From: Curious B Date: February 1, 2002 at 5:50
What a great album cover!! Even though Destroyer is argueably their best album, this one is just as good. "I Want You", "Take Me", "Makin' Love". These songs just rock. A must have for any rock n' roll fan.

From: CHIRO Date: April 18, 2002 at 1:13
MAN ARE THIS FOUR GUYS HUMANS OR MACHINES......PERFECT.PERFECT. WHAT MORE CAN I SAY....BUY IT...IS KISS

From: Kim Date: June 14, 2002 at 15:40
I like some of the tracks on this album, but it kinda puzzles me how they could make a perfect album like Destroyer. I mean the sound on that one is soooo good. And on Rock`n Roll Over the guitars sounds like shit.

From: RichieRocker Date: September 16, 2002 at 21:11
This is a pretty good album, not their best but pretty solid. I love "Mr.Speed" "Love Em Leave Em" and "Makin Love" they are my favorites. All the other songs I love but not as much as the ones I mentioned.

From: iNjEcTtheVeNoM Date: January 28, 2003 at 18:35
i love this album.great cover too."i want you""take me" and "makin love" are perfect kiss songs."mr.speed is their greatest"unknown" song ever IMO.peters"baby driver"really rocks,as does"love em leave em"..hell the whole album rocks!and "hard luck woman" is a nice offbeat touch to an otherwise heavy hittin'album.

From: keebler Date: May 28, 2003 at 0:47
i like this one better than destroyer it rocks more i love baby driver.

From: Tony Date: June 1, 2003 at 5:46
I just love the "sound" on this album man!!! It sounds like how rock-n-roll should sound and there's such a warmth to the guitars and vocals that just explode out your speakers. Paul Stanley practically spits out the lyrics on "Take Me" and every teenage boy wishes he could be that cool with the ladies!!! If simplicity is a art form all in itself then this album is pure genious. GREAT simple songs.

From: Jimbo Date: June 3, 2003 at 1:20
I love this CD. I disagree with Kim about the production. As much as I love Bob Ezrin and the Destroyer album, Eddie Kramer got much closer to the live KISS sound on this disc. There are very little effects other than some delay here and there, and the guitars will take a bite out of your ass if you crank up the volume on songs like "Makin' Love" and "Take Me". This platter also has the only Peter Criss song that's worth a damn (Baby Driver) and a cover every fifth grader loves to draw.

From: ace Date: June 3, 2003 at 1:39
this is the bomb (in a good way) for me as a die hard kiss mark. this album smokes from begining to end nonstop metal kiss style. THIS IS THE CD TO RECOMMEND TO THE UNINITIATED!!!!!!!!!!

From: Scandinavia Date: June 8, 2003 at 20:50
PUT YOUR HAND IN MY POCKET AND GRAB ONTO MY ROCKET!!! Yeah Kiss sure knows how to R'n'R! Meet, meet you in the ladies room...That's why the ladies call me Mr. Speed...ROCK N ROLL!!!

From: John Date: October 17, 2003 at 15:15
'Destroyer' part 2. This album sees the band becoming a machine both musically and financially. They continue their undeniable brand of pop metal with songs like 'Love Em, Leave Em', 'Calling Dr Love' & the obligatory ballad they felt the MUST put on the album since it worked so well on 'Destroyer'. Regardless, the formula simply works like nobody's business. 8.5/10.

SUPREMO. YOU CAN´T TALK ABOUT ROCK IF YOU HAVEN´T LISTENED TO THIS ALBUM. THEY WERE IN A GREAT MOMENT AND SHAPE. THEY TOUCHED HEAVED WITH THIS ALBUM AND SO WE DO WHENEVER WE PLAY IT. I LOVE PETER CRISS SINGING BABY DRIVER ....

From: Big Mike Date: February 13, 2005 at 11:50
Probably their Best album. Recorded in 76 but still holds up well today. Cool Cover aswell. Dunno how the remaster sounds but I'd love to hear it with a thicker rhythm section.

From: Rhodeislandrock Date: December 16, 2005 at 13:27
KISS is my favorite band & this has been my favorite album since I was 5. Got it for the cool cover art but played it over & over. Wasn't sure what it was about way back then but it LOOKED cool. IMO, better than Destroyer, less filler. Best track = Mr. Speed. Worst track/filler = Baby Driver (but I like it anyway). This was recorded live in a theatre wasn't it? KISS at their best & reaching their peak.

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 25, 2007 at 21:01
A destacar: "Take Me"(KISS a plenitud!); "Ladies Room" (irresistible tema); "Mr. Speed" (Que melodías Sr. Paul); "See You In Your Dreams" (temazo!); la bella "Hard Luck Woman" y la cañera "Makin´ Love"...GRAN DISCO

From: Put-Put Date: August 10, 2009 at 14:35

Probably the second best 70s release after Love Gun. Calling Dr. Love, Mr. Speed, Hard Luck Woman and Take Me are my favourite songs.

From: pie75 Date: July 26, 2010 at 0:19
great follow up to destroyer less polished wich is good and more straight out rock and roll i want you, ladies room, take me,calling dr.love hard luck woman love em and leave em and making love are all classic rock songs of the highest quality as much as i love destroyer this album was more fun great stuff

From: Axelinger Date: February 8, 2012 at 1:27
I'd never heard Calling Dr. Love before tonight, and I can honestly say it has to be one of the stupidest songs of all time. There I was, driving along when this song came on, and I damned near pissed my pants laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of its juvenile lyrics. Every time they belted out yet another, "Calling Dr, Love", I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at how moronic it sounded. Seriously, any adult, who thinks those silly lyrics are in any way good, really needs their head examined - either that, or they should spend some time in a sturdy playpen. Now, I know KISS aren't generally considered MENSA material, or anywhere near Shakespearean in their lyrical meanderings, but this claptrap is amateurish on a level below their usual sub-standard. Don't get me wrong - they DO have some decent songs in their catalog, but this dopey venture surely doesn't rank as one of them. Just listen to it as an adult without KISS fan blinders on - its stupidity should be obvious. Awful stuff.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: February 8, 2012 at 21:02
Well, Axelinger, dumb lyrics come with the territory with Kiss. Have you heard Love Gun, the album immediately after this one? It has such gems as "Plaster Caster," "Tomorrow And Tonight," "Hooligan" (rhymes with "I'll never go to school again") the title track, and the totally creepy "Christine Sixteen." The whole idea of Kiss seems rather silly as an adult, who didn'tv grow up in the '70's when they were at least doing something new and outrageous. Rock And Roll Over does have smoe good songs on it, a more stripped-down approach than the bombastic Destroyer. My favorites would have to be "Baby Driver," "Makin' Love," and, stupid lyrics aside, I do like "Calling Dr. Love," musically.

From: edwithmj Date: January 27, 2015 at 18:16
Time to expand: I Want You is forgettable rubbish; Take Me is half-decent but has that rockabilly vibe again; Calling Dr. Love has extremely embarrassingly childish lyrics but is a great rock song nonetheless and I find myself coming back to it; Ladies Room is horrendous and has that, you guessed it, rockabilly vibe that's found in too much Kiss filler. Baby Driver is a decent Criss-sung track but the is lyrically lacklustre. Mr Speed is another decent track but it seems rushed lyrically and musically. The last track to take away is Hard Luck Woman which is a very decent Criss-sung semi-ballad, I like it a lot. Decent Kiss fare with, again, too much filler.

Cool album with some good moments in tracks # 1,5,6,7,8 & 10.80/100 :-)

From: Doug Date: September 22, 2017 at 11:22
One of my favorite KISS albums, with "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" my favorite song. The riff for "Makin'Love"...awesome. So going way back in time, I traded my copy of Led Zeppelin's "Song Remains the Same" with a school buddy of mine for this album. He thought I was nuts. No way!
