This is a very underated album by Paul. Saw him do a bunch of thes songs in his late 80's tour. Chock full of good tunes and recommended for all.

Light years ahead most of Kiss' records of the 70s. Paul shows who is the real power of the band. "Tonight You Belong To Me" the absolute atmospheric rocker!

Love Ace's solo album but don't believe the hype, Paul's is by far the best of the solo albums as it just has the goods (the songs) to stake that claim. Better than a lot of Kiss band albums in it's own right. This has a great classic 70's hard rock vibe to it that still stands the test of time today. Every song whether rocker or ballad is just dripping with melody and if you truly needed to know who the MVP was in Kiss than look no further than this cd.

From: richierocker Date: May 19, 2002 at 16:04
i like the more hard rockin songs on this album, but i started to listen to the softer songs too, and i really started to realize how talented Paul Stanley is and how good of a musician he is also. In my opinion agree or disagree, this is the best solo album yet from any members of kiss.

From: RichieRocker Date: September 16, 2002 at 21:26
This is my favorite solo album every song kicks ass. Paul Is the man!!! 2,4,6,7,8 are my favorites. I would highly recommend this cd to anybody, I just got one of my friends hooked on this cd, and he loves it.

From: JAVIER Date: December 16, 2002 at 4:39
Paul es el alma de kiss, musicalmente hablando . To dos los mejores temas los ha compuesto él y este disco es uns obra maestra, de su época más horterilla pero cojonudo.

From: emdienne Date: January 8, 2003 at 19:49
I agree. This was the best of the solo albums and one of my favourite albums of all time. Such a shame that Paul Stanley hasn't released any further solo efforts as some of the tracks on here are truly momentous. One to convert the narrow minded, and still a great album to drive to some 25 years on. Thanks Paul!

From: iNjEcTtheVeNoM Date: January 28, 2003 at 18:21
this album shows who the true heart and soul of kiss is."tonight..""love in chains" "its alright" "goodbye" all rock."aint quite right" and "take me away" are better than any ballads or "soft" stuff on any kiss albums and show pauls talents.the only weak spot is the sickeningly sweet"hold me touch me"blehhhh...but yeah id love to see a new PS solo album /tour

From: Date: February 16, 2003 at 18:15
This album shows where all the great song writing came from in Kiss ... sure wasn't from Gene!

From: Jimbo Date: March 7, 2003 at 1:10
This album was monumental for two reasons. 1)It made Paul think he could be a producer (he was wrong) and 2)It made it clear to the rest of the band what direction Paul wanted to go in (lighter, more melodic fare). The tension between Ace's hard-edged style and Paul's AORish leanings are what made the early discs great. As the band fractured into 4 entities in the 80's, the individual pieces failed to equal the whole. If only Ace, Pete, Gene & Bob Ezrin had helped out, this thing would've rocked

From: CHIRO Date: April 8, 2003 at 22:47
HERE IT IS...THE ONLY FOUR MENBERS SOLO ALBUM THAT SHOULD GET THE NAME KISS ON THE COVER.... PAUL YOU ARE THE KING.... YOU KEEP KISS ALIVE IN 70,80,90...AND FOREVER...YOU ARE THE SOUL OF THHIS BAND

From: iaffprofireman Date: April 13, 2003 at 1:44
This one and Ace's are the best of the solo albums, but of those 2, I think Paul's is slightly better. Tremendous album!

From: Decibel Dave Date: May 22, 2003 at 20:47
A very good album in its own right, especially for 1978! Easily the best of the solo albums, though Ace's was good too.

From: keebler Date: May 28, 2003 at 3:55
this is a very good album all the way around and paul stanley can sure sing i wish he would do more stuff like this.

From: Chris Date: October 30, 2003 at 7:56
Easily the best of the solo releases, this is a great, and hugely under rated album. There is not a low point at all on this release, and every song is a gem. I heard this album when it first came out, and it still holds great memories for me. Stanley still is one of my all time heroes. 'Tonite you belong to me' is an absolute killer.

From: Frank Date: March 31, 2004 at 13:16
I was a kid when I got this and It's Alright was a tennis racket pose in the mirror classic. Paul to this day is still why KISS is so great - and still relevant. If you never heard this album, turn off your computer and go buy it now! I always felt there should've been a couple o' more songs on it (9 all together) but what you get are 9 tracks without filler (although a fave cd skip over would be Hold Me, Touch me...). Paul is a hero of mine too and for an album released in 1978 - *****! classic

From: Great Dane Date: March 31, 2004 at 14:55
...................Or dont. There is a big risk you will be dissapointed by the lameass tracklist. The lyrics are soo booring and the tracks far from exciting. 2 or 3 tracks are ok, not GOOD but ok to listen too, the rest are pure crap.

From: Chris Date: April 13, 2004 at 16:37
Take no notice of Danes last comment. He/She normally has v.good taste but they are way off mark with this one. This album is superb, and as said earlier there aint no fillers. Every song is so good. I only wish that Stanley would do a solo effort like this again. He should kick Kiss into touch and do another solo album.

From: David Date: April 28, 2004 at 5:49
One of the best albums KISS ever recorded and the demonstration of who's the inspiration behind the band; looks like Paul is currently working on a brand new solo effort, keep your fingers crossed!!!!

From: Big Papa K Date: June 27, 2004 at 0:39
The most Kiss like of the four solo albums, maybe that is the problem. Stanley plays it a little too safe and a little too lite. The rockers work well, but the softer songs are weaker than ones he would release later with Kiss. 6/10

From: Rycheage Date: July 9, 2004 at 21:21
Not the best of the solos. That goes to Ace. I agree he does play it close to the KISS vest, but it works because Paul's material is what KISS is known for. "Tonight You Belong To Me", "Goodbye", and It's Alright" work real well for him but the ballads such as "Hold Me Touch Me" are a bit weak. I recommend this over the Gene and definitely the Peter album.

From: jrscan77 Date: October 7, 2005 at 20:48
Simplemente un discazo, muy buenos temas, y no va a ser, si estamos hablando de Paul, gracias maestro....10/10

From: wzcj02 Date: May 22, 2006 at 14:19
Ace's solo is not as good as Pauls for mine. Of course Ace's sold more so most of you probably won't agree. Pauls sticks closer to kiss out of the 4 solos and the songs are of an excellent standard. I hope the new solo album will be as good as this. stay tuned.

From: sabace Date: April 22, 2009 at 9:26
amazing lp , the most under rated lp of all time !

From: pie75 Date: July 26, 2010 at 0:50
yes my friends this is clearly the best of the solo albums what an ammazing voice this man has and cleaely you can see who the most talented member of kiss is think of just about all of the great kiss songs and he wrote them whether he sang on them or not even gene's so called signature song god of thunder was written by paul tonight you belong to me is close to my favourite kiss song and certainly my favourite paul song but what about move on,aint quite right, wouldn't you like to know me, hold me touch me and love in chains are superb i could watch this man sing and play any time what a talent

From: fcmahlzeit Date: September 4, 2010 at 9:10
This is clearly the best of the four solo albums. Much better than the Gene and Peter albums and better than Ace's.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: September 17, 2015 at 16:54
Enjoyable Record!!!...some good songs in it such as "It's Alright","Hold Me, Touch Me (Think Of Me When We're Apart)","Love In Chains" & "Goodbye"...84/100
