Espectacular regreso de Kiss, con su formación más mítica, con este fantástico album

KISS is back!

From: Hard Glam Poser Date: June 23, 2001 at 1:37
One of the best hardrock albuns from KISS!!!! Raise your glasses sounds like the Crazy Nights era, beeing the best song in this album.

From: Dan Date: July 24, 2001 at 4:37
Yea, they're overrated and overhyped, but ya gotta admit this was a pretty decent comeback album...

From: Mike G. Date: July 26, 2001 at 7:43
Not a bad album!!! Had KISS been born into the 90's, this is what they would have sounded like!!!! Good comeback album!!!!

From: Reno Date: August 15, 2001 at 13:52
Listen to all the song's lyrics. The whole damn thing is a tribute to us cd. We are One was kinda good as was Rais your Glasses, but not too much interesting stuff on this cd. Awesome Cover idea though. Again Simmons and Stanly grabbing all the spotlight and only giving Ace and Peter 1 song each.

From: Kim Date: August 28, 2001 at 3:31
Thank you Glam. And the same to you. I`ve had my lesson in Hard Rock, and thats why I think this release stinks. So does yourn attitude towards peoble with another opinion than yours. Glam was more about attitude that making good music. There were/are many good hard rock bands, but few good glam bands. Men with lipstick and stockings. ha ha ha ha. Transvestites its called.

From: Kristen Date: December 15, 2001 at 15:32
I am 13 and cuz of my dad i have been listning to kiss all my life. Psycho Circus is my favorite. It was kool to have all the original members back and in make-up. I like this cd the most cuz they changed thier sound a bit from their most recient cds. Thanx for your time!!!

From: koogles Date: January 3, 2002 at 8:46
Gene Simmons' legendary list of sexual partners has adequately convinced us all of his ufailing ability to get into women's pants. But his greedy little paws have been getting into men's pants just as successfully: most notably, the pockets where the wallets are typically held. Yep, this CD may be a listenable affair, but I can't help but think that it was made for all the wrong reasons. (Insert sound of cash register ring here.)

From: Date: January 6, 2002 at 3:21
Kim, do the New York Dolls, T-Rex, Bowie, (Ziggy era) Alice Cooper, early Crue, etc. mean anything to you? All of these acts wore lipstick and stocking at one time or another, but ask MOST hard rock acts, and they'll more than likely admit that they were influenced by a good majority of these acts. I'm so fucking sick of all the glam bashing from non-educated "fans" of rock n' roll. Shit, fucking Rush were a GLAM band when they first started out!!!

From: Curious B Date: February 1, 2002 at 7:21
Koogles and Reno I applaud you both. Kim, you just don't get it. Kristen, I pity you. This album is a let down for the KISS fan. Rumor has it that Gene and Paul made Ace change the lyrics to his song so it would fit the "theme" of the album. The band has lost the hunger and passion to write good Glam/Hard Rockin' songs. I will nurture my kids on KISS but will hide the hideous unpleasantries of the last decade.

From: Motley Date: February 4, 2002 at 14:28
Along with Motley Crue and WASP, Kiss is the soundtrack to my life and I wouldnt have been the dude I am today if it wasnt for them. Sorry that they're quitting but THE HAIRBANDS DAYS WAS AND IS STILL THE BEST YEARS EVER IN ROCK MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK ALL THE NON BELEIEVERS AND FAKERS. motley knows what he talking about you got to charish those bands because they knew how to rock unlike most of the new bands today.

From: Desslar Date: April 5, 2002 at 12:33
Some good songs (especially Within), but pretty flat for a comeback album. The Criss song is just embarrassing. This needed a lot more edge.

From: Tony Date: April 10, 2002 at 1:01
The fact that Paul Stanley LOVES this cd scares the crap out of me. If we could time travel back to 1976 and hand this to him I'd love to hear his response then. Sure the songs are listenable and catchy enough but it's only 2002 and this cd sounds DATED already. If this is the best these guys can come up with I'll survive without any more studio albums. Dragging your ass out of bed to write a song shouldn't make you "proud" and the songwriting here reeks of "let's just get this over with".

From: brad 140 Date: April 28, 2002 at 23:47
WOW. KISS is a band that I've always noticed causes a whole bunch of different opinions. I realize they've had only a few perfect albums, but as a live band, they've always been perfect. I talked to a fellow co-worker the day after a concert, and he said he thought it sucked. When I asked him why, he said he never really liked KISS.(?) OK...(?) I told him I was sure Gene and Paul appreciated his purchased ticket anyway. I didn't see him at the show that night, just thousands of happy fans.

From: Kim Date: July 26, 2002 at 13:40
Blue Charvel. Youre right there. Its been so long since I made that comment. But still fun to see how it makes peoble ``jump`` Kiss is a great band. But this was a poor attempt to make a comeback. Theyre awesome live though.

From: Blue Charvel Date: July 26, 2002 at 14:38
KISS are a classic (and class) act, no doubt about it, but they're not perfect (as mentioned by Kim). You're totally right about watching people jump. KISS fans are some of the most loyal (and thin-skinned) out there. What can ya do?

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 4, 2002 at 21:04
I wonder how many people are pissed about the fact that KISS is NOT going to retire? I am sure that the KISS Army is happy, but that farewell tour was a joke! They made alot of money telling everybody that it was the last time. It was a cool farewell until they did this. Now they are just a bunch of punkass bitches! Go ahead Paul, run it into the ground! I bet this tour doesn't sell like the last two. What a joke!!!!

From: RichieRocker Date: August 4, 2002 at 21:37
Thes guys are coming out of retirement?? Thats news to me! Why? they have done enough and have nothing tp prove! They are awesome, but are they really coming back???

From: Kim Date: August 5, 2002 at 16:12
They cant come back as they never dissapeared. They have to prove 1 thing. . . . . Make a good comeback album. They never did that.:-)

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 5, 2002 at 17:02
KIM, They may not have dissapeared but, they did tell all their fans "farewell" on their last two tours. It was no suprise that they sold out every show and made alot of money last time because everybody thought it would be the last time! I guess the money was to good to quit? Now they are going to run the gravy train until it's in the ground.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 5, 2002 at 17:05
They said that the farewell tour was all about and the fans. Now Paul is saying it's about himself. That's a load of crap!! It's all about the money!!

From: RichieRocker Date: August 5, 2002 at 17:37
As much as I hate to believe what I am about to say but it seems like musicians are all about the money and they dont give a SHIT about us fans. The "sellout" albums and the "farewell tours". They should remember if it wasnt for us. Where would these groups be? They wouldnt be anywhere without us. Jason you said it best."Its all about the money"!

From: Kim Date: August 6, 2002 at 1:50
True Jason. I saw them here in Copenhagen a few years ago on a farewell tour. I`m sure this will be another sellout tour. Like any of the last 10-15 farewell tours which other `mammut`bands like The Who, Rolling Stones has made. I`d still like them to make one hell of an album. I wonder what they are going to do with all that money.???

*poof* the sound of my bubble bursting.how could they make this happy happy joy joy smaltzy album right after rocking the world for over a year with songs like"deuce" and "god of thunder"??and rock was getting nastier and heavier by this time..really knocked kiss down a few pegs.an album more like "revenge" and they might have rivaled metallica for the rock crown,i think.i hope its not there last,i know they can do so much better.

From: Trick Taylor Date: February 5, 2003 at 16:45
It's time to put this baby to bed. Gene if you are listening, you have proven once and for all that $$$ rules your roost. I was a KISS FREAK, having seen them for the first time in 1979 (age of 9, John Cougar opened). Now I am saddened by the all the KISS crap for sale and the passionless state of their music. Seeing Gene struggle through "Within" in concert was even worse. This disc has its moments, but they are few. KISS and Aerosmith this summer? More $$$$$ Gene! More money.

Especially after all the lawsuits and name calling. Black N Blue are getting back together and doing a new cd with Tommy Thayer so someone has to play guitar. Why not just get back with Singer and Kulick and pick up after Revenge left off?

From: James Date: April 18, 2003 at 1:49
Piss Poor effort. All this album was meant to be was a way to get the four back togheter to make a ton of money. the songs sound thrown together and rushed. After this what have they given us, revolving members, lies and a ton of greatest hit's packages. unless something changes I will not be buying anything from this coporation [ooops], sorry I mean band.

From: sgn Date: May 29, 2003 at 6:04

From: Big Mike Date: May 29, 2003 at 18:02
Shit! its a album of originals.....what a surprise. Kiss is all about money so its good to see some fresh material for the fans as its been scarce of late. live albums, unplugs, great hits, it was all getting too much. There are some good songs on here but they've gone out to write an album full of anthems which is a bit poxy. anyway if you like kiss, buy it, its good to hear something I haven't heard before.

From: Rycheage Date: June 22, 2003 at 14:09
The album itself is quite varied, with a strong emphasis on the 80's style hard rock Kiss, which just happens to be my favorite period of the band. There is a hint of the 90's sound that was featured on Carnival Of Souls and there is also some 70's vibes and influences from the bands' original sound. But oddly enough there isn't as much of a 70's feel as I expected. This is as close to classic stadium rock Kiss as you will ever get and proves that Kiss are still capable of making memorable music.

From: Dusty Date: October 30, 2003 at 6:26
Why did they dumped Bruce Kulick ??? He was the best guitarplayer in Kiss (he might not have had the virtuose style of Vinnie or Mark, but his sound fits better in Kiss) I know that they wanted a reunion, but why do that if your band only improved by the change in personnel ??? And why didn't they get Bruce back on the Alive IV thing ?? Ace isn't on that one, they got some unknown guy, hoe is a bad Ace immitator. About this album, it's quite a good effort, but Revenge is still my fav

From: Bizkit82 Date: January 1, 2004 at 19:26
I liked this CD. I saw the reunion/farewell tour in 2000 and it was friggin awesome. Read Gene's book "KISS & Makeup" for an unreal look into the whole story from day one, how Gene and Paul met, how Peter and Ace came aboard....it's hilarious. Gene makes them all sound pretty insecure incl. himself, which was surprising. Sounds like a couple of regular guys that got lucky in the 70's and have managed to keep it going. Can anyone believe that Gene wrote the script for COMMANDO with Arnold? WOW!!

From: kissandacdclove Date: January 2, 2004 at 14:35
i got this cd for my best friend just b/c of the cool looking cover lol. and that she and i are both fans of KISS

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 8, 2004 at 16:47
I REALLY wanted this album to be good. I ran out and bought it on the first day of release like a good little geek. Listened to it for a week solid and finally realized... it ain't that great. Five good songs (tracks 1-4 and 6) and the rest are filler, filler, filler. "I Finally Found My Way" is the absolute bottom of the barrel. If they were trying to cop the success of "Beth" they failed miserably. Peter Criss should NEVER be allowed near a microphone AGAIN.

WOW. Lot's of comments. I'll make it short. You love KISS long time, you love Psycho Circus long time. You don't like no KISS, you don't like no Psycho Circus.

From: Apoc_DOP Date: February 14, 2004 at 23:37
Psycho Circus SUCKED! This was a blatant attempt to recapture magic that was lost. This record sucks! Where are the chops and raunchy lyrics that kept them going through the 80's and 90's? Where are the soaring solos and melodic screams that defined 70's rock? I will tell you where, $money$.$money$.$money$ Buy our CRAPPY Record! You are STUPID! This is the worst case of money-grubbing I have witnessed by KISS. ACE and PETER are dead! They couldn't write themselves out of a phone booth!

From: Big Papa K Date: June 27, 2004 at 0:51
What a disater of an album. Who actually played on this one? The title track is the last classic song they will ever write, and "Into The Void" is good, but the rest is poor. "You Wanted The Best" is a bad "Rock N Roll All Night" rip off and Alice Cooper sued them with good reason for "Dreamin" being a complete ripoff of "I'm Eighteen". Retire, please! 3/10

From: Kissme Date: June 30, 2004 at 18:58

I really wanted to like this. I heard "Psycho Circus" and thought that it was going to kick ass, but no....Other than "Psycho Circus" and "Into The Void", this is a complete mess. I don't know which is worse, this or "Carnival Of Souls".

From: Adam Blackheart Date: August 29, 2004 at 9:53

From: Geoff Date: January 17, 2005 at 5:40
They bought back a decent sound, but who forgot the songs? Aside from 'Carnival of souls', easily the poorest and most filler-filled album in the KISS collection. Very poor CD.

From: pt88 Date: January 20, 2005 at 12:58
Anybody notice on the song Raise your Glasses that the song had an audible glitch ? I really liked the album initialy but then the news came out about only Gene & Paul had any really hand in it. Underneath it all their were internal problems. It was a hype and burn for me. I was suspicious about the gtr playing throughout. Who's kidding who they aren't known for being really good musicians. Very forgetable in the long run.

From: LUST Date: March 19, 2005 at 1:36
Solid effort from Gene and Paul. Anyone who thinks Peter and Ace really ever had a say in KISS are kidding themselves. We Are One and Dreamin' are highlights.

From: poproxx2007 Date: December 23, 2005 at 3:24
Rycheage said it best I really wanted to like this. The title track is good you have to admit it gets you all excited like your in for some big kick in the ass. Once again 1998 was a horrible time for this to be released even though it was hot on the heels of the huge comeback tour. Radio didnt embrace it and either did MTV which was still a big deal in 98 for any band. Starts out strong and then peters out which is kind of like the reunion to me. Cool at first and then became too much. Too much

From: Remastered Reason Date: February 7, 2006 at 22:28
Aside from the title track, very average tunes. Can anyone say KI$$? They are more worried about the cash than music, which is what got them there to begin with. There is nothing more pathetic than aging rockers living off their fruits from eons ago & still thinking they are the greatest thing going today. At least they have not disgraced themselves again musically within the last 8 years with another lackluster studio album.

From: evileric71 Date: December 21, 2006 at 10:45
Ok, for anybody who gives a crap, let me say something here. The album is mediocre at best. Ace and Peter aren't playing on most of these songs because they just couldn't cut it anymore. Tommy Thayer, Bruce Kulick are doing most of the guitars and a guy named Kevin Valentine, formerly of a great band called Silent Rage is handling the drumming on this album. Some catchy songs and some crappy songs. Seems to be par for the course with most bands of this genre these days.

From: XabDeth Date: January 2, 2007 at 15:13
que regreso, disco maravilloso, muy bueno, con escuchar we are one o la delicada I Finally Found My Way sabes que se tratan de kiss, todas las canciones son buenas.

From: Michael67 Date: May 26, 2007 at 13:47
I thought this was ok. Not my favorite Kiss Album. I'd give it 2 stars out of 5. We Are One is my favorite track even if it doesn't sound like a Kiss song.

From: underworld king Date: August 4, 2008 at 7:31
I guess I am in the minority here but I thought this was their best release since Lick It Up. I do agree that if Ace and Peter had had more songs on here it would have been a lot better. I think it's a lot better than some of their other 80's and 90's releases and I still play it often. Favorite tracks 1-4, 6, 9, 10 and 11 (bonus track sung by Ace titled In Your Face).

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: August 5, 2008 at 15:33
Being a lifelong KISS fan I can only say this...I think this sucks.. Sorry but it's true... a total waste of time...

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: August 7, 2008 at 2:55
Well, this CD is okay, if you don't listen closely and use it as background music. Pay any attention at all, and it falls apart. The songs are boring and frequently atrocious, and the lyrics are even worse. See "I Pledge Allegiance" for a prime example. I swear, many of these songs make you feel stupid just listening to them. The only decent songs are "Psycho Circus," even as pandering as it is, and "Into The Void." The rest? Forgettable at best. And all the hype at the time was that all four original members played on the album. Well, they SORTA did, on one song. This album is really a testament to how stupid Gene and Paul think the fans are.

From: kai Date: August 17, 2008 at 14:59
I must disagree with some of the comments posted above, for me this is a great record, a sort of fusion between 70s, 80s and 90s KISS, and a breath of fresh air after the "Carnival Of Souls" record. Great tunes like "Psycho Circus", "I Pledge Allegiance", "Raise Your Glasses" and "Dreamin´". Unfortunately they played live only 3 songs from this record.

Sincerely who would have thought they were able to record such a good album after that long hiatus and being well past their best? Honestly not me . I must say , to me it is one of the best from Kiss and I mean not only "the modern" Kiss but their entire career .My fave off PCircus "Within" could easily have been placed on Creatures or Lick it up A very very good comeback from a band whose members are about to be great-grand fathers.

well people most wanted the reunion they got it did anybody think they were getting another destroyer out of these guys? i must admit i did rush out and buy it the first day it came out what do you rate it against from that time revenge? not in the same league carnival of souls? much better than that i think pauls songs are the best here the title track is a corker within is gene's only really good moment i pledge alleigence was good (attempted to be an anthem i guess)and raise your glasses and dreaming were good (dreaming was co written with bruce kulick) and ace's into the void had to be changed that many times til it made the cut but was a decent contribution unfortunatly there are silly songs on here like you wanted the best and we are one peter criss was clearly washed up at this point in time and i think we all knew it was gonna fall apart again what the album lacks is a sleazy song like we expect from kiss maybe a little too serious

A pretty standard Kiss album, containing a few good songs ("Psycho Circus," "I Pledge Allegiance," "Raise Your Glasses") and a whole bunch of filler material mixed with outright bombs that stink worse than a dead skunk's bunghole. By this point in their career, even their loyal fans were beginning to accuse them of being nothing more than cash-grabbing clowns.

I have to agree with Kai's comments above. It's been 18 years since its release and I still love this album. Paul's vocals stand out on this album way better than on later releases. Sonic Boom is good and Monster is pretty good as well but IMHO this is a classic. I understand there was a lot of behind the scenes drama going on when this was recorded but that's usually been the status quo for this band.

Man, alll the hype surrounding this disc. "FIrst album featuring all four original members, in makeup sinc, welll, never mind!" And the first single was a total fist-pumping anthem, obviously written to kick off the set with on the accompanying tour. But once the album actually came out, Kiss Kool-Aid drinkers notwithstanding, I think most grown-ups realized just how lame Kiss had become in 1998. "Raise Your Glasses" and "I Pledge Allegiance" are typical dumb Kiss songs, and "You Wanted The Best" is a self-congratulatory sing-along, the band members embarrassing themselves with the spoken ad-libs at the end. Peter's ballad is dreadful, of course. The first two songs are decent, "Into The Void" has a cool riff but isn't memorable otherwise. "We Are One" is okay, aside from being another circle-jerk dedicated to the Kiss Army, and therefore, kind of embarrassing. I dunno, it just seemed like once everybody got over the novelty of a new Kiss albbum with the original lineup, they realized

... it really wasn't that good of an album. And the behind-the-scenes stuff? When it turned out that Peter and Ace DIDN'T play on the whole album, and in fact, the original four only played together on one song, Gene and Paul actually kept on denying it for quite a while. Kiss diehards just never get tired of being lied to by their heroes, or making excuses for them.

I will be honest, I have never truly understood the hype around Kiss, and they were certainly never as "big" in the UK as the US in the 70s, so my first exposure to them was Crazy Nights. After getting that album I picked up Smashes, thrashes and hits, and found that I liked some of the earlier stuff too. Hot in the shade was nowhere near as good as Crazy nights, but I really liked some songs on it, but it was Revenge that really kicked my arse as a truly great Kiss album. So I picked up all the earlier releases and found all the "classic" albums to be pretty weak, with most of the good and great songs being the ones on the greatest hits albums. So when this came out I did not expect much. I can honestly say though that this one follows a close second to Revenge as my favourite Kiss album. Sadly this was the last great Kiss album for me, as everything else since has been boring retreads or past glories.

CC, if you were a teen in the '70's this where the genesis (and then hype) of their following begins. I can still recall as a teenager watching them in concert during their "Love Gun" tour and being a bit frightened seeing this 7 foot guy spitting fire and blood, bombs blasting, drums rising high and "Detroit Rock City," my favorite KISS song, coming at me all at once. It was such an experience.

Yeah but as I say Doug, outside of the US (with possibly the exception of Australia and maybe Japan), Kiss were never as big a deal in the 70s. Not saying they had no popularity, just that they were not HUGE. In the UK, they only really started to get noticed in the 80s.
