say "little recognition" i'm not talking about the states(probably he is aired every five seconds...)...Richard Marx deserves a WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION!!!....countries like the ones in South America where we have an enourmous american lifestyle influenced and some artits do not get the promotion that we really expected to have...even though the artits "go crazy" in the side of the continent as we are devoted fans and some of the artist feel like home... |

Yep, ol' Richard was definitely HUGE in the States for the first three albums, especially the first two. |

In agreement with your comment Doghouse Reilly...i had the chance to see Richard Marx live in London durin' the Repeat Offender Tour and shamely the venue was not at its highest capacity(less than half of the venue was empty)then i wondered how this amazing and talented musician even in its highest peak of his career was underrated in the U.K..(not saying that the British audience was "bad" to him, just that there's an "unlogical" rivalry somehow between British AORters and American AORters,i mean bands and singers)anyway the guy himself rocks!..a legend of the genre.. |

The trilogy of the self titled,Repeat Offender and Rush Street is explendid! |

Rick kerch vzla, hold your horses before you build a Rich Marx statue in your back yard. Do you have a team of spammers working around the clock from Nigeria giving HH comments? 8,345 more reviews and the 'king of comments' crown is yours. All jokes aside you seem sincere with your admiration, but Richard Marx and "the guy rocks" should never be in the same sentence IMO. He has talent and song writing ability, but the inclusion of him on 'HEAVY' harmonies along with Cher,Mr. Mister and other ultra light artists is debatable. I would put my money on Huey Lewis and the News 'Heart and Soul'(which is not on HH?) to rock harder than any track in Marx's arsenal. All is not right in the rock universe. |
From: Doghouse Reilly | Date: May 26, 2010 at 10:06 |
Well ... can't say I don't agree, Stallion, but Marx does have one sort-of heavy song, "Playin' Wih Fire." Heavy in a Firehouse-like way, I guess. But yeah ... speaking of Huey, ever notice the chorus riff from "Heart And Soul" is yanked directly from "You Give Me All I Need" by the Scorps? |

Totally agree with the comments of the best South American commentator in Heavy Harmonies the Great Rick Kerch Vzla, i remember my times of teenager listening super songs like "Should've Known Better(1), Heaven Only Knows(2), Endless Summer Nights(3), The Flame of Love, Lonely Heart and Hold on to the Nights" what times! Rick was living in the 80's in England and he enjoy in life the true magic! now not is the same, i have blood in my veins from those Legendary lands because my father is from Scotland and The Rock is part of my soul, the lands of Brave Heart and Strangeways best wishes Rick The Legend! Great album by a Great Artist 90/100. |

Hey Metallianstallion how are u dude?..yeah you are right,my admiration is sincere and shamely my comments are written by myself as i don't have enough money to pay a bunch of guys from Nigeria to do so..hahaha...maybe my job as a radio station commentator(i have another job too)makes me have to do this quite often (pretty regularly basically, hahaha) but well, being a melodic rock/AOR commentator and having this site to write about albums and bands for me,apart from learning more about bands, is like an open notebook for every person around the world..8.345 more comments 2 be crowned???..well let me go for it!!!..hahaha!..God bless you brother... |

From: Rafo Phoenix | Date: May 26, 2010 at 19:28 |
Thanks brother but no way, You are The Best like the song of Joe Esposito and that life in the 80's there in the lands of Rock OMG Rick man... no words, Nigeria hehe but the WorldCup run in SoutAfrica cmon Argentina & Spain about the spanish comments the reason was that in those times most of comments were in spanish and the english people... se sentian opacados y ya no comentaban mucho y asi tuvieron que censurar nuestros Espaņol y solo permitir el Ingles si te das una vuelta el el foro sabras de lo que te hablo, best wishes Rick Fuerza Barsa!!! |
From: rick kerch vzla | Date: May 26, 2010 at 20:07 |

How the fuck is this on Heavy Harmonies?? This guy is a neutered pop singer. THUMBS DOWN |
From: Doug | Date: January 18, 2011 at 18:36 |
Yeah, it's lite AOR but I think its cool he is on HH. Heck, there are other inclusions more "controversial." For all who criticize one must agree that Marx' got a great voice. |

very good debut for RICHARD MARX back in 87 and of course all of us who were in front of the MTV got in touch with his music and me personally always liked his songs ,but couldnt be rocked !His songwriting ability is obvious ,but his sound is lighter than he should !his debut offers some great songs like "should ve known better","hold on to the nights" and " lonely heart" ,but also some big fillers !good artist |

Richard Marx is on here for what he's done for other artists more then these gay ass albums, he's like Desmond Child, the guy is a pop rock writing hit machine, go check his writing credentials, then you come back and make an argument that he deserves to be on here, possibly more then anybody. |
